Silly bandz were essentially fun shaped rubber bands and were banned in my elementary/middle school because they were distracting😂
They were banned at my school because the boys would snap them super hard on someone’s wrist and leave welts lmao
Oh yeah . People would wear sleeves of them.
Maggie, you are correct, those are silly bands. The second thing you were talking about were loom band bracelets. But that was slightly after our time.
awh, look at miss Emma so precious sleeping next to her daddy! i really loved this episode you guys 😚
The cutest little angel!
Rachel - you can go to PT for pelvic floor issues! I'm currently going and it has helped SO MUCH!
I went postpartum and it helped so much!
Did it make you tighter because girl I am SUFFERING 😩😩😩
i NEED to know where Maggie got her jumpsuit. I see the other try wives wearing a similar jumpsuit and it’s sooo cute
I was just going to comment on how cute she looks today. Jumpsuit, hair, makeup, the color of the jumpsuit! GORGGGGGGG.
It looks like the dickies work suit they make it in pink, so if it’s not it’s a good alternative!
Petition for links for outfits on podcasts!
This brought back a forgotten memory of jelly bracelets! And the claim that certain colors were associated with sexual acts and boys would try to break them. 🙈
Omg yes! I thought I was so cool and then my friends told me what they meant 🥲
literally! And I had no idea of their meanings until after I began to wear them
us emo kids are still wearing all the skinny jeans. THEY’LL NEVER GO AWAY!
same
I haven't let go, but my hippy side needed to buy 1 pair of wide leg because cute lol
Same same....I'm a, i don't give a crap old balls millennial that still wears skinny jeans
absolutely in LOVE with Rachel's outfit here
Seeing Emma is making me bawl. Yesterday was the 1 year anniversary since my four-legged soul mate crossed the rainbow bridge and he looked EXACTLY like Emma. Y’all have a gem ❤️
I'm with Matt. Not everything needs to be cropped.
I 10000% get Becky’s smell thing about Keith and her grandpa - I am the same exact way!! I felt that so deep in my soul, I’ve had the exact same thought(s)
thank you thank you thank you Becky for not gendering menstruation, and inclusively (and simply saying) "if you are a person that gets a period."
Absolutely loved your pod (like always) - would you guys be open to doing a skincare episode, it'd just really be nice to hear you guys talk about skin struggles and what's worked throughout the years.
Posted as soon as I got home .. Love you guys !
definitely wore the skirt over pants because Ashley Tisdale did it first haha 😅
Ashley Tisdale really was THE fashion icon of the aughties
As an Australian, I had no idea what Bermuda shorts or JNCO jeans were 😂
They're called Uggs because that's the sound people make when they see you wearing them. 😂
YES!! 😂
Love you all, thank you for always inviting us to sit with you
Rachel, please do a bra video on all of the various kinds of bras, bra-let’s, and bra less shirts. For all shapes and sizes. With the element of freeing the nipple and the realization of its purpose in society.
I am 21 and LOVE wearing Clinique Happy because my mom always wore it when I was younger! My fave perfume :)
Agree with Matt! Not everything need to be cropped! As a bigger girl who is very tall CROP AIN’T THE ONE!!
Maggie is often correct! Also it’s so interesting how fashion can be so similar yet so different depending where you’re from & grew up!
Silly bandz were ELITE and I had so many funky shapes 😂😂
When my daughter was a baby low rise jeans were in. In no universe does an infant need jeans so low that the diaper shows!
This was such a lovely episode ❤
hey besties! to becky: YES you can absolutely pee yourself lifting heavy weights! my wife is a powerlifter and regularly lifts wild amounts of weight. like, 300-400lbs four times a week. she always has extra “underoos” and a liner/small pad tucked away in her gym bag. she also said that people with vaginas are more likely to pee themselves while lifting, whereas people with penises are more likely to poop themselves. i don’t know just thought that was interesting. okay love y’all bye!
I’m with you Maggie, I totally wore Bermuda shorts in the early 00’s. Maybe it was a SoCal thing
Grew up in GA and we totally wore them. They were "modest" 🥴
I grew up in San Diego and I also had Bermuda shorts from old navy! Omg I had silly bands too and those friendship bracelets we made at sleep overs.
Not JUST dresses over jeans but skirts too lmfao
Love
Maggie, thank you for reaffirming that the Old Navy Bermuda short campaign wasn’t a fever dream of mine from childhood. 😂
My parents worked opposite shift and my mom would have to wake me up 3 nights a week at 12:30am to pick up my dad from work, the ONLY way she convinced me to get me up was that I could wear my adorable night gowns in the car , the thrill of that motivated me to go on 🤣
All the ladies have highlights (and Matt is a highlight)! Maggie is also very peppy today. Always good to see Rachel. Ariel, we miss you. Overall good flowy conversation today
From upstate NY and went to sleepaway camp in the Adirondacks and everyone wore chacos!! LOL
Ugh those girls on TikTok post those videos of them peeing while weightlifting and it's so irritating! Other creators have said that they wear pads when lifting particularly heavy/aiming for a PR because peeing on the floor is a biohazard! Not to mention it's just rude and disrespectful to those in the gym or using the equipment after you. Who wants to smell like pee after their workout? Wear a pad then toss in the trash after your heavy lifting! Just be respectful!
Becky, since you like to smell Keith's old shirts because the smell has a positive association. I think you would understand and like the book The Scent Keeper by Erica Bauermeister. It's all about the smell's connection to memory and a fatal pursuit of trying to preserve smells forever.
This was my style in middle school almost DAILY 😅:
Shorts, tshirt, suspenders hanging down, neck tie, knee socks, and high top converse. Like, that was literally what I wore and I stuck out like a sore thumb 😂 I was the unique kid lol
Take a drink every time Rachel says "baby"!
Emma sleeping by Matt is giving me life.
I am in love with Becky's jacket!!! 😍 Totally forgot about the leggings with the foot straps but I'm pretty sure I had a pair.
52 minutes in and I finally notice the dog next to Matt😂
I am a plus size curvy as hell woman and I have hated shopping for a very long time because they usually don't carry my size. And you just feel so gross when you can't buy clothes anywhere but all your friends and family can with ease
Matt "what is your go to fashion inspiration?"
Rachel "instagram"
*instant ad right after* 😆
Y'all remember where you get your clothes from?😂 Mine comes from goodwill or I got it from someone. I haven't been able to shop at an actual store for clothes in 2 years due to being broke. So I really don't remember where I bought my old clothes from.😂
Limited Too and Delias were the bomb🙌I remember Limited Too rebranding to Justice and being so upset😂Also does anyone remember Libby Lu’s(?) it was like a princess makeover store
Dude!! Yes, Club Libby Lu was the BEST fever dream of childhood
Hoodies and cutting a hole in the sleeve for thumbs were probably the dumbest fashion choices I made 😂 Or drawing on jeans and sneakers
Beckyyy! Hiking boots on the plane for👏 the👏 win👏!
We are from Mexico and when ever we go visit my parents home town my dad takes one of his cowboy hats and he takes it as a carry on item so it does not get damaged 😂
You guys are referring to RAINBOW LOOM! For the braided bracelets 😂
Omg 1 week?? When I go to Australia I literally don't pack until the day before LOL
The packing convo is wild to me.. I pack for any trip big or small the night before?
Everyone of all genders wore Chacos when I was in college. I didn’t get a pair until years later when I worked at a pool. I custom made a pair and now they are my everyday all the time summer shoes! Biker shorts, oversized tee and chacos. It’s not as bad as you may think!
Maggie unearthed a memory in the back of my brain by saying the words "Limited Too"
Very scent oriented person here. In trying to find a perfume I used to wear I found out that even if they are still around, perfumes from years ago have different formulas! A lot had to do with the use of ingredients that are considered rare or scarce. Or just more eco friendly. So if that perfume from your teen years or especially your mom just doesn’t seem to smell the same, well cause it’s not. 😢
I can't try clothing on in a lot of stores but the more frustrating one is the fact I literally cannot try bras on in store. Just can't and it's so hard to find one that fits because of it. So much buy and try and send back
I watched 50 minutes of this episode and JUST noticed bby Emma dead asleep lol
little angel Emma is SENDING MEEEEE
As a fashion stylist I loved this episode! I could literally talk about fashion and style all day long. If any of you want some free fashion advice for your specific body types, skin tones, and just how to make dressing easier, I am always happy to help!!
Maggie ! Viva la juicy is back, I just ordered some off scent bird
As someone that works in the cosmetic field. They very much still sell Viva la Juicy.
It's a classic. 👌
I giggled when you said wash it with the "r", warsh, as a person from MO that is how I say it.
Everybody saying they pack their suitcase a week in advance, and then there's me, packing the day before i left for my 10-month-long exchange to Peru 😅
Silly bandz and bermuda shorts were so big when I was in middle school in 2009-2012
Also I wore a choker freshman year of college (2017) to go out… OOPS
I love my Chacos! They're a big thing in my particular social circles (liberal Mennonite). I love Chacos so much that I got a custom pair as a graduation gift when I graduated from high school before moving to Colorado for my gap year. They're so normal for me that I forget that some people don't even know what they are!
I have never heard of a liberal Mennonite how fun. My parents are from Lancaster PA too. What’s the difference? Is it just less strict?
@@morganbeatty4070 yep! There are not any hard and fast rules about dress or wearing a head covering. We believe in pacifism and that violence is never the answer. My church in particular is quite left leaning socially and politically but that is not the case for all congregations. My personal belief is that we can't do all the things we claim to be for, all while voting for those who are adamant about taking rights away from people. We also believe that we are told to love people just as they are and through loving and caring for our community we are being the hands and feet of Christ. For many, including myself, we believe that this is a way of living not just a religion. Sorry I don't know if I answered your question or just made it more confusing.
Just popping in, my memory is often crap so if I tell you I forgot it is 99% likely that truly did 💜
Wait is Clinique Happy not it anymore? :,) I try to explore new options, but I always find my way back to Happy.
I think Maggie was talking about loom bands around 5:06!
The green chairs 😍
Used to wear silly bands like arm sleevies
I have a pair of bubble gum pink straight-leg pants. They are made of slick fabric and have a sparkly pocket. I'll never wear them again but they are so cute and I had some great times wearing them.
MAGGIE SINGING 🥺🥺💜
omg 2000s kids will know silly bandz and rainbow loom LOL!
I got a 1 on never have i ever! I had to google like half those things! LOL
In the UK it was Impulse spay for all us teenage girlies!
my 6th graders wear those rainbow loom band bracelets and they’re kinda the new jelly bracelets bc one of my students says “i have a red one bc i’m straight” i was like oh okay sure girl!!!
Which time? I have crohns I poop my pants more often than I ever thought I would have to admit. Lol
You can absolutely pee your pants weight lifting🤣🤣 sometimes a little, sometimes a lot
Ariels voice overs from home though 😂
I use Viva La Juicy now 😅😅😅
I haven't watched the podcast yet, I just felt it was important to tell you that an ad with axolotl played before this
Anyone else Googling all of these? 🤣
when I was in middle school people would try collecting all of the silly bands and other kids it would like trade them
Remember when Delia’s would do that “try on a pair” jeans special?
emma is a vibe
My biggest fashion mistake was hipster mega flared jeans. Super low cut waistband and flares big enough to cover the feet. And because im in Scotland, they would sook up all the rain water. 🤣
6:49 OMG she legit sounds like that tiktok voice filter🤣
Maggie I’m with you. I remember silly bands.
I am so happy the low rise jeans (the normal ones not super low rise) are coming back cuz I hate the high rise ones...I think they are uncomfortable and quite often unflattering...but I know that's an unpopular opinion^^
all I could think of when you guys were talking about fragrances was tommy girl. REMEMBER TOMMY GIRL? they still make it!!
They sell all of the juicy perfumes at J.C. Penney
What about height differences in couples, my husband is the same height and me and at times I want to wear heels but I don’t feel I can!
Mini rant lol I lettered in basketball, track, rodeo, and band (had other letters too but those were the important ones) and my school refused to give me my varsity jacket kuz I was moving back in with my mom. Two years of my life I dedicated to that school and because I was moving for my mental health they didn’t want to give me mine. The f up thing was my dad agreed that I didn’t deserve one. Ironically I later lettered in academics at my new high school but never got a jacket.
#childofdivorce
stirrup pants were everything in the late 80s early 90s
I used to be like Matt - super anti Birks. But now, I'm just collecting all the types and colors like Pokémon lol they're so freaking comfy idc
y'all i actually don't remember where i got any of my clothes! it's not always gatekeeping :D
Omg why did I notice Emma like an hour in. Sleepy baby
Scent of my teenhood: HAWAIIAN GINGER
Silly bands were the animal shaped rubber bands. They were banned in my public school, because the school staff (supposedly) didn't believe in evolution, and the very presence of dinosaur shaped rubber bands flew in the face of Ken Ham's take on geologic history.
56:13 I mean for me my lips are dark enough that if the red lips fade a bit it kinda looks like a fun new colour, like a pale browny-red rather than faded red
I. Wore. SO. MANY. Bermuda shorts.
Ok but like I hate shopping. I get bored so fast. So most of the clothes I have are a few years old. So I absolutely do not remember where I got my clothes.
