    I started reselling YESTERDAY!! My first purchase/sale was a Leather Callaway cart bag. I bought it at goodwill for $15, and sold it within a few hours for $150!! Can definitely say I'm hooked on reselling as a part time side hustle/hobby/!

    Perks about doing this: you do it when you want. It may not be a lot of money but you still are making money when YOU want to. :)
    (THANK U ALL FOR THE LIKES! My mom started buying storage units and making money doing that, I no longer sell on eBay and other platforms, I did work for a ups store and learned some great things.. some of my coworkers actually sold on eBay and stuff also.. I quit and started working for Amazon delivering packages.. would definitely like to sell stuff again.. it’s so much fun.. but the money I made didn’t really go to much.. I live with my mother and four other brothers.. money made just went to food and reinvesting back into higher purchases to resale.. I wish u all luck! :-))

    Here is an idea for all the reseller wanna be's. I was a reseller for over 20 years. It was a fun hobby for me as I had a full time job. I had an easy office job that allowed me to come and go as I pleased so I could even shop and package/mail items while "at work." I thoroughly enjoyed it for years. Then ebay got flooded with professional store owners and the competition got really tough. Plus ebay and paypal raised their fees. Now reselling is tough. It's way harder than most jobs IMO. There are many resellers doing very well but the average reseller is lucky to break even. My idea for you is to get rid of your junk and turn your storage space into an airbnb. That is what I did and I make 4X what I was making reselling with very little investment of time and money.

    There's a difference between ebay items that are selling for $15 and ebay items that have an opening bid of $15. Just because the seller thinks it will sell for that much doesn't mean it will. Pay attention to the number of bidders on items. The more bids there are on an item, the more interest there is and the better chance you will sell it for what you want, if not more.

    Good video on what NOT to do. Buying something for $10 profit is not worth it if you have limited capital or are tying to go full time. You can find items to sell at these stores but for the time invested in listing, inventory, and shipping I wouldn't source these. I recommend learning what sells and going to thrift stores first.

    Big thing to remember when you're looking on Ebay to research items, be SURE to look into COMPLETED auctions. Yea, they are up for sale at a certain price, but are they REALLY selling for that? I saw a few items you got to sell, that there is NO way you're going to get what you think you will. Trust me, I've been buying and selling on Ebay for over 20 years and have probably sold or tried to sell just about everything they would let me sell on there..lol.

    • @damiandagger
      @damiandagger 4 года назад

      True that. I have seen items that are ridiculously priced on eBay and Amazon both. How much you list for isn't necessary what people are willing to pay for it.

    • @whichgodofthousandsmeansno5306
      @whichgodofthousandsmeansno5306 3 года назад +2

      Agree. Easy to learn that the hard way. What things are listed for may not be close to what they actually sell for so always check the "sold" link to see if any are actually selling. I sell rare guitars and currently there are listings from Japan all over ebay asking 3 times what most actually go for. That can really throw off a noob seller as well as a buyer. From what I am told the sellers do not even have the instruments. They just hope for a sucker, then they purchase it if they can and transship it to the sucker.

    • @bondoman2k
      @bondoman2k 3 года назад

      @@whichgodofthousandsmeansno5306 Cool! I don't have to worry about trying to get a guitar I can't afford...I build cigar box guitars..lol. No, they aren't the rare guitars you sell I'm sure, but I have learned a lot in the last year and a half I've been building, and now I'm building number 27, a 6 string lap steel. And besides, it's fun and I have something to show for it when I'm done! I've even made a few bucks selling some. ;)

    What many people think is that the same strategy works for everyone. You have to find what your market has that is a good flip. I used to go to this video game store because they would price their new games the same as old and I'd focus on older consoles and try to find games that people were collecting sealed new. I also flipped antique cameras that the margins were a lot higher, but finding the right deals took a while. My rule of thumb is to flip items that can go first class if its a small profit. Less than $10. For that profit, I want it to be just dropped in an envelope and shipped. If I'm making $20+ I will mess with bubbles and boxes to package something heavy/fragile up.

    usually sell any remote from $4 to $6 with free shipping and returns
    not based on brand or value.. Almost every remote goes for these prices
    so I don't have to research any and just focus on testing them. I sold
    about 15 remotes today easily. I listed 50 more and will probably
    list 80 tomorrow and then every other day. I sometimes list about 700 remotes
    in a week and sell about 65 to 100 a week.

    it's good that people are seeing this, you do realize that lot of items sold at Marshall's are defective (especially clothing and shoes)? I have been shoping at Marshalls for over 25 years and can assure that is the case. But at least I can try them on to decide. At first I didn't realize this, and couldn't believe the prices were so low compared to the stores in the Shopping Malls. But then I started to notice all the odd defects. I mostly buy items for working outside so I don't care if the sleeves are a bit too long, etc. But at least I can try it on. I also had an issue with Addidas sneakers, they were too small (they were clearly stamped the wrong size, and you can't remove that, it was more then just mislabeling) I am sure there are some resellers that do not care they are doing this, but now you are making money off RUclips as well, and telling others, I just want them to see the reality of what you are doing.

      How much am I working? If I work 5 hours a day for $100, that's only $20 an hour. No thanks. Also, I am not convinced he is making $100 a day doing this. Buying something for $3 and selling for $12 plus shipping is about $7 profit. I need to sell 15 of those a day for that to be $100. That isn't happening. I can also spend four hours at an auction on any given Saturday, leave with dozens of items, and not sit around in a Ross's all day. So, good for you for being able to sell RA stuff. Assuming people who don't want to do that "can't sell" is ridiculous. They might just have no interest in this particular method.

      Agree with this comment. You have to put time into boxing/ packaging these items, then going to the post office and sending to the buyer, and then you get a profit of, say, $10-$15. Alot of work for little money. I think it would be better to focus on bigger ticket items where your profit after shipping/fees is at least $50. Two items per day is manageable, $100 clear, that's $500/wk or $25K per year. Otherwise you're just fussing around, and if you miss some sale or get a disgruntled customer review, it hurts your seller reputation on eBay. Also this approach leaves time to pursue other income streams. This is active income, not passive like investing or RUclips vlogging, so your rate of return should be solid to reflect the extra personal time you need to put into it, at least $20/hr. To the channel host: thanks for your vid, it's helpful for the beginner, but need to keep things in perspective or you'll wear yourself out from exhaustion.

    Look, the naysayers will ALWAYS be out there. They’re sitting on their asses not making money begrudging anyone else that does.
    You ever hear Taco’s asides? He hadn’t been on a vacation or taken a day of in a long damned time. Posting a good (that is worth watching) video takes time not to mention skill.
    Going thrifting takes time AND knowledge. Going to auctions and buying storage lockers takes time, skill AND money.
    The thing that ALWAYS impresses me about Taco is that he churns his stuff and he thinks about how much time he spends loading & unloading (labor). He actually knows what he’s doing. And while he’s at it, he sells it.
    To me it’s like gambling. Well over 80 - probably more like 95% - don’t have any discipline whatsoever. Taco does.
    He works damned hard at what he does. If you wanna call that BS, fine. But when you do it, you really ought to tell us your channel and your sustained sales & profits. Because I’m betting you have NONE. zero. Zip. Zilch.
