I exactly know where, when and in which recordstore I was when I saw this Guerilla records gem wating for me in the records basket, and believe me, it's been over 2 decades ago. First heard this back in 1993 on the Steve Mason Experience Show. Shame on the BBC that they didn't make all those old BFBS-broadcast episodes available online yet, since it really is worldwide cultural inheritance. Many of those records played in that radio show are now very rare cultural gems because the labels broke down and records are no longer available in good quality. Steve Mason had a feel for that and was just in the right place at the right time to broadast that music. Do you understand BBC, or should I speak esperanto to you? I have been writng the BBC before about this, without getting any reply. Maybe some more people can get their attention on this topic?
Switch off the bbc they ain't real djs just play what there told to play its a club boring one at that although bbc 4 and the worldservice is just fine
My Northern Exposure CD was stuck in the deck for many months back in '97/98ish because of this song, left it in from the beginning to lead up to this song every single time :)
Still in the bag and getting rinsed often. Serious set opener and a lot of elements making it mix perfectly into house genres. Plus a lot of tracks were ruined with a cheesy female vocal but this one is just perfect
In my imagination it's about a young girl on her first ecstasy experience. She is a bit overwhelmed and severely dehydrated. Two divine creatures, let's say angels, appear and give her water from a vine leaf and save the ecstasy trippin girls life. ✨
Im really digging this groove. reminds me of some moments Christopher Lawrence created. That deep introspective sonic journey which is both harmonically pleasing and thought provoking. I love the place this music creates. At times I question if this music reveals a deeper meaning for humanity when heard through its wonderful arrangement. I think I know myself better if that makes sense?
