Polystyrene and pvc are hard and brittle at room temperature. Polystyrene is solid at room temperature but flows when heated above 100 degree C its Tg, after cooling it becomes rigid. For pvc by adding small amount of plasticizer its tg becomes -40 degree C so it becomes soft and flexible.
