Egads! I just finished The Black Tulip and loved it! I feel like your reading tastes are so similar to mine! I loved The Man Who Was Thursday and The 39 Steps, but am still amazed how few people have heard of either. Plus, I appreciated your defense of the OG Father Brown books (as one who despises the Netflix treatment). Great recommendations, kindred spirit!
Thank you for these recommendations. I have seen many of these kinds of videos and they always mentioned the same books. Yours are very original and picked my interest. Subscribed!
So happy you mentioned Mark Twain. He is a must read and my all time favourite. Thanks for the suggestions, many books I haven't read yet so will give them a try.
What an excellent video! So many great suggestions. The Chronicles of Narnia and The Wind in the Willows are two favorites. I think I’d like to try The Scarlet Pimpernel soon.
If you like Narnia you should try the George MacDonald books. C.S. Lewis was influenced and loved those books. Lilith is the most substantial but all of his work was incredible. the language in Lilith is a little difficult to wade through sometimes but it's great.
Thank you, thos video was genius.English is not my language, therefore is perfect for me to beginn with classics that are not too long.I have " the wind in the willows "as audio book and it is marvelous, one of my favorites . Just subscribed!
Such a good and varied list. I'll definitely refer to it when I want to read a short classic that's new to me. I nearly commented about including Frankenstein - I'm happy it made your list. It's one of my all time favourite classics. :)
Both Frankstein and Picture of Dorian Grey are not my favorites, but so many people enjoy them and say they are their favorite classics, so they make the list.
Louisa May Alcott has been one of my absolute favorite authors since I was a girl! Buy you mentioned some of her books that I hadn't heard of. So many of the you mentioned are now on my reading list. Thank you so much!
ahh thank you! I added all of these on my TBR because I've been craving reading shorter books lately and wanted to dive back into classics. I also really like your videos!!
Yes! That's an excellent place to start. His writing is engaging and easy to read. Just don't read it right before bed, because his stories are scary! ;) Happy Reading!
I don't usually like Modern Classics very much, but I did do a video about Modern Classics that Feel like Old Classics, and many of those are short and easy to read. ruclips.net/video/oYO_5RSD9Zw/видео.html
I can tell how much you like a book by how much you make the book dance! Lol.
Thank you!! This was such an incredible list of books. I am so excited to discover new lit! Thanks! ❤️👍
The focus & clarity of the picture is so much better!

My favorite of those you listed is Frankenstein. However, I have a long standing crush on both Sir Percy and on AJ Raffles! This was a fantastic list!

So many I need to add to my list! I loved A Journey to the Center of the Earth! (Also love the old film with James Mason and Pat Boone!)
Good job! I absolutely love every one that you recommend!
Thank you!

Aw, thank you!
My new fave channel btw .... three I would offer: Agnes Grey, Fahrenheit 451, and Tender is the Night.
I LOVED Johnnie Tremaine when I was a little girl. My goal for 2020 is to read almost exclusively classics and these short classics would help!
Wonderful! A lot of modern classics tend to be shorter too, but I don't read many modern classics.
Omg I am definitely reading this list
Great selections but I would also add the science fiction stories of H G Wells. Short and very pleasurable reading.
what about starting with VIrginia Woolf? will it be a good start???~
I personally do not like Virginia Woolf. Her writing style is annoying. But you could give it a try!
is it okay to start with Edgar allan poe’s short stories as a beginner?
Yes! That's an excellent place to start. His writing is engaging and easy to read. Just don't read it right before bed, because his stories are scary! ;) Happy Reading!
Books for MKs hahaha i’m aware of that. thank you !
Albert Camus is the best short book I enjoyed
R u gonna follow this up with vids on 1)mid-length and moderate classics and 2)Long and difficult classics?
That's a good idea!
Could you make a video on "Short and Easy Modern Classics"? ;-)

Lady Susan is shorter than Persuasion.
