I think it would be, the versatility lets you carry your books, laptop if necessary, pens and other supplies nicely in the front compartment. I just don't know how you feel about the size of the bag. It is a bit bulkier than a regular school bag, but with that said it could hold everything you wna throw at it.
personally I think so, I've brought it on two trips, one international and one domestic. it did well in both trips. I also think it is a decent size, not too small not too big and bulky. I mean one thing thats been bothering me is that the mesh net for the water bottle on the side is a little tight only able to fit a common plastic water bottle. But i mean its totally up to you and your uses. the versatility makes it easy to pack whatever i want
