- In this video we are hydro scrubbing a single family rental property out from a clean out on the side of the house. It appeared to us that the sewer had been backing up for a while do to the trench that was dug out to help relieve the water away from there property and over to the neighbors. We jetted out several times to open the sewer line of all sludge. After putting the camera down the line and finding heavy root intrusions the landlord asked for a quote to excavate the clay pipe and replace the sewer in the spring with PVC pipe.

Drain Pros, I was wondering what size hose are you using and what would you recommend for jetting residential homes.
We typically use a 1/2” hose that’s 500 feet long.. sometimes we’ll use out 1/4” hose that is 100’ if the pipe diameter is smaller! 👍

I wouldn't be surprised that the only reason they had you come out a take care of the problem was either the neighbor's called the health department or threatened to do so.
Honestly your probably more right than wrong! As sad as that is, definitely not very neighborly 👍

I live in an old house with several large, very old trees by the sewer line. Ive used root killer as a preventive measure for years and never had problems. My neighbors are constantly having root intrusion. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Simple and small actions today could save you THOUSANDS in the future

Could only imagine having my neighbors poop pipe trenched straight to my house like a septic tank. That would make even the most patient person go crazy. 😂 crazy world we live in 💚👍
Maybe get a smaller portable hose and smaller root nozzle for those kind of lines. Bigger isn't always better 😆
Of course theirs a black cat it caused the sewer to get clogged in the first place

Thanks Kempinger! I’ve been doing quite a bit of stuff in the office lately but it’s always nice to get back in the field and jet! How are things going with you guys? We have a estimate out to the home owner to dig up the sewer up, pretty sure they end up going that route! 👍
@@DrainPros Thx 4 the info Basically we are fine.. We have a significant increase in Corna19 cases here, this time also in Berlin. So that as from Monday on we have another lockdown "light" for initially 4 weeks ...We do that to hope that Christmas will still take place halfway normally
