This boy was my hero growing up in the 60's and 70's. Beep, beeb, poor little Roadrunner never bothered anyone, just skating down the rink putting the puck behind someone, Roadrunner, those bruins are after you, Roadrunner, when you put the puck in their net their through!!!!!!!
My Favourite Hockey Player....And here is a good story about him. As a young kid I lived in the same town as Yvan . He was already a Canadians star. I'd see him driving around. He had a 1972 Pontiac Grand Prix. I think it was Blue. Probably the Big motor edition. One day I mustered up the nerve to go to his house and ask for an autograph. Early morning on a Sunday. It was Springtime as I remember. Knocked on his door. I got him out of the shower. He answered the door soaking wet in a towel. I sheepishly asked for an autograph. He wasn't mad, but had some postcard sized shots of himself in a basket by the door. Gave me one with his signature and I went on my way. A few months later I was in the hood again and I helped him rake some leaves. Fast forward 45 years. I have a young Son. I was with him while walking by a sports memorabilia store. His eye was caught by the Hockey player figures in the display case. I wasn't in the mood to buy one....but then I saw there was a Cournoyer one. I said.OK, I'll buy you this one. When we got home , I told him of when I was a kid and got an autograph from my favourite player...Yvan Cournoyer. So I opened my laptop figuring I would show him some video of the Roadrunner. Google gave me Yvan Cournoyer dot com..., so I clicked it. Well guess what, there is a Gay Porno start named Yvan Cournoyer, the page opend up and it was a full frontal of this guy. Laptop Lid quickly closed and I thought WTF, some predator has set up this site for the kid who happens to want to know more about the Great Yvan Cournoyer. No the actor is legit, happens to have the same name. Apparently also a big star.
In his 15 years with the Habs, Yvan averaged just a tad under 1 point per game, never had a +/- in the minus column (average +10) and maintained a SOG scoring percentage of just over 20%. Just as importantly from a fans perspective, he was spectacular to watch.
I crossed paths with Ivan ...I believe it was him ..in Nanaimo BC ...very briefly ...he was driving a Mercedes ...white ...convertible ...Canadians logo on plate ...brush with fame :)))

Yvan all class and speed. Typical Montreal Canadian 👍
Montreal Canadien :)
Yvan has a great sense of humor. Dennis Hull wrote some great stuff in his book about it.
So does Don. His Lenin line was a classic. Great interview.
Classy guy, Ivan ...gotta go, watch it later folks ...God bless
Class Act through and through

There's only one Yvan. And one Don.
Very witty.
Don was great on point then.
canadian hockey produces the best citizen athletes of all sports.
"Ya vonne"? Terry Mosher has a cartoon waiting for you, Don, just as he did for Foster Hewitt during the 72 Russia Canada series.
I am trying to figure out what you wrote...

That Canada goal by the way should never have counted because Esposito high sticked the puck. Clearly it was highsticking.
Espo's stick was below the shoulder and crossbar, that's fair play.
Is this a real bar?
Yevan? What?
