    I see why this was a controversial case. I wonder if this person could have been charged with GBH and attempted murder instead of manslaughter. Would that have made the case ‘cleaner’? The ruling at appeal will likely have significant consequences on other cases.

    Wow what a controversial case, but I do support the outcome. Religious beliefs should be respected and victims should not be forced to undergo blood transfusions.

      I guess the point isn't that they shouldn't be forced. But the issue is whether them wanting to die has anything to do with the person who attacked them, i.e. going from GBH/ABH to Murder.
