I laughed throughout the sketch, but I think the funniest thing to me was the idea that Paula has *all* of BoardGameGeek saved in a folder on her desktop...
This made me feel lots of feelings, but mostly laughter... And horror... And laughter. Great reminder to not follow through with making a robot to play games with
Absolutely love everything about this - story, music, everything about the robot... just awesome all-around. Well done! But remember - you technically still win at Galaxy Trucker even if you get the fewest points, as long as you end up with more than 0. Straight from the rulebook: "Add up all your cosmic credits. If that number is 1 or more, you win! Your goal was to make money, and you did. So what if some other jokers made more?". Challenge that freaking robot to a rematch!
I thought the robot was going to build another robot, and that robot was going to beat the first robot, leading the first robot to re-evaluate their human player.
With all of the Raspberry Pi videos out there, I'm pretty sure someone has a mod that will let you build a board game playing robot. Hopefully the sarcasm and snobbery is an additional add on.
Never heard of Mechanica before. That looks like a lot of fun though. Love the puzzle piece components. That aside, great sketch. Great idea for the Halloween season!
Amazing! Hopefully it becomes a recurring character! I was expecting the "I'm the only human you've played against" to be followed by "I'm internet connected. In the time since we started playing, I've defeated 1,364 other humans on BGA."
So MST3K about Monopoly and UNO. I like it! This robot looks similar to Tom Servo. I can see Rodney Smith as Joel. Paula ships him mass market games. Make it happen!
Props to the production! On the technical side I'm super impressed with the quality and the lighting! For the creative side it was super fun, loved the writing and delivery! Certainly a good time to release near Halloween! Keep them up!!
It's a shame we won't be getting any more sketches from Paula. They were top shelf. RIP our dicey friend, may you finally win a couple rounds in the here after. Also I need mechanica!
@@MerlinsManor Even a small rulebook is like 10 megabytes. Something that size would take at least half an hour to download on a dial-up modem. Dial-up was SLLLOOOOWWWW
Bear and robot team up please.
See what happens when you let people discover solo rules on their own!
@@j_atkinson My great shame.
The reason the bot was so rude is that she downloaded all of the BGG forums...lol
Matthew's costume is so good I wouldn't have even recognised him if the attitude hadn't gave him away
The, oft overlooked, true first law of robotics: Never feed it an internet forum!
I laughed throughout the sketch, but I think the funniest thing to me was the idea that Paula has *all* of BoardGameGeek saved in a folder on her desktop...
You don't?
;-)
Resonym: "Um, Paula, when we asked if you could make a video showcasing the Mechanica solo mode, this wasn't *quite* what we had in mind..." 🙃
Best “Dicey” ever. Drop the mic. Or the wrench? - needs a sequel….
"All your shelfs are belong to us... The shame one too"
I knew that robot was evil when I heard the dial up modem sound.
And now there is also a wrench on the shelf of shame... >:)
This made me feel lots of feelings, but mostly laughter... And horror... And laughter. Great reminder to not follow through with making a robot to play games with
Nice try Robot. "I. Feel. Emotions. Too". Uh huh, that's not going to work on me!
I FEEL attacked! ... BEEP BOOP.... Uh... Ignore that, I burped...
It's a robot version of Bert from Sesame Street!! It has the same laugh and everything!
It was ... "Bert all along"
;)
Good catch!
This was fantastic! The robot looked great and the story was perfect for Spooktober.
Can't fool me. That's Tom Servo wearing makeup!
The cinematography on these is way better than it need to be.
Did it again, Paula! Brava!
I'm lucky to have a very talented and also very picky cinematographer ;)
That got dark really fast 🤣
The robot somehow managed to look offended when she said she'd beat him at a game about robots. 😆
Absolutely love everything about this - story, music, everything about the robot... just awesome all-around. Well done! This was incredible, I loved it.
thanks Jon! I love your videos, btw. I watch them all the time to help me learn games!
Now I want the robot to play the bear while Paula is away ... and loose. 😆
Well that was dark. And no cuddly bear will change that fact.
Instant click when a new Things Get Dicey! video comes out.
Solo games are the Messiah of introverts
I thought this would be Rodney Smith's origin story.
This was the best Dicey ever. That robot is hilarious. Please bring him back!
I would DEFINITELY say that things got dicey here! Great video as always :) and hurray for more Mechanica!!!
At that moment when I was waiting for the "Ya dead!" but it never came, that's when I knew it wasn't over.
I thought the robot was going to build another robot, and that robot was going to beat the first robot, leading the first robot to re-evaluate their human player.
Me too
Sequel, perhaps.
Psycho, Terminator, and The Shining meet Candyland
Brilliant!
The production here was so good! Very cool.
Awesome robot model. Hope he will have some appearance in future episodes. He is such a wonderful Debbie-Downer.
Takeaway: Solo modes need taunt features
4:53 well....probably that's why you don't have any (more) friends to play with. 😆😉😉
This was FANTASTIC!!! I don't want to know how long it took you to put this all together. Well done Paula!
🤣🤣🤣 This better be an episode on the next Black Mirror season. That robot is perfect 👍.
And this is why the movie I, Robot will be reality soon.
That escalated soo quickly poor robot :(. But there was no other choice it had to go! Loved the video, hilarious as always!
Skynet origin story.
I was not expecting such a cinematic experience, what a delightful surprise!
With all of the Raspberry Pi videos out there, I'm pretty sure someone has a mod that will let you build a board game playing robot. Hopefully the sarcasm and snobbery is an additional add on.
Robot is up there with little puppet Quinns for one of the best board gaming characters of all time.
Don't give up, Paula, I'm pretty sure you could beat the robot at PitchCar or some other dexterity game!
That went dark … quick. And I loved it!
Never heard of Mechanica before. That looks like a lot of fun though. Love the puzzle piece components. That aside, great sketch. Great idea for the Halloween season!

So BGG Skynet is what happens when Rodney leaves us to find out in our own?
These are incredible production values! And a great script - enjoyable and gripping from start to finish.
Well done!
Thanks so much Bez! That really means a lot!
Wow, this may be my favorite sketch you’ve done. Hilarious! Killing it as always Paula, great job!
Hey thank you!!
You came in hard with this one! Game over, competitors!
Lawd, that was funny! The robot took some time to make, eh? Great job.
This one hit the ball out of the park with an amazing production.
Paula, run! It's at the window!
wow, the quality is amazing. great sketch!
when he got up the table im like where is he going lmao
That is one seriously warped player board!
That robot is SUPER adorable! Great job, Paula. Your content quality is out of this world.
This is the best! Thank you for making something spoopy for the season!
You know, they might be 1's and 0's, but robots have feelings too!
I enjoyed this episode of Black Mirror
Fantastic. I can't even imagine how much time went into animating that robot. Great work!
This was the greatest boardgame related video I've ever seen!
Paula is a science genius too!
... and that robot would go on to found Skynet, so it would only have robots to play with for the rest of time.
I almost ffwd @ the bear scene, glad I kept watching, that was great!
Man that was violent Paula! Never knew you had it in you 😂 Lawson, you should watch out!!
If you really want to get rid of that robot, launch it into space to play bad boardgames with another robot and some guy named Joel.
So MST3K about Monopoly and UNO. I like it! This robot looks similar to Tom Servo. I can see Rodney Smith as Joel. Paula ships him mass market games. Make it happen!
I would love to see a behind the scenes on making the robot. :D
A great video for October! :)
Some day humanity has to defend itself because of this video.
Lets have a part 2! Full out horror parody!
Brutal. Then creepy. Good job Paula!
And Lawson! sorry.
Props to the production! On the technical side I'm super impressed with the quality and the lighting! For the creative side it was super fun, loved the writing and delivery! Certainly a good time to release near Halloween! Keep them up!!
Awesome! One of the best episodes!
lol @ the box fan foot nose
LOL, very cool, I needed a good laugh been a rough week. A sequel, please.
LOL, and I thought playing with my cat was obsessive.
Nice work Team Deming. Way to stretch the artistic muscle of the show. I like it!
Hahaha this was amazing! That Robot gots mad jokes yo 🤣 That vacuum joke dang, got roasted
funny al always. I believed everything up until the robot came back to life, that can't happen that fast!
It's a shame we won't be getting any more sketches from Paula. They were top shelf. RIP our dicey friend, may you finally win a couple rounds in the here after.
Also I need mechanica!
Great video! One of my favorites! I also need to find more about Mechanica!
Excellent work, and nice to see some Mechanica love too.
What I find most impressive is the download speed he achieved with dail-up! 😃
Well a pdf probably still would not have taken long to download on dial-up even.
@@MerlinsManor Even a small rulebook is like 10 megabytes. Something that size would take at least half an hour to download on a dial-up modem. Dial-up was SLLLOOOOWWWW
I'm laughing - and loving- another Deming sketch!
I will never understand how this channel has so few subscribers
Another top tier video, equally hilarious and terrifying
That went up a level, fantastic Paula!
Awesome as always Paula, Well I know what the next episode of DxM will be about 😄
Love the BertBot. Great throwback to the 1990s “Bert Is Evil”, intentional or not!
I'm excited for the next one
this feels like one big ad for mechanica
Skynet is self-aware!
I think Paula just invented Skynet
Apparently I am not the only one who reads game rules in bed. Nice to know. 😁
I read so many rulebooks in bed. So many. And then I forget half the rules because I fell asleep while trying to learn them...
I love that robot!
Truly a Halloween episode
Another hilarious sketch Paula 🤩
"Resistance is futile." 🤖🤖🤖
"Locutus, why are you playing a board game???"
Robot needs to be a recurring character!
Holy cow Paula! Hahahahaha but also ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!
next is Paulaminator II : Wrench-ment Day
