Wow Baz, your reaction to the sound of this instrument was visibly moving, almost visceral. Could tell you really loved playing it. If anyone from Ohana is reading this, please you need to gift one of these to Baz, he deserves it for this incredible review. Love you Baz, keep up your amazing contribution to the Ukulele movement.
Gorgeous, gorgeous instrument, and it sounds great! Home run, Ohana! Someone is going to enjoy the heck out of that thing! Thanks for another great review! 😃💯
Love, love, love, love it! Ohana is one of my favorite brands. I have several. Always thought them as having very good quality for the price. I would love to have one exactly like this one. Thanks for all you do. I really enjoy your weekly reviews.
The price is out of my league, but I love Ohana and picked up my new fave uke (CK42) a few months back specifically for fingerstyle playing - a concert of sinker redwood and rosewood with the same killer resonance, warmth and sustain as this custom shop tenor. Ohana is really excelling. (Also, ERASERHEAD - RIP, Mr. Lynch.)
Lovely ukulele. Walnut never ceases to amaze me; it is both beautiful and functions better than most alternatives as back/sides. Warms and deepens without deadening. Curious what this would sound like in spruce or port orford cedar, though I know that level of brightness may not be for you. In all, too rich for my blood but worth every penny, seems to me. Bravo, Ohana.
Interesting hearing this on my end. The low g seems to be hitting the resonance of my soundbar and overwhelming the sound. It happens with a couple of youtube channels I watch too. Beautiful uke!
Gorgeous. Being from California, I've had my eye on getting a "California Uke" made with redwood and have been curious about the sound. That sounds amazing. You say you think it's better suited to picking over strumming and I'm wondering if that's a function of the wood or the build. I'm more of a strummer with picking mixed in.
That is a reasonable price. And the more instruments I experience, the more I appreciate pin and string-through bridges. It is not that I cannot tie the knots-I have friends who ask me to restring their tie-bridge instruments for them. It’s just that pin and string-through bridges have more uniform front-to-back pressure against the soundboard, and you don’t have 45+ pounds of string tension being anchored by nothing other than a thermally sensitive glue (I live in a subtropical climate and often play outdoors).’ Also love the tightly and straight-grained redwood top. Tops with ornate patterns may have great bling appeal, but acoustic value is what matters, and the top generates 90+% of the tone.
Wow! Fantastic sounding ukulele! I had the privilege to try one custom shop at João Tostes studio, and it is absolutely stunning! The neck profile feels different and it has an absurd sustain
Another top end Uke and top review. Have seen and heard Ohana literally carving a niche with Brad and their reputation is growing. Got to say one of the most warm balanced Ukes I a have heard for a while, definitely a finger style Uke. It seems a lot of top Ukes seem to leave the Luthier with Low G nowadays, which not all suit. Thanks for the review, really enjoyed it. Have a great week.
From my point of view the problem and main reason why I have not bought a Ohana Ukulele in a while is that they are really overdoing this Abalone Bling Bling thing. They have so many so sexy Ukuleles and then they ruin that classy look by throwing their instruments in a huge bowl of abalone. Yuk!

As expected from you, a helpful video. And what a beautiful-sounding instrument this week 🎵🎵 Thanks for your great channel!
Many thanks!
My kind of ukulele, warm sounding with a low G, heaven!
That is gorgeous!!. Both looks and sound. I'm glad it's sold Baz .. otherwise might've been tempted haha! Thanks again. Loved this!
Any time!
Redwood and Walnut are a really nice combo. Could have done without the abilone on the back. Thanks Baz
Thats a bloody nice uke. Yum!
Thanks for another great review! It's great that there are so many wonderful ukes to choose from! 😉👍
My pleasure!
Great review. I had no idea Ohana had such lovely high end instruments. I will have to keep my eye on them.
Started custom builds about 2023 i think
Gorgeous, gorgeous instrument, and it sounds great! Home run, Ohana! Someone is going to enjoy the heck out of that thing! Thanks for another great review! 😃💯
They certainly are!
Heaven in every way!
The combination of warmth and sweetness to the sound - wow.
Yep - really characterful

These Custom shops are a cut above!
Thanks for a smashing review of the first OHANA I have liked on review. I am out of the habit of buying Ukes just now but never miss your reviews.
Glad you liked it!

Yes, like that wood too - I have a Gibson acoustic guitar with a walnut back

Beautiful uke!
This has more volume than I remember hearing from a uke and a tonne of sustain too.
Love the Redwood!
Nice isn't it?
Sounds beautiful, and I don't hate the gloss.
Love the look, love the sound and love Eraserhead!
Yep - RIP Mr Lynch
Love the uke, hate Eraserhead. Not that anyone asked.

Agree with all of that Tom!
Was just thinking, "I'd drop the low G, although it rings on for all eternity" and then you said you'd drop it too. Spooky! Redwood, who knew?
Wow! Fantastic sounding ukulele! I had the privilege to try one custom shop at João Tostes studio, and it is absolutely stunning! The neck profile feels different and it has an absurd sustain
Yep - so lively - the sustain is insane

Thanks Mike!
That sound is so pretty.
Indeed!
Reminds me a bit of the Mainland ukes. Very nice!
I adore Mainland ukes, but this is quite a step above those
@@GotAUkulele Absolutely! I also agree with you about the low G.
Ohana! You overachievers, you! About time established manufacturers like Ohana and Kala stepped up their games! Great review, Baz!
Ha ha!
I've just bought an Ohana Pineapple Barry concert size.
Watch this space next week!
Roll on next Sunday then. There is a warehouse sale on. Can't wait to receive it
Actually - had my calendar wrong - two weeks time!
Two weeks it is 😊
That one is mouth watering. Love that Redwood and Walnut. I think that stylized "O" logo looks too much like Ortega's Logo.
Ohana had it first!
I’m wondering if the abalone is locally sourced from Mendocino as well. Lots of it there.
On the basis of the locally sourced tonewoods, i'd like to think so!
I have one custom uke, I may save up for another. I was thinking Kanilea but the Ohanas are really turning my head.
Yep - Brad is doing great thing!
Sounds almost Hawaiian. It is a finger picker’s uke for sure. Quite lovely sound. Could live without the abalone, but…
Certainly one for picking - it sounds beautiful
Is it me or do your reviews keep outdoing each other? Well done...Nice uke, I must consider this now LOL
Thank you!
Fabulous ukulele, way out of my budget.
And mine!

It's a material I dislike myself, though don't think it is over done on this one.
