He did get nominated though. It wasn't that underrated. And by the way, he won a golden globe for the score

@@joycericavedasto824 oh God I just googled it and he wasn't even nominated. That is so ridiculous! First man's music score was out of this world. How in god's it wasn't even nominated?! Ah! I feel sorry for the academy. But yeah it doesn't realy matter. He won our hearts😃❤
Hurwitz is currently the best composer in hollywood
He's good but you need to check out more composers (you can skip Zimmer).
Zimmer, John Williams, Giacchino, Desplat, but Hurwitz is definitely up there.
Also and Carter Burwell to the list.
Vangelis, Guy Farley, Hans Zimmer, Jhon Williams,, Giacchino, Desplat, Howard Shore, Kaus Badelt and many others, but Justin Hurwitz he is very young, and extremely competent, I believe he will still win a handful of Oscars!
I agree. When it comes to creativity and mind blowing melodies, even though he's super young, he's up there among the greatests.

I am hearing a lot of Mia and Sebastian's theme here Justin. 🤔
I love it.
Yeah, the main melody in First Man has a fleeting resemblance to Mia and Sebastian's theme - the way the melody rises and falls at the start. But the notes are different between the two - First Man's theme is in a minor key, La La Land's theme is major!
A lot of composers do this. Especially if the emotions in the scenes are similar.
This film was disrespected in so many ways. Smh.

Theremin. It's mostly used in sci fi movies and gives that characteristic eerie sound of the extra terrestrial.

Everyones got a Bonner for Ryan but man I couldn't have been less interested in his character. I get he's going for realism but there was absolutely nothing to feel from the way he acted.
