At 6:00, to be honest, I find it much easier just to add a set of your leather insoles. Replacing them every couple years helps with the longevity of the original insole itself.
IT guy, consider a hybrid model, some in-house tech support for time sensitive catalog items (IT catalog) and outsource what is 'commodity' services (email and such). You may consider having someone come in and help guide you based on your needs (today and as you grow). Wishing you continued success!
@@HeritageCast you can even monetize it, maybe take on some other businesses that could benefit from the excellent customer service they provide. Operational efficiency and maybe tag on new revenue streams.
I've had the sock liners pull up on every pair of boots I've ever owned that had them, always starting from the fronts. Could sock liners be Blake/McKay stitched laterally, along the front, and then glued down at the back?
I really need to make a trip out to Spokane one of these days, and have you guys measure my feet properly. As comfortable as my Roberts are, they just seem so long, with more than an inch of room in front of my big toes. I even used a Brannock to measure my feet before ordering. Yet, the widest part of the outsole seems to be about 1/4-1/2" forward of the ball of my foot.
What do you know about the Indonesian boot maker, Texture?? Watched a video about them by a RUclips channel that isn't fond of Nick's for one reason or another. I'm guessing it's because of the price that makes him such a fan of Indo boots... I'd rather save for longer to have my first pair of Nick's than settle for a cheaper and not as well made if Nick's. I'm really hoping I can save enough for my Nick's this year... Love you videos and sure I'll love your boots!!!!
By chance, the channel you mentioned - is he constantly having a conversation with himself in the comments? Sounds familiar. That guy might need a rubber room.
I have boots from both Nicks and Txture. Both companies make very good boots, but they're not really comparable. Nicks makes a tough, heavy boot. Even the heritage styles feel really sturdy, and will have great support for your arches and ankles. They will also be heavy, and some feel that they are too cumbersome for casual wear (I don't). At any rate, you can feel the work boot pedigree. Txture also makes a very solid boot, and their caftmanship and material are second to none. But in comparison with Nicks, they are more of a fashion brand. I wouldn't hesitate to take my Sanity boots out trail hiking, but I wouldn't take them into the forest, and I probably wouldn't do any manual labor in them. I'd easily recommend either brand, but it does depend on what you want and need out of your boots.
I mean you either support your people or you dont. And at some point this is when we need to cut ties with Mexico. And anything that comes into America must be from Europe or America. But this is coming... Vulture Capital and Human Smuggling cant last forever...
I have struggled with the question of horsehide leather. Responses to animal rights criticisms about leather in general frequently note that leather is a "by-product" of the meat industry. I support using all parts of an animal, it's the right thing to do. How does this relate to horsehide? Are horses raised just for hides anywhere? I am aware that horse meat is consumed in some cultures, but horses seem like they have much more value alive than as meat, and I would guess their growth/production per feed cost also would not compare to other species domesticated for meat production (which I really doubt has ever happened with horses). I should probably research more, but yeah horsehide leather just doesn't sit well with me either.
excited for the jacket.
Leather jacket in August is a baller move , Grant's in shorts😂
Boots & Shorts = ThugLyfe lol...
I can't wait to see your high arch wedge sole boot!

Leather addon insoles are the way to go.
Olive waxed flesh sounds amazing.

That V2 Jacket....
lol I was almost to the end and was going to flip out if he really didn't talk about that jacket.
Wish it wasn’t called the patriot. Deserves its own name!!!
have you ever considered offering boots with leather that has imperfections as a character line of leather?
Wedge with arch. HNW is flatter than ideal for me.

Have you changed the way sole stitches are done?
Looking forward to that 55 wedge.
That jacket though😮

Stay at the Davenport is incredible...
@@HeritageCast ...Nice place. But, do you know why I can afford $600 boots? A: It's because I don't spend $600 for 2 nights at a hotel. 😂
Which subreddit do we post questions for the podcast on?
r/NicksHandmadeBoots
Is Grant the only one not from the Land of Giants?

Navy waxed flesh ❤😁

Just say NO to horse leather, not a fan of horses being used for anything like that.. horses are not meant to be used like cows and pigs ..
you cannot purchase horsehides in the usa. they are sourced abroad.
