My mother told me she misses that day when Mr. Basu came my grandfather's house in late 90's. He was a great leader. I think every party's leader should follow his gentleness.

Whether Mr Basu was stalwarts or not,but he has been a failed administrator. May be he is a successful politician but failed miserably as Chief minister. He has taken our state 25 years backward. Hundreds of small and big industries have left West Bengal. His education policy was out and out faulty. Eradication of English from primary level, movement against computerisation are some of the examples. In health sector also his government performed miserably bad. Before 1977, condition of govt hospitals were better - better controlled administratively. Now, one can not take service from the govt hospitals - administration is so poor. For very serious disease ,all kolkata /WB people go to vellore and other places for treatment. Unemployment problem is acute in the state. The left rulers left the state in a very poor condition.

Do a comparative study of panchayat,municipalities,corporation run by the opposition during the Left and during TMC years. Above all,Mamata herself has admitted, Nandigram killings have been the biggest fraud perpetrated on the people of Bengal. Only once when he uttered the words 'historic blunder' he called the media next day and said that he too felt he had crossed the party line. That is him.
