Neat stuff (Hugh plus for the console performance. One of my gripes) but I really hate the robo voice. Surely you can get someone to do the voice overs? I'd do them for free for you, I'm sure many would!
For the VMID, it would be nice to be able to define the range for containers and VMs separately. I like to be able to identify containers and VMs by their ID
Cool upgrade! Will the virtio-GPU display act as a GPU of some sort? some programs like fusion 360 require to have a GPU installed; will this bypass that error?
Maybe they want not GPU but it's feature support? Because virtio-GPU is already GPU but a rudimentary one. VirGL on the other hand provides OpenGL features, so the program expects them, it will run
UEFI Boot from USB doesn't work on my Laptop Lenovo P50, but I can't shut down the seruirty boot option as the bios are locked by other people, can only use Debian -> PVE installation method, 😞
Hello, I am newbie and I love PROXMOX, I have problem to install old os mswin2008r2 on proxmox 7.2.3, is it possible and still supporting ? thanks before for your help
Just worried if I update the PCI IDs will change and won't come back up. As my first install did this when I removed a gpu and the whole thing had to be started again
So I just upgraded and faced a little problem: I have a backup location configured in my storage.cfg which I NFS mount from a QNAP NAS. Problem was: Proxmox 7.2 has a 5.15 kernel and there seems to be a problem with the NFS client code; it cannot mount from QNAP NFS server (I found some Github issues stating this problem) ==> it just hangs in the mount command, that is, you have hanging processes from pvedaemon.service and pvestatd.service. This leads to GUI (PVE Manager) hickups not showing VM state and storage state correctly, instead, just a question mark is displayed. Solution is to specify "options vers=4, soft" as NFS mount options in storage.cfg. Then the mount works, and the GUI hickups are gone. Hope this information might help someone.
What about live migration and snapshot with shared block storage (we have SAN infrastructure) ? What about incremetnal backup (like change block tracking)? What's about API (REST API) for backup? What about third-party app for backup?
They have a backup software (free) that ries incremental... Where have you been for the past few years? There are a few 3rd parties that can do incremental as well. Some require agents in each VM. They can't make 3rd parties care and they developed their own for free for you. Don't see what you are complaining about at this point.
I've had to go back to 7.1on one box as I've had a tonne of issues with 7.2 from VM's all running slow, cpu usage at 100% to GPU passthrough no longer working.

Backup notes template is a huge plus!!! Thank you!
Same here. It'll make things alot easier to find the right backup image to restore.
Love the template notes for the backups. It'll make things alot easier to organize them.
Yeah it's awesome. I may no longer need to maintain a spreadsheet of VM names vs VMids
Love the Notes and that its in markdown
Really great work, as usual! Thanks for doing such a good project 🙏
🔥🔥🔥💜
Congrats on the new release, great features as always!
04:57 - this override options should be nice in clone actions too.
I liked it... there were some very expressive changes mainly in the VM restore.
Good to have the VMID per node, for example pve1 its range is 100 and pve2 200 like VLANs
Yeah it's awesome I've been wanting this feature for ages to avoid VM ID conflicts on shared PBS back storage from multiple PVE hosts or clusters
Brilliant thank you!
thanks for the update on 7.2 I am just getting into Proxmox, and this is helpful. I like all the notes functions. But the digital reader is horrible.

Thank you so much!
Wow that's great 👍
What's with the robot voice? 😁
Cool update though
Thank you

You need a GPU for it to work, it doesnt act like a gpu

how can a MacOS VM use the GPU from proxmox host without passthrough? ..virtIO-gpu or virGL-gpu? ..is there a guide?
Amazing

When is automated snapshot configuration from the GUI coming?
thanks for a great product. how do you make the syntch voice?
😍

Is it easy to upgrade from 7.1 without a paid subscription? Without affecting existing VMs? This is only my home lab installation...

Just press the upgrade button in the gui lol

Which speech synthesis program did you use for this video?
@3:43 Why don't I have the "File Restore" button in my server? Is it a beta feature?
You need Proxmox Backup Server
02:05 - Yes but why the lower vmid is always 100??? Why not let it free to the user choise 1, for instance???
I think it's more about logical grouping thing. I mean say 100 series could be your containers, 200 series could be your VMs and etc.
Not that great! when a VM hung, promox 7.2 couldn't even stop it. I had to restart promox so that I could remove the VM image. Odd.
I. Want. VirGL.
