Great Idea Jonny! It's brilliant in it's simplicity. This kind of pot is widely used among japanese outdoorsmen. Some kits include a wooden cutting board as a lid which is far less useful than a metal one. With a metal lid you can use it as a little plate, or as a grill. Most of the oriental versions also have a steaming tray, which is very useful if you do steam you food like I do, but also great for baking! That's right, baking food in the backcountry. The tray essentially turns the lunchbox into an oven. You can either dry or steam bake with such a configuration. Though for any for this to happen the rubber/silicone seal has to be removable. The price is not bad, at least as an early bird - which explains why it's already reached the kickstarter goal within 6 hours of the video going up LOL
Excited for the new stove! keep teasing us with info :p

Great ideas for stove, nesting pots and these lunch box's. I have just bought the stove and it will be coming out with me at the weekend into the Peak District, I have no doubts of it's performance, after road testing it I'll more than likely grab the rest to compliment it, thanks for the time and effort that's gone into the eventual production.

Only issue with titanium is the fact it doesn't distribute heat very well at all, as such, it gets hot right at the spot a flame hits it, but is relatively cool (in comparison) elsewhere along the bottom of the cooking vessel. What this means is that it burns any food (or even sauce) that is right above the flame area, and you're relying on the watery nature of the sauce to distribute the heat rather than the bottom of the cooking vessel. You absolutely cannot cook an egg or even bacon over titanium without copious amounts of oil to prevent the food sticking/burning onto the titanium, and this means you have to take extra weight in cooking oil or butter to cook without the scorching issue. The same issue exists for stainless steel and uncoated aluminium. I've found that the only mess tins which don't have a burning/sticking issue are the speckled black mess tins that are Teflon coated which are sold on AliExpress, as no other retailer sells them.

      Thanks Funkteon,
Yes - you have to keep things moving to avoid burning. This is true with all titanium pots. I’ll check out the black coated ones, I’ve not seen those before.
      Thanks for the comment ☺️

@@JonnyLOFI Or take a page out of the Firebox book and develop a cooking stone... that's how they they solved that problem with the BoxPot, which resembles your lunchbox, only it's made of steel and doesn't have a seal.

@@rakeshmalik5385 ah yes, that looks like a great solution. Though a little heavy for the camping I like to do 🏕️

      @@JonnyLOFI Can't argue with that logic :)
I'm sure I'll find a way to make use of the lunchbox for cooking anyway. My only disappointment is that I probably won't get a chance to use it with the LoFi stove before the fire bans hit this year 😑
We already have our first BC wildfire and it's already out of control.
Alkie stove maybe... or gas. Sigh.
