It's the cockpit emergency exit. Unlike on the 737 the windows on an Airbus A220 are fixed and don't open for an emergency exit path for the flight crew. Same on the Boeing 787 which has a dedicated emergency exit in the cockpit as well.
This plane was created by Bombardier in Canada as their C-series plane....Airbus bought them out from Bombardier after the plane was created and renamed it the A220...the purchase had to do with import tariffs imposed by the U.S. at the request of Boeing who tried to prevent this plane from being sold in the U.S.

I worked on the flight deck of the A220 very early on some 15 years ago. Even built a mock up for sizing
