Filthy Rich…. How apt. I don’t know how people can be as rich as they are and see people starving to death and struggling to live and not do a damn thing about it. I’m not even saying they have to go full on mother Thresa here but there’s a lot of good they good do but won’t…

Part of the ethos of the place was to stigmatise the people and take away any self respect they had. Thank you. This message is so important. Dehumization is at the core of the atrocities committed by Hitler and the Nazis (and other authoritarians). A regime my parents barely survived as children, parents who told me all their stories when I was a child. I understood the extreme danger of dehumanizing people from a young age.
So much meanness, just for the sake of meanness. It says more about him than the vulnerable people he mocks. The homeless are not less than Jesse Watters in the eyes of God who loves us all.

When my daughter was "10," she was in the hospital for 10 months. I had recently been divorced, so fortunately I had enough money from the divorce settlement to pay for some of the hospital bills. Years later I became homeless. It was extremely scary. I almost committed suicide. I was ashamed and embarrassed. However, I did choose to live for my children. I'm "76," now and my three children are highly successful, in all ways. Anyone who chastises another for being homeless is a vacant, shell of a human. We should remember more of what the Old Testament had to say about Nations, Poor leadership and, what befalls those nations, regimes that proved their evilness to the eyes of the world.
When I was about six years old (think 1949) a horse-drawn wagon came down our alley driven by a man with very black skin. My mother explained God had made some people black and others ‘red’, ‘yellow’ or ‘white’. Other than that there was no difference. People, she said, should be judged by what kind of person they were. Hey, I was six, and my mother was never wrong, so that’s how I grew up seeing the world.
A very, very good lesson from your mother. It's too bad Progressives have totally upended that lesson, as they judge people solely by the color of their skin and never by the content of their character.
So sad - I see the same thing here in B.C. - a family member died and we had a large celebration of life . There was lots of food left over and I asked if I could take it to the homeless tent city . I could not believe the comments and I was told definitely not. So much food was thrown away. Bags of buns, chips ,sandwiches went into the garbage. I lost all respect for the person who said no that day.
The Trans Bathroom issues just highlights that the design of public restrooms are a travesty. I once attended a seminary in a building where there was hallway of small "closets" containing just a toilet. These were small rooms the size of a walk-in closet with just the plumbing. No question of privacy for the occupant. No separate accommodations for Men / Women, so no issues of having enough stations broken down by who would be in the building. Outside this hall were the sinks. Bottom line... there are other options to do things the way they do. BTW: "Nothing but drug addicts" are still somebody's child, somebody's sibling, possibly somebody's parent... often somebody who has seen atrocities in service to the defense of our country.
I studied propaganda as a psychology student in collage. One of the main ways to detect the worst kind of propaganda is to look for dehumanization of others. We are all human beings and deserve to live without fear of being who we are.
I know, right? We rank abstractions over expressions of humanity -- abstractions like "freedom," not understanding what soul sales have been made to get it.

If and when Trump begins messing with our established institutions... We will realize a significant increase in homelessness. Trump is incapable of making America great if,... He refuses to embrace all Americans as his Brothers and Sisters. Trump has so much yet to learn of the realities of real human existence and life but, this is what happens when a nation elects the lowest common denominator, money, wealth and, expects a person with lots of it to become a worthy leader.
Do you think Jesse Waters ever heard the parable about the Sheep and the Goats? It's been a few years since I read the gospels, but I'm pretty sure there was something Jesus said to the effect of "I was sick, and you comforted me; naked, and you clothed me; hungry, and you fed me".
Denver has a significant amount of homeless people. In large part, they migrated to Colorado from other states. Maybe they heard that Colorado is one of the freest states in America. Perhaps they are seeking freedom and liberty. Just like the forefathers of this nation. I am proud of Colorado. Homes solve homelessness, Fox News does not (pass it on).

Last year Jessie whined about his $100. Thanksgiving turkey. Come to find out, it was a Trader Joes designer turkey. This year his own mother doesn't want to spend Thanksgiving with him.
First let me say Happy Thanksgiving because I am responding to this Thanksgiving morning. When I was moving with the help of my youngest daughter from Montana where I had been in a nursing home for 2 years 2 St Louis where I was to live with my oldest daughter I said to my daughter that as a transgender person that if I was able to accomplish anything in those two years in the nursing home is that I was able to show the staff and other residents there that a transgender person is just that a person not someone to fear not someone to verify . The other thing I wanted to say this morning is that I am an avid reader of cop type novels. In one of the novels I don't remember which one if I did I would give a nod to the author but in the homicide department they had a banner up on the wall that said either everyone matters or no one matters meaning that no one is less than human and should be treated the same way as has everyone else. It is become my mantra in that everyone matters.
Most homeless I have met don't do drugs, don't drink. They got there because one thing went wrong. People who think they are "safe" are only one emergency away from being in the same spot. (I don't want to be negative and say some people may find out the hard way next year) Reminds me of a story that someone told me once of a homeless man that went to a church for a service, and was turned away at the door. Someone at the door with him said "It's okay, I've been trying to get in for years!" Wonder who that was...
“People who are experiencing homelessness” are still people……with or without homes, and deserve all that is needed for a decent existence. FDR had plans to implement a Second bill of rights, among which were: employment; adequate income for food, shelter and recreation; decent housing; adequate medical care; education, and others. They were to be called the economic bill of rights. Too bad we still have not reached for this more perfect union.
Your videos appeared out of the blue in my feed, though I'm not upset by this--I'm more surprised by how I'm beginning to reflect upon what I've been focusing on in regards to Christianity, Faith and even Jesus. I still have a long way to go, I'll admit that, but I do think that I've been focusing on the wrong things. In reality, compassion, understanding my fellow humans and hospitality seems to be more important to The Lord than denominations and outward image. Thank you for your videos, they are pretty insightful in my opinion.
A co-worker of mine told me that the last time he went to his church, he was literally yelled at and was told to leave by his church leaders after mentioning that they should donate and gather food for the homeless for the holidays. And what's sad is that all the other members of his church went along with the church leaders. This is why Christianity is failing. This is why no one takes Christianity seriously or respects it.
Considering how many homeless in the US are veterans, and how much the right "loves and respects" veterans and active duty, one would think the right would be all over trying to do everything they can to help them. When people show you who they are, believe them.

The topic is of utmost importance. From the Jewish perspective, there are a number of levels of charity/giving -- and the highest form is providing someone with the abilities they need to maintain their lives. ("Teach a man to fish..." ) Created in G-D's image and "placed here." Yes, it goes back to Eden, and the Woman's arrival on the scene to HELP Adam realize why he was placed here. And within 48 hours, they were leaving Eden. And Eve gets a horrible rap throughout history for doing exactly what she was placed there for. Leading to a justification for male dominance and misogyny.
Once she got the wrong idea, her idea of help was twisted too. In practice, everyone who can should look out for everyone else who might not be able to. This came into realization with the post-Edenic life.
@@SeekingTheLoveThatGodMeans7648 -- There was no wrong idea. The walking talking serpent -- who was very cunning (wise) reminded her of her mission, and how the tree was there. There was a world outside of Eden in need of repair. She knew that staying in Eden would make her and her children tzaddikim. One who does teshuvah is MUCH closer to G-D than a tzaddik. The serpent alluded to this. The woman wanted her children closer to G-D, and that could only happen outside Eden. That's why she didn't even spend 48 hours there -- and could EASILY convince Adam to recall his mission. (Having just been brought to life, she knew it -- and saw the means through that tree. The tree that G-D put there for that purpose.)
The worst part is that more homeless are being created every day. More people not able to afford even the cheapest housing. The city I live in posted a story the other day saying more abandoned buildings were being turned into affordable housing. Their definition of affordable is over $1000 for a studio apartment. I have a decent job and if I paid that much for an apartment as a single person I would be living paycheck to paycheck even more than I already do. And stigmatizing homeless? They have always been stigmatized- anyone saying they are being glorified has obviously always lived a very privileged life.
I think that the problem began when we separated the humanity of Yeshua from His divinity. His humanity is a function of His divinity. And our humanity is a function of divinity. That's what it means to be created in the image of God.
Matthew 8:20. They call Jesus their Lord and Savior, but denigrate the things Jesus was. They put Jesus on a pedestal too high to reach, but do the opposite of everything Jesus told them to do. They sing Jesus’ praises, but it all rings hollow. We are a very small convent, with just two nuns in a small house with little space to share, but we continue to welcome homeless people to come and stay with us until they can get back up on their feet. If we, with little money and a house in need of repairs, can do this, why can’t they?

Such an arrangement is a blessing. There are other things than strictly personal homes that can be offered to the service of the Lord. Some of them are necessary institutions. But this doesn't diminish the use of personal homes when the person to be helped is pretty clearly on the up-and-up with their intentions.

Jesus was homeless and an immigrant. I shudder to hear the hatred towards others from people who believe they are Christians. “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” comes to mind.
I found myself homeless in late 2016 - yes, in part due to a situation of my own making. Slept for four months in a borrowed car; got a job with a guy who didn't care if I parked that car in his shop lot; saved and with some help from family, bought an old RV for 5k; then my mom died, my disabled wife had to move into the RV along with mom's cat. We lived in it until I managed to buy us our first house (we're both in our 50's) in late 2018. I'd moved into the RV the week before New Years of 16' and moved from the RV to the house the week before New Years of 18', go figure. Things happen; and yes, sometimes addictions are in play, but for every one you assume wants no help, there are 19 like me. My boss gave me a job and didn't hold my homelessness against me; my family saw that I'd saved half of the 5k and between several of them loaning me the balance - oh, and I paid both of them back, too. Before buying this house I am sitting in now, today. The first two years of videos on my YT channel were shot in that RV, FYI, so I have receipts.

There’s a catch 22 to anger with the MAGA mentality of dehumanizing others. We end up dehumanizing them, which is no better. I’m now beginning to understand what love your enemy truly means and how hard it is to follow the teachings of Christ. It’s much easier to hate and dehumanize.

I became homeless 14 days ago. The home I was renting for 18 years was sold. I work for a major IVY League University and still manage to get to work on time Monday-Fri. The housing costs are so high I am struggling to find a place. It is 2,200 a month just for a 1 bedroom and many have waiting lists, some 2-5 years. I am actually appalled the way homeless people are treated. I went to many agency's and well known charity's and all they could offer me is a tent and sleeping bag. I just want a warm place to sleep. I am not an alcoholic or drug addict. I just want to work and have a stable place to come home to at the end of the work day.
We all make choices. We see people who were so tempted by money they sold what was what is the heart of their humanity, their souls. “Two souls, alas, are housed within my breast, And each will wrestle for the mastery there.” Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, Faust
I learned not to enable negative reinforcing behaviors. To enable them gives them no reason to change and so the cycle continues. I am not responsible for the actions of others, only my actions and responses.
If people really, truly knew who we ALL really are, things would be so much better because we wouldn't be able to divide anyone into "other". We wouldn't be able to do what Jesse Watters did around the issue of homeless human beings. At the core of our "Being" is unconditional love, acceptance, compassion, non judgement. When we know we who really are, we know who everyone else really is, we share the same "Being". That shared Being IS "God". "God" is not a "being", not a separate entity out there somewhere that controls everything like a "parent" figure. Until people know who they really are, for many of them, there is an intuition of what we have forgotten, what became hidden and people search for what has been seemingly "lost". This "lostness" is due to all of our worldly conditioning and the egoic minds activities which cloud the Truth of our Being. What people are searching for is their "True Nature", the True essence of "I", a coming home to one's "True Self". This "Self" is not singular, not the mind identified "me" that most people take themselves to be. It is entirely free of all of the egoic minds identifications and activities and at the same time, it includes all of it. This realization of who we really are is what the word "God" points to even though the word is now too loaded to be really meaningful. "God", as a label, could be said to be the light of pure Awareness/Consciousness of which we are all an expression, without which, there would be nothing. The truth is that humans developed the ideas of "Gods", they developed the systems of religions and did it with human imagery, with human emotions in an attempt to make sense of what has been "lost/forgotten". Unfortunately, these systems of religions, all of the various "Gods" and beliefs therein, have, more often than not, been about collecting more power and wealth, about control of others, in the service of "ego". For the most part, they have not been in the service of "Truth". This is what I saw, what I "remembered" after a profound NDE. The NDE was a return to Pure Awareness, Wholeness. Everything human fell away, ALL of it. What I brought back from the NDE, I have attempted to share here, even though words, at best, are just pointers. Who we ALL really are, is Love.
I grew up in a middle-class family in the mid-west. Then I found myself living in a poor and dangerous neighborhood in Brooklyn. The culture shock was intense. So many things I saw left me slack-jawed and befuddled. I had never seen poverty like that, didn't think the US had poverty like that. Homeless, druggies, beggars... It was horrible. Understand, NY has many wonderful and amazing aspects as well - I bring it up because we're talking about those who are not surviving. You wonder how I ended up there. I was a college student. So I had a loving family. I had a home far away where people don't get shot. My time in Brooklyn was not permanent and I would soon be back where people are polite and the streets are clean. I got my degree and I left. But those people are still there. They can't leave. I did nothing for them, nothing of any lasting value. I just took care of myself. It was a test and I failed it - not even realizing it was a test. "Their" problem looked so monumental and so much like NY's problem, not my problem. It's so easy as a student to worry about passing an exam while ignoring someone who's hungry. Your life is right up in your face. What's happing in someone's life, someone you don't even know is... invisible. I should have something wise to say now after all these words. Maybe it will come to me later. How can you see beyond your own privet world?
Easy there! Not so hard on yourself. You learned something that you can use to show kindness and love to others now and in the future. That’s what counts. Maybe God stuck you in that neighborhood to learn that lesson. I get to volunteer weekly at a foodshelf, where I can pass along acts of kindness and encouragement. It’s the best day of my week.

People say, they are "Pro-Life" but against helping BORN people.
Those people aren't "Pro-Life", they're just anti-choice.

Jessie clearly does not know God. 🙏
Your mother was very wise.❤
A very, very good lesson from your mother. It's too bad Progressives have totally upended that lesson, as they judge people solely by the color of their skin and never by the content of their character.

So sad - I see the same thing here in B.C. - a family member died and we had a large celebration of life . There was lots of food left over and I asked if I could take it to the homeless tent city . I could not believe the comments and I was told definitely not. So much food was thrown away. Bags of buns, chips ,sandwiches went into the garbage. I lost all respect for the person who said no that day.
Maybe you could have said "Take it to some neighbors and friends" but we get you.
the person may be going through a stage of grief that lashes out . But I don’t get it at all.
Jesus said “Birds have nests, foxes have dens, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.” So the home are really in God’s image.

I studied propaganda as a psychology student in collage. One of the main ways to detect the worst kind of propaganda is to look for dehumanization of others. We are all human beings and deserve to live without fear of being who we are.

This is why there are so many homeless in California. The homeless move from cold winter states travel to the warm weather of Calif.

Last year Jessie whined about his $100. Thanksgiving turkey. Come to find out, it was a Trader Joes designer turkey. This year his own mother doesn't want to spend Thanksgiving with him.
"To those who have, much shall be required". What is Jesse doing to respond to others' needs?
I'd say nothing 😔
Nothing to make his mom proud.
Now I understand why Davis County, UT objects to having a homeless warming shelters in their cities.
😢
(I don't want to be negative and say some people may find out the hard way next year)
Reminds me of a story that someone told me once of a homeless man that went to a church for a service, and was turned away at the door. Someone at the door with him said "It's okay, I've been trying to get in for years!" Wonder who that was...
Cause gosh they haven't faced stigma before.🙄😡😢
Thank you again for your wisdom and compassion, Rev Ed.
I'm giving thanks this year for God's bounty and grace. We are to love our neighbors as ourselves!
Amen
And amen again.
It's sad that rather than show love and compassion, some treat others so terribly. We are all God's children.
When will we let humans be human?
A co-worker of mine told me that the last time he went to his church, he was literally yelled at and was told to leave by his church leaders after mentioning that they should donate and gather food for the homeless for the holidays. And what's sad is that all the other members of his church went along with the church leaders. This is why Christianity is failing. This is why no one takes Christianity seriously or respects it.
Considering how many homeless in the US are veterans, and how much the right "loves and respects" veterans and active duty, one would think the right would be all over trying to do everything they can to help them. When people show you who they are, believe them.

Created in G-D's image and "placed here." Yes, it goes back to Eden, and the Woman's arrival on the scene to HELP Adam realize why he was placed here.

There's that paradox of the human heart again. Astounding.
Amen! Thank you for this thoughtful reminder of the image in all of us.
Thank you for your words Rev. Ed. I so appreciate what you say. My heart weeps these days, seeing how people treat each other.

Rev. Trevors, you are a genuine prophet! Thanks for speaking truth to power.
Thank you 🙏🏻
I grew up in a middle-class family in the mid-west.
