Im going to show my age now (63) but in Yorkshire when I was a kid there used to be a man who pushed a small handcart around the streets and for a few pennies he would cut keys and sharpen knives and scissors. In the borough market there was a little shop where you could take your umberella to be repaired!! Back in the days when things like umberellas were built to last and were worth repairing!
I've never paid for a public washroom. I wonder why they charge for it. Many years ago when my brother was very young, he ended up with ring worm. The Dr asked my mom if Johnny had been at the park and gone in the sand box... he said he had several children come into his office with ring worm. It was discovered racoons were using it as a toilet. That was about 60 years ago. My boys never had an issue with playing in a sand box except for me having to dig sand out of their ears, and hair. hahaha. Nice to have a day out shopping and a great saving on your Costa lunch.
That's a lovely bright bus! I used to do key cutting in my parents shop, In my teens. Always check the key works when you get home, as it can sometimes not work. We always re-cut for free if it didn't work.
Wow! Brings back memories - I went to university in Treforest 1995 to 1998 so Pontypridd was my local town (though I lived on Park Street and then Queen Street in Treforest) - I have never been back,(despite meaning too) it looks so different now, I don’t think the main street was even pedestrianised then? The only thing I recognised really was the bridge over the river and the park. Happy memories though
If I need the loo when I'm out anywhere I use cafe, pub, restaurant etc. Often much cleaner. Gone are most of the old Hardware/cobblers shops where you could get keys cut and knives and scissors sharpened
When I worked at a Dime store, a variety shop with lower prices, we cut house keys, and it was part of my job. Didn't cost very much in the late 90s. Don't know about now.
Charity shop prices have risen since the pandemic. The only one I find still reasonable now is the Salvation Army, I'm not sure if there's one in Ponty.
Hi.immo great video im glad they have changed the round abouts as my daughter fell when pushing it and got her leg trapped ended up calling the fire brigade 😑
If you haven't already done it just make the new key actually works in the lock. I had to take a key back four times to be recut before it would work 😄
Hello 👋 Imo, I really enjoyed seeing you in those charity shops and also can you go to Poundland shop next time. They have a great deal of clothes and everything you need they have extended their expenditure and I heard you can shop things for 50pence.I think that really would be interesting. Very interesting vlog,I had no idea you could get your keys cut in that shop. I thought it was just for shoes 👞 👟 etc Bye Imo❤❤❤❤❤❤😊
Well, you can get a half decent umbrella for about £5 usually and a key cut for about £7.00 (if you go somewhere other than Timpson but she did say she wanted a decent umbrella that might last - they never last with me as I lose them so I stick it £2 or £3 ones - I have heard of umbrellas that don’t turn inside out in strong wind but I think they are probably more expensive again

That park looks a lot of fun.
You’d love it if you had a bunch of tots to entertain.

You can normally use the toilets in either Costa or Alfred's that end of town Instead of the park as those 2 places are more hygienic x
Always feel the Pull to Wales, so wish I could move home.
@akmevans1613 and I'm trying to move away lol😂

Menopace :)
@@PlanetImo its red box , i get mine from supermarket, there is one a level up to progress to if need it later on x
Is menopace safe with the mini pill? I know you have to be careful with red clover (often used in those supplements)
Places with charity shops are always a draw for us. it's like treasure hunting xx
It is. I don’t think they’d be as much fun if you found what you wanted in every one of them
Good video, imo
