Thank you I appreciate your sympathy it’s not the kind of thing I get from anybody not even from my family, my whole life has been but a whole lot of bull and it’s not like I gamble my money but no matter what I do no matter what I try shit always ends the same way 4 me multiple misfortunes day in and day out every one I have ever put my trust in has backstabbed me or flaked on me any conceivable chance imaginable those who didn’t would move by the time I could officially label them my friends I’m 23 24 in a few months and I never got to know what it was truly like to enjoy a friendship from anybody despite meeting 800+ different human beings in total and not to mention other stuff cause it’s too long of a story but long story short I have been getting body slammed the living sea r ay p out of me in the neck by life despite never doing anything to deserve it I am literally one of the most overly good overly selfless overly loyal human beings anyone could ever meet in their lives yet despite that this is the thanks I get I would call this Situation of mine a certain thing but the truth is I don’t think there is a big enough negative curse word to describe just how sorry my situation is sometimes I look at my situation and just wonder to myself did somebody even curse bc if not then what the hell even is this sorry sh1t in the dmn first place to begin I always leave myself baffled how I even manage to survive all of this jargon mentally and emotionally speaking but yeah that’s pretty much it so yeah.

It's a never-ending cycle; we don't really care about the money, it's all for the emotional energy.
How does anyone take crypto seriously when this keeps happening?
Because these scams work by making susceptible people believe they can win. Even my sister, who's normally fairly sensible, nearly bought into crypto just before it crashed because she had friends who were hyping it and she got a real FOMO hit. Thankfully she didn't invest, though.

Sometimes, these videos make me MAD. As a person raised by a father in finance and generations of tight spenders, sometimes the decisions are just "AAAAAAAGH" to my reaction.
THIS, however, triggers me in my field of expertise. I went to college for this. You should always, ALWAYS employ Cold Storage, preferably in the form of back up tapes (last the longest, easiest to store, hold the most data). If you don't have that much data, or it isn't literally critical to your financial or data existence, you should consider a back up external drive, like the kind you can get in Wal-Mart. Note that neither tape nor external disk drives protect against EMP's and electro-magnetic damage. For that, you will need CD''s, unless you are a professional electrician and can build a Faraday Cage..
If your life savings are on Bitcoins and the like, then you need to go further. First and foremost, get more than one back up. Invest in a means to copy the drive by Hashing. It costs more, but it will save you. Hashing verifies that the drive is an exact copy and, if you need to recover your funds, will allow you to do so. It will also be acceptable in court if that ever arises.
For the password, don't write it down on paper somewhere in your desk. Either memorize it or print it out and put it some place actually secured. At minimum, a personal save would work (put the back up there), but that can be easily drilled and stolen. When it comes to your life savings, the BEST thing you can do is to keep your Cold Storage back up of your Crypto-Currency Wallet in a safety deposit box at a bank vault, and keep the written password there, too.
