Hi hoon what's best hand grinder for espresso k max ,k ultra , j max ,mazzer omega ?
Hi Hoon, I was just watching our friend Lance Hedrick do a burr alignment on a grinder and it got me thinking, do you think the burrs on the Pietro are factory aligned? The Pietro is not cheap and that show be indicative of the labor involved, but still, being a bit of a doubting Thomas, I wonder, I wonder about my baby blue-ee 😁
What grind settings is used for a pour over on that grinder? Trying to dial in my Pietro as well
Hi there, I hope you are doing well! I have been watching your channel for a few week in anticipation of getting my barista express but I am having a problem with it now I have it and it is costing me a lot of money in coffee. Initially when I first tried dialling it in, the shots pulled quick but tasted great. I was using about 18 grams and getting 38 out in about 14 seconds but the taste wasn't bad. I have tried going finer but I just get this horrible sour taste if I go finer and the shot for some reason pulls even quicker? The pressure gage is also all the way max which confuses me even more. I have been adjusting the grind size and inner bur and I am just getting a bit confused now. Any tips?
I've been doing espresso on Pietro pro brew this week, as well. A few coffees were turbo shots at 0 setting, but just did one that was a 18:36 in 25 seconds at 0. It is work to grind it, but if I were making one coffee per day and was on a budget (relative to decent electric grinders), this grinder would be a good choice for an all rounder.
I currently have a defective C40 and want to upgrade. I am thinking about the Kinu M47 Titan (420€), Pietro (with Pro Brew burr aka. M-Module, 300€) or a Mazzer Omega X (380€).
I drink 1 cup of coffee (V60) in the morning and 1 espresso in the afternoon.
What would you recommend?
@@marvinl7450 My personal view is that Pietro with pro brew works. Especially if you modify it to go beyond 0, if wanting finer espresso grind (Lance's video on it shows how). Comparing it to my DF83 with lab sweet burrs, I find the Pietro has slightly less intense perception of flavor, but the quality in the cup is still quite good and is pretty comparable. For pourover, I'm totally satisfied with the Pietro...I get all of the flavor notes and clarity that I want.
@@niccoloaurelius1587 Thanks for your reply. Were you able to test/taste the Kinu M47 and the Mazzer Omega?
@@marvinl7450 nope!

Just bought the Pietro :)
Do you happen to know if "pure silver" is the natural colour of aluminium or if it's painted?
I bought it in black but I think that it is going to chip very fast
Good afternoon All
Hi Hoon 😊

Nope, I remember being on pencil sharpening duty in middle school. This gives me bad flashbacks, lol.
