Hey Ando thank you a lot for the kind comment! I checked some of your videos! You have some very cool content and bring your messages in very friendly and funny way to the audience! I liked that! So also happy training to you! !🙏
I’ve been practicing xing yi for 7 years and wing chun. San ti is the most important post training you can do. If you have a master that gives you the five elements before Santi then leave him. Santi should always be taught first. I was put into Santi for 3 years before I was taught any of the five elements form. Thank you for teaching and sharing your knowledge and wisdom.
Great interview Stev, lots of useful information on Xing-Yi. The only part I that I practice is San Ti. I totally agree with what you said on standing practice with the internal arts. So many discards this, and will find out that they can not advance in their practice if they don’t understand the advantages of standing training. Unfortunately I won’t be able to make it to the month of training or to the camp. Enjoy yourself and the WDP group with the training. My time training with you guys I stil hold in loving memory.
Hey Nico, thank you for your supporting and kind comment! I hope one time we will meet again in some kind of training occasion and stand good Qi Gong together :). Until than, we stay connected like that! Have a good training!
Martial arts like Aikido aim to close in and grab your wrists to dislocate your bones. I like the variants of Xing Yi Quan that use more closed circular movements.
Hello! I very much enjoyed this explanation. I have big decision to make in 2025 when I move to China long term to study Martial arts with regards to Styles. I have chosen; Jīn Gāng Lì Gōng and Sanda but I must also choose a traditional style aswell. The academy teaches both Bājíquán and Xingyiquan. Could you explain the similarities or differences between these two styles? I can't decide which is better for me. Appreciate your time.
Thank you for your question. I think it depends a bit on your motivation and goals as well as on your previous experience. But in any case it is possible to build up a first foundation through online classes. Long-term for sure it will be also helpful to visit us or find a teacher nearby to help you to rounden up your practice in person. Nevertheless, I have some students that started to practice with me Xing Yi Quan only online for some years by now :) on www.hidden-turtle.de you can find a quite structured course for that!
Your history is all over the place. Yueh Fei, has no connection to Xing Yi Quan, apart from a fable, which tells a boxing manual which was credited being found by a Cao Jiwu (who also has nothing to do with Xin Yi Quan either). Ji Long Feng was the founder and 1st generation master, who passed down teachings, which made their way to "Ma Xueli" which founded, the Muslim, Xinyiliuhequan, which then later was assimilated by the Dai family i n Qi Xian, Shanxi. Modern Xing Yi Quan, as that is formed by, Li Laoneng came from Dai family. Your story of the "beng quan master" was actually referring to, Guo Yunshen ,who mastered and developed a technique called "half step crushing fist" and this was not just a sole technique he learnt but specialised in.
Hey Daixinyi, I appreciate your constructive criticism! As I said in the video, I don't really talk about the history. More using the Legend as an inspiration. As I am informed there are no real scientific evidence of the history of Xing Yi Quan. Yours I also heard already. So I find it is a valuable addition to this video here. Thank you! But I also heard other stories. If you have sources of scientific evidence that I could check out, I will be happy to get a link for that. I am eager to learn!
@@xuangongfu To be honest the history from, Ji Long Feng is pretty straight forward and non mystical, though later on there is some discrepancies, Li Lao Neng, learnt from. Some say he learnt directly from, Dai family, such as, Dai Wenxiong (Dai Long Bang's son), others say he learnt from, Guo Weihan (which has it's own unique branch of Xinyi, which still exists in Qi Xian , to this day), Guo, was Dai Long Bang's nephew. If we are talking how. Xinyiliuhequan came to be assimilated into , Dai Xin Yi Quan, then the name which is commonly attributed to it, is Li Zheng (Zhang Zhicheng's student) - Zhang, being a student of - Ma Xueli.
@@DAIXINYI I have some not very "nice" questions for you. 1 ) Why is XingYiQuan so clumsy? It seems to work well against Karate and taekwondo but often fails against Wing Chun unless some serious grappling is used in attempt to slow down the Wing Chun practitioner? 2 ) Is it possible someone like Philipp Bayer to be defeated using XingYiQuan or is it the case that the XingYiQuan practice methods are inferior to Wing Chun practice methods? 3) How to practice XingYiQuan so that the XingYiQuan practitioner would have a chance against a Wing Chun practitioner? 4) What XingYiQuan practice would achieve 8 to 10 moves per second so that a XingYiQuan practitioner would have a chance against someone , for example, like the famous Philipp Bayer? I found that Pi-Quan with grabbing of the opponent's wrist works well against Wing Chun practitioners, because it surprises them , slows them down and disturbs their posture. However in a sparring, after few "mishaps", they quickly learn to feel the grabbing and the pull of the wrist, and they switch to bong sau, while stepping in the direction of the pull and assume an advantageous position which the XingYiQuan practitioner struggles to defend.
@@reasonerenlightened2456 with all respect I would like to know how you come to these conclusions? Is it based on hands on experience or from watching videos on the internet? Xingyi Quan is not clumsy, it’s just not flowery. It doesn’t need 10 movements to drop someone it has the potential to end an encounter with 1 blow. All this Xing Yi Quan vs Wing Tsun talk is pointless. It’s not just the style it’s the practitioner, the art is as good as the person performing and applying it. Wing Tsun is not the best all end all and I don’t think, Xing Yi Quan is either, both of these arts are not so well rounded when it comes to grappling. You keep brining up that, Wong Shun Leung guy, it’s irrelevant. It’s like saying who would win, Bruce Lee or Royce Gracie.
@@reasonerenlightened2456 You seen to have the wrong impression that, Wing Tsun or any art is superior than others, when in fact it more comes down to the practitioner and how much fighting experience they have. 1.Xing Yi Quan is not clumsy, this is a very ignorant comment, it is not flowery with big movements, it is straight, aggressive and direct. 2. This is a silly comment, see #1. 3. You sure love, Wing Tsun and for some reason seem to think it is superior to, Xing Yi Quan, when what, Xing Yi Quan are you basing it on, this video? You mention this, Philipp Bayer, guy (did not even know who this was until I googled him) Can Philipp beat, Rodtang Jitmuangnon? I don't know and I don't care, I am a 47 years old man with 33 years experience training in different martial arts. 4. 8-10 strikes per second? LOL. Xing Yi Quan if it is trained properly only needs 1 strike to finish someone. Wing Tsun chain punch, sorry does not compare. but once again this is still a silly discussion. All this. Wing Tsun vs Xing Yi Quan, talk it is simply ridiculous and I don't think you have the experience to come to these conclusions, my suggestion is train more and spend less time on the internet. I did not even want to respond to this post initially as to how silly it is.

Wow, thank you that is a super kind comment! Thank you for the appreciation. The next weeks I will try to upload some more Xing Yi content!
It explained clearly the importance of xing yi.
Watching this art, and listening to these profound sublimities, are, for me, like awakening to myself. What a blessing for the World. Golden Jade.
For me, 34 year martial art practioner going internal, very well explained
