David P. We sell on eBay full time. It is our living. We know we pay out less than 13% for their services, it’s called the cost of doing business. We should still make well over $100, we don’t ship free.

I sell REMOTES. My sourcing is from large e-waste distributors who sell large pallets of four boxes that reach 6' high stacked and a portable pallet lift to un-stack them. This saves me a lot of space in storage. I usually sell any remote from $4 to $6 with free shipping and returns not based on brand or value.. Almost every remote goes for these prices so I don't have to research any and just focus on testing them. I sold about 15 remotes today easily. I listed 50 more and will probably list 80 tomorrow and then every other day. I sometimes list about 700 remotes in a week and sell about 65 to 100 a week.
Thanks Taco for your time! That's where I shop for myself and look around for the fun of it! As always, see you next time. Enjoy to see what your up to. 🙂
Offer Up is my go to for selling. Screw ebay with all the selling fees and the shipping hassles. On Offer Up, I can choose who I sell to and I can choose for buyers to come all the way to where I am for pick up.
I've used 1) nail polish remover to get the permanent marker off the bottom of shoes and 2) goo gone, on most items, to get the stickers off mugs and cups and items as such.
Why not just go to thrift store pick out the good stuff for cheap and resell on eBay, poshmark and any other platforms. I know a man who would go to thrift store and buy women's clothing and resell on ebay. Then this one girl would buy vintage clothing and resell on eBay.

@@ramonbarajas2258 oh yeah, if you have some highly sought-after stuff, then yeah, the shipping is not a problem. you're definitely correct. but if you buy like a $5 pair of chucks and try to sell them for $30, but have to charge $15 to ship, most people will say "screw that, I'll get them brand new on Zappos or in the store for $45." so that makes it hard.
@Vex T yeah, that makes sense. i totally get the numbers aspect. just depends on how much free time you have. personally, I'm not going to spend the time buying/listing/selling/shipping 80 pairs of shoes to make $220 profit. that's just me though.
I must say here in Luxembourg we sadly don't have shops like ross that sell brand names cheaper :/ I only wear Calvin Klein underwear and must pay the whole price, if there was a ross here, I think I would only shop there. Thank you Mr. Taco for sharing information, its so interesting to see how you guys live there in the US :)
Be prepared, Ross is like a giant junk store. Buy bulk from many stores. Shop for a certain item and you may never see it here. Clothes are not the most stylish and are probably a few years old. At least the tv ads are now saying shoppers can not find the exact items at store!!!!!

I live I the country over 20 miles outside the city. This is not cost effective for me. Travel time to and from the store, then travel time to and from the post office every single order, wow, a lot of gasoline coming and going. However, this is a good idea if you live near the stores and the post office, and you have the time to investigate on ebay and treasure hunt if thrift stores and Ross (also check out DDs, they have much of the same stuff). I love these stores for personal consumption. Thankyou for this video, it is a good idea, nice of you to share.
You know I swear sometimes whenat goodwill I look stuff up on sold ebey and it shows real well then I get home try look it up again and ebay shows nothing
I work at a Marshalls, never been to a Ross store, pretty neat to see such similar prices with basically the exact same products. It's a lot like TJ Maxx.
TMK 22 Coming from someone who consistently shops at both Marshals and Ross, they’re essentially the same thing expect Marshall’s usually sells better quality brands.
it's good that people are seeing this, you do realize that lot of items sold at Marshall's are defective (especially clothing and shoes)? I have been shoping at Marshalls for over 25 years and can assure that is the case. But at least I can try them on to decide. At first I didn't realize this, and couldn't believe the prices were so low compared to the stores in the Shopping Malls. But then I started to notice all the odd defects. I mostly buy items for working outside so I don't care if the sleeves are a bit too long, etc. But at least I can try it on. I also had an issue with Addidas sneakers, they were too small (they were clearly stamped the wrong size, and you can't remove that, it was more then just mislabeling) I am sure there are some resellers that do not care they are doing this, but now you are making money off RUclips as well, and telling others, I just want them to see the reality of what you are doing.
Thank you for this video Taco Stacks. It was very informative. I have been wanting to give retail arbitrage a try. Is there a particular size that sells better online? Thank you.
My buddy buys and sells shoes on Ebay it's quite profitable. One trick he uses is he lists shoes and if they dont sell in 20-25 days he returns them at the ross for a full refund under the 30 days.
$100 a day = $2800 a month. So you are telling me that bringing in $2800 a month, ON TOP OF any income you also make from a job is too much work and time??? Lol. Okay, stick to whatever money you make and leave it to others who can actually sell.
How much am I working? If I work 5 hours a day for $100, that's only $20 an hour. No thanks. Also, I am not convinced he is making $100 a day doing this. Buying something for $3 and selling for $12 plus shipping is about $7 profit. I need to sell 15 of those a day for that to be $100. That isn't happening. I can also spend four hours at an auction on any given Saturday, leave with dozens of items, and not sit around in a Ross's all day. So, good for you for being able to sell RA stuff. Assuming people who don't want to do that "can't sell" is ridiculous. They might just have no interest in this particular method.
IDK,$100 a day seems far fetched.I am a full time plumber and like to stop at any goodwills on my way home.I used to buy small profit stuff wich is good if you sell at flea markets, but now I just stick to high resale items.Quick return and less clutter.I also stick to offer up,letgo and craigslist, never fails with quality sought after items.
Agree with this comment. You have to put time into boxing/ packaging these items, then going to the post office and sending to the buyer, and then you get a profit of, say, $10-$15. Alot of work for little money. I think it would be better to focus on bigger ticket items where your profit after shipping/fees is at least $50. Two items per day is manageable, $100 clear, that's $500/wk or $25K per year. Otherwise you're just fussing around, and if you miss some sale or get a disgruntled customer review, it hurts your seller reputation on eBay. Also this approach leaves time to pursue other income streams. This is active income, not passive like investing or RUclips vlogging, so your rate of return should be solid to reflect the extra personal time you need to put into it, at least $20/hr. To the channel host: thanks for your vid, it's helpful for the beginner, but need to keep things in perspective or you'll wear yourself out from exhaustion.

I always offer free shipping and up the price to cover the cost. I sell more offering free shipping (and upping the price) than lowering the price and charging them shipping.
When you buy the stuff and sell it on eBay, do you take off the Ross sticker? Like where it has the price you paid for. Or do you leave it on? Also for shipping, do you ship in a bubble mailer you buy from Amazon or smth or a usps flat rate one?

OMG Taco Stacks thanks for the shopping trip. Great info. and demonstrations. GREAT VIDEO AND GREAT CONTENT.

We are EBay sellers as well and we went to Ross after watching this video. We picked up 11 items for about $118 and listed them for $312. We will see how we do.

After you get gouged for eBay and PayPal fees and shipping you have enough for a meal at McDonald's.
David P. We sell on eBay full time. It is our living. We know we pay out less than 13% for their services, it’s called the cost of doing business. We should still make well over $100, we don’t ship free.

do you take the ross price tag off before shipping? curious about that used to work at Marshalls and always found amazing deals on shoes, going to start flipping on eBay once I figure out shipping
Absolutely always remove tags! Especially seeings how resellers usually Jack their prices up. The last thing anyone wants to see when their item arrives is that u paid 2.99 & they paid 22.99!
@@mandymoore5774 curious, let’s say you sold an item on eBay for $12.99 but there’s a price tag that says $29.99 (just an example) would you still want to remove it? Maybe it makes them feel like they got a good deal?
Good tips! I mostly focus on reselling vintage home items but I have been interested in learning more about the retail arbitrage. I wouldn’t have known that baseball sells better than football, either. Very interesting!
You have to know about anything you’re going to buy and sell if you’re going to be good at it, it’s all tedious work a lot of the times after Ebay and PayPal and shipping take their cut the profit is low, but can forsure be worked to your advantage

I would never go out of my way to buy something make a post (maybe have to repost) ship it. Then possibly handle any kind of backlash from the buyer for $7-15 dollars. But that's just me...

prior to shipping what do you do with the Ross price tag? They make a mess when you try to pull them off.
The cap section is the FIRST place I go at TJM, MARSHALL'S, etc. (For myself! LOL) Got many awesome deals on MLB caps. Chief Wahoo is a great pick up!
I bought a ton of stuff for eBay that never sold, wasted my money too.
Afraid of this myself
Thats the main reason i stopped on ebay. Could have the lowest price item on the site and still never sold.

I sell REMOTES. My sourcing is from large e-waste distributors who sell
large pallets of four boxes that reach 6' high stacked and a portable
pallet lift to un-stack them. This saves me a lot of space in storage. I
usually sell any remote from $4 to $6 with free shipping and returns
not based on brand or value.. Almost every remote goes for these prices
so I don't have to research any and just focus on testing them. I sold
about 15 remotes today easily. I listed 50 more and will probably
list 80 tomorrow and then every other day. I sometimes list about 700 remotes
in a week and sell about 65 to 100 a week.

Why not just go to thrift store pick out the good stuff for cheap and resell on eBay, poshmark and any other platforms. I know a man who would go to thrift store and buy women's clothing and resell on ebay. Then this one girl would buy vintage clothing and resell on eBay.

I've been doing the thrift store thing for quite a while to generate extra income and I've only recently started looking at TJ Maxx / Marshall's / Ross, very informative thanks for taking the time to make this!

Ren Vill So far I’ve had most success with TJ Max, but I’m sure it depends region to region and even store to store
but what about all the returns?
Lyzander911 These overstock stores are all new with tags and although there are still return requests there are wayyyy less than typical used items from thrift stores
A very informative video today stacks 👍

Not only men's underwear sells well. Sometime women's bras can do even better and sell for more profit. Look for larger sizes.
Great video for people that don't have thriftstores near!!!
never thought about checking the men's underwear section or skincare... brilliant!!
It’s Bc that stuff doesn’t sell
yeah, selling shoes on ebay sucks too. cuz they're so heavy and expensive to ship. so it's nearly impossible to compete with places that offer free shipping like Zappos.
eRic depends on what kind of shoes you selling i used to sell jordan retros on ebay they were selling fast

Thank you.
Larger sizes usually. Because it is harder for them to find the clothes. But it more so depends on brands, uniqueness, pattern and trends too lol
@@robs5579 Thank you!
My buddy buys and sells shoes on Ebay it's quite profitable. One trick he uses is he lists shoes and if they dont sell in 20-25 days he returns them at the ross for a full refund under the 30 days.
Sounds like a lot of work and time for little profit.Dont think I have the patience for ebay.
Some people like to kill time by shopping i mean why not make money at while they are at it lol

How do you decide when to offer free shipping and charge for shipping?
I do when the item goes first class or it’s a higher end item.
I tend to do what other sellers are doing. If most of them are offering free shipping I will do the same so it's easy for the buyer to compare.
@@XDM50 ok. I'm just about ready to start, I'm a little nervous especially since I'm totally new. Never. Small sellers are not Amazon. If my buyer take more than one item, I discount shipping a buck or two.

I got a question, how long did it take you to sell the underwear? Cause I think nobody buys things from ebay
When you buy the stuff and sell it on eBay, do you take off the Ross sticker? Like where it has the price you paid for. Or do you leave it on? Also for shipping, do you ship in a bubble mailer you buy from Amazon or smth or a usps flat rate one?

@@tomtom3420 But from paper? I, too, wondered about removing the ROSS sticker. Some of those undies come in cardboard boxes so how would you remove the sticker on those?

@@michaelstringly4138 Really? There's absolutely nothing wrong with clipping coupons.
