Chris, I have always appreciated your straightforward presentation of how FSD performs, including where it does things wrong. This reinforces my confidence that when you rave, drive after drive about how well it's doing you are not exaggerating at all! Thank you soooo much for putting so much effort into these videos.
I could honestly watch it all day. I’m not a Tesla fan but I do love to see this level of autonomy. Disabled drivers like me would have a less painful long journey experience.

@@Glenhh thanks, it helps tremendously. There a cases when "some" people park to close to my car and without summon feature I wouldn't be able to enter it. Just that saves the day :)
9:09 I think it would be better for Tesla to give a different speed offsets to each driving mode. Chill 10%, standard 25%, hurry 40%. In 25mph zone, that would equate to 28, 31, and 35, respectively.
I agree with this, but definitely more conservattive than you. I think it should be Chill: 0%, Standard 10%, Hurry 20%. When using 25mph as the example, 10mph doesn't seem super extreme, but when you get up to 50+mph, 70mph is felony speeds. With a 20% offset you'd get 10mph over at 50mph which is plenty, and you wouldn't hit felony speeds until a 75mph speed limit.
@ But like currently, you could set those speeds yourself. And these speed maxes are not what the car will strive for, but rather what it cannot exceed. So it should be more liberal, so it can be allowed to briefly exceed the speed limit.

My major problem with FSD is passing on the Interstate. I will say I am on HW3, so that might be a contributing factor. However it's a safety issue at times, what it will do if there is someone reasonably behind you passing will cut over way too soon out of the passing lane. I would say it is nearly cutting off the person I just passed. That might be fine if I significantly faster than them, but often I might be only 3-5mph faster. That person has to brake then. It's crazy. If there is not someone immediately behind you, it will take its appropriate time getting back over.
May be a failed, dirty or intermittent camera. Sometimes recalibration will work, but may be something wrong with your car. I'm currently using hardware 4 so on the AI stack for interstate, but you are on hardware 3 so may still be on the older if-then code like what WAYMO uses.
Thanks for putting your wheels at “curb damage risk” than mine! I don’t trust this thing in the city still, too many right hand turns into curbs. Having FSD set to 40% above speed limit is insane to me. If i get caught doing 40% over the speed limit in my country, by a camera or a cop - doesnt matter, im paying a 420$ fine. If i get caught three times, my license is gone and ill have to get a new one. Also the fines increase everytime im caught. Lucky that the US is a complete wild west without real rules when it comes to speeding tickets lol
This drive is real good. For me on our HW/AI3 I end up swearing so much to the voice feedback that I later feel very sorry for whomever needs to review those. HW/AI3 either drives for 5 minutes flawlessly or does something really wrong every 5-10 seconds, there really is no in-between for some reason. I have never, not once had it go for more than 20 minutes without me having to disengage even on a nearly deserted highway. It's still FSD v11 on highway which is why there's so many disengagements and in local traffic I'm in the Greater Toronto Area and FSD just isn't able to cope yet.

For the roundabout, here's how they work here in roundabout land (France) - If you go straight: no turn signal when you enter - If you go to an exit on the left half of the roundabout: left turn signal when you enter - If you go to an exit on the right half of the roundabout: right turn signal when you enter When you take the exit of the round about: right turn signal For now FSD only turn on the right turn signal when exiting, i don't remember seeing it doing it correctly (well correctly for here in France, maybe in the US it's different) (Edit:typo)
Could you do a review of avoiding potholes or slowing down when it goes over raised manhole covers? I feel that I would always intervene during those conditions.
i think it’s not going wider because they are so close to “perfection” that they can make it “perfect” when it goes wide, including different parking modes
I think you should put the hardware and software version on the empty spots of the GUI so we know. I kept thinking I wonder if this is v4 or 3.5. I'm sure you say in the video but sometimes I'll either miss that or forget which one it was half way through the video.
I have a question that does not have any thing to do with Tesla, but does your Ray-Ban glasses have a sentry or event mode that film films a little bit before you click them and a little bit after or not? I am asking because since I have Tesla’s since 2021 i’m always wishing that I had sentry mode, but in my eyes like the most unusual things happen in my life and I wish I was an option to record what just happened. It happened so many times that I tried clicking something to save it, but I forget that I’m not a car lol
2 Q's for the full review: 1. Has v13 improved the turn signal behavior? On a 15min drive from home to work, I've been needing to cancel incorrect turn signals almost a dozen times, some of which fluctuate and some every time in the same place. 2. What are your speculations on when (if at all) v13 will come to HW3 owners like myself? And if/when it does, what kinds of differences do you think we might see in behavior between HW4 and HW3?
We should have FSD13 right way even if is 1x better because it will save life .I trust FSD always so if it make bad decision I’m screw… Good video thank you!
Love the V13 updates and videos. I saw your post on X about testing that OG spot where it always messed up. Can't wait for that video to be out. I totally forgot about that test until you brought it up on X. One last thing. Where can I get the music that you "generated?" Like, the first part where you sped up the video @3:12 I really like them. They're funny and really quite good, actually. Thanks again!

I would love to see a rural road with a 55 mph speed limit that goes through a little wide spot sort of "town" with a 40 mph speed limit. Also same sort of road with 35 mph corners. Thanks!
I would like to see how FSD handles snow/ice. If you can take it to a stretch that is really splippy (of course it would be best on a private road) and see how it handles ice.
I still don’t understand the logic behind 40% max speed offset being recommended. Doesn’t this indicate an either low confidence in the determined speed limit or wanting to go way too fast all the time? 35 in a 25 or 77 in a 55 doesn’t seem like a good default to me.
It will still go the speed it thinks is best. But on some highways going the speed limit will get someone hit. In Colorado, going 55 on I-25 when everyone is going 80... will end up getting someone hurt.
That is not the speed FSD will go or even strive to go. It will always choose what it deems the safest speed given the present road conditions. The "set speed" is simply the max speed you are allowing it to go if it finds itself in an "emergency" situation and will probably be for a short burst.
@@ryanmarbut1035 maybe the solution is to have a target speed set in settings kind of like it was before and then have an upper limit max. It just seems like it does strive for that upper limit in these FSD 13 videos, but of course I have not gotten to try it myself yet so maybe it won’t be as bad as I am imagining. Also, this is all moot for unsupervised where presumably Tesla would take more responsibility for what the car is doing.
Chris, thanks for all the great FSD13 content🎉 Theoretical hard question for robotaxis or Waymo safety: What about vulnerabilites with bad actors putting IEDs or even timed release chemical weapon sprays inside the cabin? How would Tesla or Waymo or other driverless systems counter these potential threats? Thanks again❤
I think as a head nod Tesla should do an end of year wrap up email on the volume of data it received from you. I watch my network and see the vast amounts of data uploaded to their data centers. Showing our data contributing to this end goal would be solid. No different to Spotify or apple music stating what you listened to this year. I think this would take minimal effort and encourage data sharing.

For the roundabout, here's how they work here in roundabout land (France)
- If you go straight: no turn signal when you enter
- If you go to an exit on the left half of the roundabout: left turn signal when you enter
- If you go to an exit on the right half of the roundabout: right turn signal when you enter
When you take the exit of the round about: right turn signal
For now FSD only turn on the right turn signal when exiting, i don't remember seeing it doing it correctly (well correctly for here in France, maybe in the US it's different)
(Edit:typo)
Could you do a review of avoiding potholes or slowing down when it goes over raised manhole covers? I feel that I would always intervene during those conditions.
i think it’s not going wider because they are so close to “perfection” that they can make it “perfect” when it goes wide, including different parking modes
I think you should put the hardware and software version on the empty spots of the GUI so we know. I kept thinking I wonder if this is v4 or 3.5. I'm sure you say in the video but sometimes I'll either miss that or forget which one it was half way through the video.
One clue is that v13 is only on HW4
I have a question that does not have any thing to do with Tesla, but does your Ray-Ban glasses have a sentry or event mode that film films a little bit before you click them and a little bit after or not?
I am asking because since I have Tesla’s since 2021 i’m always wishing that I had sentry mode, but in my eyes like the most unusual things happen in my life and I wish I was an option to record what just happened. It happened so many times that I tried clicking something to save it, but I forget that I’m not a car lol
Ha no, but I also wish it had that
@ I’ll ask zucky for it 😂
2 Q's for the full review:
"I'll show you how "Chill Mode" works and the video speeds up! 😅😂
It's interesting to understand how each mode works, as it will appeal to different types of people.
I would love to see a rural road with a 55 mph speed limit that goes through a little wide spot sort of "town" with a 40 mph speed limit. Also same sort of road with 35 mph corners. Thanks!
Will FSD start driving with a door open or the trunk left open?
No
I think those were the roundabouts i drove to and from Legacy sports, quite fun
The masculine urge to start an emu farm in Michigan
I would like to see if u can Summon from a top floor parking garage while u wait at the bottom
Can't wait for FSD to take off in EU.
What is that Camera sign next to the doors locked sign? I've not seen that on my M3.
The "set speed" is simply the max speed you are allowing it to go if it finds itself in an "emergency" situation and will probably be for a short burst.
it s not default speed. it s the maximum speed possible.
@@FritzFreund yeah, fair enough. I guess that is the tough thing about it being an absolute max.
Chill mode is the new minimal lane change option. They need to dial in speed for it though
That song is awesome 😭
Impressive, but it feels more confident in california. Need more mishigan/mischigan (however its spelled) training data.
Perfect BMW parking job at the end.
Would be cool to see a side by side of old fsd vs new fsd on the same roads
That music during the sped up video is fantastic 🤣 any chance to include that in the description to download?
Also I love the FSD AI music! 🎶
Chris, thanks for all the great FSD13 content🎉
Theoretical hard question for robotaxis or Waymo safety:
What about vulnerabilites with bad actors putting IEDs or even timed release chemical weapon sprays inside the cabin?
How would Tesla or Waymo or other driverless systems counter these potential threats? Thanks again❤
I think as a head nod Tesla should do an end of year wrap up email on the volume of data it received from you. I watch my network and see the vast amounts of data uploaded to their data centers. Showing our data contributing to this end goal would be solid. No different to Spotify or apple music stating what you listened to this year. I think this would take minimal effort and encourage data sharing.

Pearl Harbor day
@@helixspiral ah, okay! Thanks
How did you switch to chill with the right steering wheel button? I can't get it to do that on my Model X.
Hoping on HW3!
