*99.99 percent of the armchair critic down below have no clue about a Tesla. Tesla actually tests their cars in water up to the windshield!! Even though they don't recommend it, the car will do just fine. They know lots of ICE people try to drive in deep water and will stall, they made sure their cars will never stall in deep water or die soon afterwards from water damage. The battery has watertight seal as well was the inside is design to keep water out in deep water.* *There's a RUclips video showing Tesla testing their cars in a deep water pit they have on site.*

Why would it "not" be the same; you expose a battery pack to salt water intrusion; and if it does get in you have the potential to short circuit and it may not be immedaite it can be days or months later that corrosion creates a short circuit. Movement creates pressure; which tends to force water into things, time of exposure surely isn't a good thing either.

Yeah the electric seats are great on my Tesla but I live in SCal so nowhere as cold as elsewhere. You can set departure time so the car is nice and cozy before you get in it, hot or cold days. But for those that live in areas suitable for solar panels it's a no brainer, esp. if you also have TOU rates and net metering. I pay nothing to drive around but then I also have life-of-ownership free Supercharging and a new SC station opened 0.3 miles away so I really lucked out. Even long distance driving costs me nothing in 'fuel', sure beats pumping gas, ymmv.

Too many people are 100% clueless to what a Tesla battery pack is. They are round lithium cells that are chained together. Basically they are a bunch of 18650 batteries(which are 100% sealed and waterproof by themselves) that are also in a sealed case. Additionally, they are assembled in a way that makes it almost impossible for all of the batteries to burn at the same time unless the car is literally inside a fire. There are about 175k car fires a year in the US. EV's accounted for 256 of them last year. Tesla's accounted for less than 100. If you like numbers: "Battery-electric vehicles are only . 03% likely to ignite, compared to 1.5% for gas-powered vehicles and 3.4% for hybrid vehicles." So if you're uninformed, read up. You're making yourself look bad. I'll take my Tesla over any ICE in floods.

Salt water corrosion; Once Corrosion starts it doesn't stop, it will progress unless someone finds it and removes the corrosive agents. If you are unaware of the corrosion - for example it may leack inside your battery pack; then; it is a matter of time before the battery catches fire. For those unfamiliar, a petrol vehicle can have a snorkel attached to the air intake and you could fjord a deep river; this is done frequently with military tanks and civilian cross country vehicles.
