Love the "ripple effect" philosophy! Met Ray Cappo at Middlesex County College around 1992-1993. All Krishna theory aside, he has a great insight, which exists in all theology. Choices we make in life have repercussions, both positive and negative, which can be likened to a ripple. Is can affect family, loved ones, yourself and make your world and their world better or worse! Good stuff.
I recall Ray staying after Shelter shows hanging out on the main floor just talking to people. Totally cool. I recall him mentioning that where he is in his religion he can legally initiate wedding vows or something like that which is cool. Briefly crossed my mind many many years later when I did get married. But, then I thought it might be strange having a Harry Krishna Mary an Atheist from a Christian family to a Buddhist. Then again my wife was an illegal immigrant and my best man a border patrol agent. Might not have been that weird for that day.
I think the universe got the wires crossed when it spit me out. Even when I do everything right, make someone else's life easier by sharing knowledge gained before they have to learn the lesson themselves, Get TNR certified and manage stray cat colonies, rescue other cats and some animals, etc. Seems like the Universe just has an assembly line running at full speed of kicking me when I'm up, kicking me when I'm down, kicking me on the way down, kicking me when I look to see if it is safe to get up, kicking me when.... I love YOT both for the music and the positive lyrics. But my life's soundtrack is Sheer terror I Spoiler and Vitamin X About to crack stuck on repeat.
@@ropearoni4 is that different from 76% uncertain? Was there really 2 bands with such similar names? Because i remember an 80s band called 76% uncertain...
When I think of Ray Cappo I'm reminded of the time when members of Born Against yelled, "Go back to the airport" when Shelter took the stage at the Anthrax in 1990.
John Watson was the maintenance man for my apartment complex in Gainesville, Fla. in the 1990s. Super nice, humble guy. One day he was working on something in our apt. and saw all these posters -- Agnostic Front, all sorts of skinhead regalia. Then he said offhand "I used to be in that band (Agnostic Front). As I recall, he was pretty active with the Hare Krishna community in Gainesville and the Alachua County area.
:45 The Quincy episode was a big thing. There was a CHIPS episode with a punk band too. they had a song "I dig pain". it was very stupid , but if you were a punk or a skater you rarely saw yourself on tv/ movies / etc
Can anyone here remember 21 Jump Street where Johnny Depp & the cushiony husky cop (Douggy) go to infiltrate the Klean Kut Kids at a show by the realworld Agent Orange surfpunk band? Title of episode was: X and Pastel Houses
The Pyramid shows were some of my favorite shows back in day. But CB’s was my home! I missed the A7 shows by about a year. My favorite venues in the 80’s -90’s were. Pyramid CBGB’s Rock Hotel Irving Plaza The World Coney Island High L’amour Wetlands
Will there be any footage (or a segment) on the dancers mentioned??? Carl The Mosher, Minus, etc.?? I've seen old footage and man, NYHC had some bad ass dancers.
Is that really why Daryl broke edge? That's fucking dumb. Edge Daryl was a force of nature. He's still awesome but damn, old school sXe Daryl was God tier. Why did Ray drink wine anyways? Wine fucking sucks. Headaches, red teeth, bad breath
I remember an aborted show in Danbury back 6 years ago where Ray and the band decided to not play because "not enough pre-sale tickets were sold." What a joke.
What a legend. His music changed my life
When I met Ray Cappo at the store Trash in Danbury maybe 1991 I acted like I was meeting the president probably. Very cool dude.
maciverandy1 yes i remember them!

Being from Danbury, it’s really cool to know that there is a legendary hardcore punk band that originated here.
I got to see YOT a couple of times at Fenders Ballroom back in the day, with 7 Seconds, U.C., Insted, etc. Great straight edge bills back then. 👍🏻

Wasn't Ray in Better Than A Thousand as well?
His best band ever!
Yes he was
Yes he was and he was in shelter as well. He had a two piece project called ray and porcell too.
Shelter, youth of today, better than a thousand, 23% uncertain, violent children, reflex from pain, drummer, did cameos on a bunch of bands.
@@ropearoni4 is that different from 76% uncertain? Was there really 2 bands with such similar names? Because i remember an 80s band called 76% uncertain...

I'd like to see 10 questions with John Watson and Mackie
+puke maloney every one of these guys interviewed for this series mentions John Watson, but info about him is hard to find
John Watson will get his "10 Questions". He lives in another part of the country and is only in NYC once in a while but it will happen.
