Again I would like to say that this is just my opinion and that you can do whatever you want to do. Hope y'all have a wonderful day tho!

It has become normal to me now and that’s sad…. That people comment negative things about me not having children

I hate it when people tell me that I will change my mind!! I won’t!! Like i know myself and I know what I want! And I know that I will not want kids!

i relate to this video so much, it’s annoying when people get mad about other people’s personal choices

Yeah I feel the same way it's nobody's business if someone doesn't want to have children

This has always been a struggle for me too. It truly IS tiring to hear all kinds of things that people say about women or people who choose not to have children. Thanks for speaking about this! It's so invalidating and makes me eye roll whenever people tell someone "you'll change your mind" or "you'll regret it" even til they're like 70...

Religions and the media emphasise this culture. Women are 'only seen as sex objects or mothers'. and grandmothers. It is a shock that a woman goes against this and has a strong opinion and has an identity all of our own. People find it hard to talk to women unless it is about familly. Female stereotypes need to change.

The late actor Alan rickman wanted to be a father but his wife rima didn't want children so he accepted it they were happy for many years until his death a few years ago I really respect him for not trying to pressure her into becoming a mother and respected her choice

You are not alone. I’m 41 and known since I was a child. Misery loves company. The people that have problems didn’t realize that they had a choice but caved to societal pressures so when they meet other people that say there’s an option not to have them. I’ve been through all the BS and I turn the tables on them and ask them how much debt they have and how much daycare cost them. In the US, depending on location, people pay $1300 a child for daycare. Majority of people that have kids end up in a retirement home. There’s no guarantee that you will outlive your child. Majority of people have kids for selfish reasons and can’t afford them financially and mentally. I’ve traveled the world by being childfree. My mentor and his wife paid off their mortgage by 38 and are 75 now. They’ve been to every country and still travel in their old age. They are childfree and have decent health. They said that they wouldn’t be able to have their life if they had kids. Be debt free and have your peace and be childfree. Kids are expensive and overrated! 😂

Just be upfront and say that this conversation is not relevant in any way to you.
If they're rude and very disrespectful, you should stop them from the get-go over discussions and cut it from the bud, even if they're your family or close peers.
Sometimes, letting them have an earful of what a slap is required. Traditional family members are repulsive to me, when they only want their traditional ideals and religious beliefs on the forefront whenever they want to talk to me about these things.
Life is already so stressful with our political climate and the world changing for the worst; CREATING A FAMILY IS NOT FOR EVERYONE.

I'm 38 and *still* get told "You'll change your mind, it's not too late." Um... I'm 38. To my knowledge, I've never been pregnant. And I still don't want kids. There is zero incentive in this world that could change my mind.

I hate how people force motherhood on women. If a man says he doesn't want children it's fine, very rarely they get to listen to the whole spiel of "OHHHH, you'll change your miiiind!!"
I've heard it SO MANY TIMES, I don't think I'm gonna change my mind. Since I was a child I preferred playing with anything but those baby dolls, literally ANYTHING. I would rather play with two matches I think there were pretty obvious signs since I was a child. People should stop pushing their opinions and life choices onto others. Never have I seen a childfree person coming up to people who want kids and being like "oh you'll change your mind!". It is really exhausting to be a woman sometimes (who am I kidding, most of the time)

Unfortunately there are many CF people who 'have accidents' and end having up kids, say if they don't believe in abortion. Many men don't use condoms too.. so there is bound to risks

I am 58, gone through the menopause, and no one asks me. When I was younger I didn't get the when will you have kids that much, I suppose because I am a bit non comformist looking and they kind of expect weird stuff from me lol I am also a bit tomboyish. As for being lonely at my age. I have a boyfriend who is CF, and I have lots of hobbies and I do volunteering and I will expect to do that until I am housebound or something. Even if I am housebound one day I will probably find some charity bus to take me to some kind of outing. I don't have much family as such and they can't be relied upon anyway but at 58 I am started to cultivate my life now to make older age much easier. I have just paid off my mortgage too, something I could not have done with a bigger house and kids.

I made the choice to be childfree when I was 11 years old i had a horrible childhood I was sexually emotionally and verbally abused I don't want to pass that on another generation I decision my parents should had considered before marrying each other there are some people who shouldn't have kids like
Shirley maclaine Ryan o'Neil and john Phillips I would rather regret not having children than ever regret being a parent

My little brother was murdered by a paranoid schizophrenic after a music festival in the woods.
I still don't know how my mother managed to not unalive herself during the time of the trials that came afterwards. And yes, of course we had therapy. It's been 15 years now, and we kinda live with it. Cause there's no other option. But man, I don't wish this kind of pain onto my worst enemy.
There's no way I won't become a horrible helicopter parent after this. And nobody will be able to convince me that this shit doesn't happen. Cause I lived through the whole thing.
If my child would die before me I wouldn't wait for the mourning to arrive after the first week of shock or so. I would do whatever's necessary to not feel that pain ever again.
So not having kids = the only way to protect myself from experiencing this.

This is so true, though I'm lucky enough that my own family doesn't push the topic. I've never wanted kids really; I vaguely remember thinking once in, like, 8th or 9th grade that the only way I'd have kids is maybe adoption. I'm 23 and know for a fact I don't want to adopt either. I'm good with an adopted cat instead. Why should I get any kids if 1) I'm mentally unwell and barely capable of caring for myself, 2) the world is shit and not seemingly getting much better and 3) kids cost way too much money? Most of us don't want kids simply because we care for our own mental and physical well-being - and that is not wrong of us to do :))

Same, pregnancy and childbirth scares me.
I am a health professional assisting and watching multiple women deliver, I won't wish that on my worst enemy.
It's literally something out of a horror movie.

Yes, being child free can be exhausting when you constantly have to freaking explain to people why you don’t have or want children. No matter what your reasons are people deflect them and expect for you to change your mind/life for them. These are the last people who help provide for those nonexistent/unborn children once they get here!!!! 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

I know exactly what you mean. I just lie. I pretend that I desperately wanted to get married and had kids, but I had a bad break-up that I never got over. I'm so sad that I'm late '40s and time has run out. Sob. 😂 The dumbasses eat it up. They are so convinced that women need a spouse and children to be happy and/or have purpose that in their minds, you are only single and childless for reasons outside of your control. SMDH.
