Röhm was a very bold thug who was definitely a threat to Hitler's power; and he paid the price for it. It's hard for me to believe that Hitler shed one tear over his execution.

Id read decades ago, Hitler didn't want Roehm to die. They had been thru too much together building Germany back from the treaty of Versailles. But his cronies persuaded him to this corse of action.

Rohm and Goering were also bitter enemies, the two hated each other. Rohm was also quite proud of his orientation, in letters to friends in Germany he boasted of introducing his "lifestyle" to the Bolivian Army, which he stated they had no knowledge of. lol!

It's a proven method. Mainly in the Greek city/states. Most famously the Spartans used a Man/apprentice relationship to help bring younger "Warriors" into Manhood! Macedonians also had special friendships with each other! Proponents of this(like Rohm of course)"lifestyle" pointed to the bonding effect of these relationships, in my opinion just to justify his perversions!;)

Neutralization of the SA was also required by the army as a condition of being loyal to Hitler

Rohm was a known homosexual and some have suggested that is why he and "Addy" were such good buddies.

@@lawrencelewis2592 There is a connection between fascism and repressed hsex desires. The fword is a bundle of sticks, stronger together but also a pack of cigarettes in the UK. A psychologist of the time wrote a book on it. His name was William Reich. Essentially they want to repress everyone else as they are. Their anger is redirected love. They are not just a bunch of angry people who happened to dress well.
