Dude the boots are a must. Warm feet is certainly something that should be a priority for all us photographers! Would be good to catch you in the new year!
@@TomMasonPhoto definitely mate. I don't walk in the field a lot like you but they certainly come in handy, especially in cold & wet days. Yeah, hope this covid thing passes and we will be able to meet!
Thanks Tom. I recommend hand warmers. You can get them reduced and I buy tons at a time. They last all day and I put them in my clothes or pockets, literally anywhere. Also great for keeping camera equipment warm and dry. Also suggest a small flask. Nothing like a hot drink when you need it.
Yes hand warmers I can totally understand for the worst conditions, I'm rather lucky that I don't feel it too much in my hands. I carry my flask with me on the daily, as you say, you just can't beat a hit drink when you're out all day in the great outdoors!
Nice and informative video. If I should add anything it must be the warmest gloves or mittens possible. At least here in Scandinavia. I have lost many many shots due to cold and numb fingers.
Great tip! and Yes I always find I use mittens along with liner gloves for the REAL cold, the mittens provide such a better way of keeping your hands warm in freezing conditions!
Great ideas, Tom. Just a shout out for synthetic down. Manufacturers such as Rab and Arcteryx are developing great products. No animals are used, plus they don't clump in the wet as much.
Great point! I'm looking into a synthetic jacket as well for the new season especially for wet cold places, invested in a Arcteryx shell this winter and its rather good indeed! Can't wait to get out and push it in the field. Although at the price I'll be trying to keep it rather well looked after!
Hey Paul, the 600 FL is on loan to me from Nikon, borrowing it for a few shoots and projects i'm working on right now, Still have my 300 2.8 as my primary super tele but for certain subjects its handy to have a little extra reach. The Z6 Ii has been sent back as it was pre production, I'm waiting a little while to see where I'll be investing my funds in 2021 as my Z6 I is still working well for me and as I mainly use for video I might wait and see what comes in 2021 before trading in as I'm in no rush and waiting to see about those new Z mount super teles! the 400 and 600 on the roadmap are certainly pulling my interest!
My most used gifts for wildlife photography.... A small 3 legged seat and a waterproofed kneeling mat.... Worth their weight in gold for this pensioner
Yes indeed, a folding chair and a kneeling mat are great, I must grab myself some knee pads this year, help stop those rocks causing me pain when I'm crawling around!
Hey Dalia, so the ACULON A211 8x42 are more classic style of binoculars than my Monarch HG's that still have great optics and quality. The wider style of lens positioning also can give a great 3d feel when viewing, however don't have the ED glass of my Monarch HG's meaning less corrections for chromatic aberration, however on a budget they will certainly offer great viewing experiences for wildlife with the 8x magnification and 42mm objects for low light viewing! Hope that helps, if you have any more q's let me know! Cheers, Tom
Well I picked up a D4 about 2 months ago, £550 with 180k clicks for use on multiple projects and I love it. AF system is great, images look clean ISO wise and the low res makes it perfect for a low light camera. Ergonomically it’s wonderful tool and it’s going to be a great addition to my kit and at £500 odd I don’t mind using it for more risky jobs and as a remote cam as well! Very pleased with my purchase
Adam your eyes certainly don't deceive you, but sadly alas it is not mine! I'm borrowing the 600 f4 for a few weeks for a few projects I'm working on so it has to go back early in the new year but It certainly is making me think about when we see the new z primes coming out! My 300 might get a big brother!
loving the 600mmf4, a present to yourself? (you know you're worth it) get a neoprene cover on it maybe! lol. Seasons greetings and hope you have a fantastic 2021, take care buddy. cheers. One of the most useful things you can buy is this, £19.00 so many uses, it's high quality, light and tasty straps to the camera bag, weighs next to nothing but is very tough and useful. www.speedgraphic.co.uk/trolleys_mats_seats/linpix_photography_mat/18164_p.html
Just got a 500mm sigma lens today. My first one!
OOsh enjoy, that will be ideal for some close up images!
@@TomMasonPhoto Thanks!
I had the Nikon version of the Sigma 500 f4 awesome glass enjoy!
Happy New Year mate! Lovely video and just watched it. Love those Muckboots mate haha may picked them up myself!

Thank you so much 😀
Was just searching this exact thing on google earlier today and later saw this was uploaded in my subscriptions!! Love it and thanks for the list!!
Awesome! Thank you!
Already have my mucboots, got these for Christmas a few years ago and are by far the best wellies I’ve ever had.
They are simple awesome, never been so comfy and warm in my boots. Looking forward to testing them in the snow if we ever get any!
@@TomMasonPhoto they’re perfect in snow. We get a bit where I am in West Yorkshire and they have never failed me yet.
Nice gifts Tom, definitely can recommend the backpack. Keep on going in 2021. Great videos overall!
The backpack is certainly a great buy, I shall keep getting the videos out for sure, really hoping to build on the channel over the next year!
Good to see you made it after the days at Ware Camera Club. I like a happy ending. :-)
Thanka For Making This Video. I've been looking forward to it and I LOVE It!!
Hey Tom, always look forward to your videos. Best of luck reaching 20k I’m already subscribed.
Thanks a ton! Hopefully we can make it before the new year!

I was going to ask about the big lens, think you have gone back to a 500mm, then at the your mention the 600mm FL. Did you keep the Z6II?

Thanks for your video's from this year. Is it the D850 on the tripod and not the Z6II? :)
