Ah we need a high fantasy fighting game. Like the standard roster and control style, but full of not just sword dudes, but all the fun lil goobers of fantasy: mushroom people, merchants, wizards, farmers, mages, unconventional weapon experts, humanoid creatures, gremlins. Even something like the many oddities of the Zelda world.
My theater class would actually do something similar to this. When we got a character, we would imagine them as a video game character and do a sprite pose and a few special attack moves.
Ours does somthing similar, before every performance our tech person records a tiktok of our bows (different types of people bowing or something along the lines) and a "shake my hand in character" for each character

It looks like a game about an evil wizard trapping everyone inside a ren fair and geanting them powers that relate to their out of costume selves and the games story is actually about embracing your flaws as well as your qualities and using costumes not to hide them, but to compliment them

I love when humans have idle animations lmao. From jinggling bracelets, ruffling hair, the shaking limbs warmup, popping lips I guess they're called tics but lool when someone has a specific one i find it adorable

I once had a group Halloween costume where we had a giant poster board frame made to look like an arcade machine, and each of us would hop out into the frame and showcase some moves, while someone else said in the deepest voice possible "CHOOSE YOUR FIGHTER" The adults who chose to play along would put candy into one of the "coin slots" beside one of our names, and then we'd start figuring with socker boppers and nerf swords. Man, that was almost twenty years ago. I wouldn't feel this old at twenty eight!

I don't know why RUclips recommended this short to me, but it was hilarious, accurate and exactly the reason that I let character idle animations play when I play video games. These were a delight to watch and everyone involved totally nailed it 😂👍🍄
There is something beautiful about idle animation. Just first the normal bouncing stand, then the acting out the character with special animation and back to bouncing stand. I just love it. (and yeah I know those are real people, but I am still allowed to love it!)
