    It worked for me ... many many thanks.
    It is very smart technique to heat the graphics chip instead of other techniques in youtube.
    The only trick in my case is that 20 mins and 30 mins were not enough ... i left it more than an hour and it worked.
    Thanks again.

    Thanks, amazed it worked with a bonus. My G62 would not switch off, had to take the battery out to stop power, and had the blank screen. I only left it wrapped for about 10 mins, and the power was still on, but I held the button down and after about 40 secs, some whirring and clicking and the screen came alive with windows system repair !! Also the power button now works normally.

    • @Wingedmechanic
      @Wingedmechanic 3 года назад

      This laptop has a GPU chip that is notorious for overheating and has very poor quality soldering done by the manufacturer while installing to the board. It's colling is done via a heat pipe shared with CPU. If for some reason the cooling airflow is blocked, this chip heats up pretty fast and expands cracking the solder joint to the motherboard, resulting in black screen.
      Permanent solution will be take out the board and remove the chip and replace with a new one using eutectic lead solder balls. What this guy does is overheat the GPU by blocking the cooling system and make it expand or melt to reconnect cracked solder joint.

    • @fredericleitenberger2213

      The laptop needs to be on. The idea here is that the heat generated by the laptop itself fixes it. The towel just makes sure the heat stays inside the laptop and accumulates.
      Make sure to not let it sit to long like this and stay nearby or there might be a fire. I followed the instructions and it did actually work.

    How did this workk!!!?????

    • @ComputerTechProfesor
      @ComputerTechProfesor  6 лет назад +1

      Mahima Satsangi in particular there is a chip in this laptop which needs to be heated first , i don’t know why this happens but this is a costly procedure therefore it is the antidote of that expenditure ❤️

      what chip are you referring to?

    • @fredericleitenberger2213
      @fredericleitenberger2213 4 года назад

      @@nicholasfox540 Probably the graphics chip. See this video: ruclips.net/video/BzbHNoCtz_Y/видео.html There they take it all apart and heat the chip externally to fix this... much more work though.

    what is the cause of this?

    • @ComputerTechProfesor
      @ComputerTechProfesor  6 лет назад

      Peter Brant it works in high temperatures..
      That's why it needs to be heated before starting.
      It's not with the new one but as it gets used , this issue becomes apparent..

      i tried your technique, with the towel. it didnt work for me. the wifi light on laptop is on constantly

    • @sahhwins187
      @sahhwins187 6 лет назад

      This happens because of overheating. The metallic plates on your laptop for your cpu or gpu have shrunk from heat. As you know heat expands things. So heating it up expands the wires and they connect turning it.

    Woah woah woah!!! Thanks so much Sir. It really worked. Now my daughter can use her laptop again. I've thought of bringing the unit to a technician, but no need. Thanks so much. God bless you for sharing this. :-)
