I cannot stress enough how great you guys have made x plane! Thank you for continuing to put in the work to make it great and to still be up there with MSFS, I’ve used both sims and I do think x plane is superior. I do use one addon for x-plane that really does bring it to the next level, auto ortho, but other than that, it’s basically a vanilla sim other than a few custom airports and aircraft
Yes, the Real Weather and atmospheric effects look spectacular now. Combined with AutoOrtho and X-World SimHeaven it is always such a beautiful virtual environment, no matter where I'm flying.
Wonderful stuff. Thank you for what you do. I love the sim and the progress it's making. Please keep going. It's miles above MSFS in many areas. I LOVE taxiing aircraft in XP. Taxiing anything in MSFS is immersion-breaking. MSFS is great at certain things, but XP has so many strengths.
Thank you for having you and for having X-Plane! Now since you are finally using your own server for providing weather data, it would be great to have an option to have a little „time machine“ for loading historical weather data, for example to practice certain scenarios in certain areas.
Great stuff. I was using it the other day with foreflight and wasn't sure if it was coincidence that the radar depicted rain showers on foreflight seemed to match what I was flying into in xp12. I saw a reference to nexrad on your video so maybe not a coincidence! Thanks for all you do!
Love that you guys got weather to be read in the game. Can’t wait to be able to control the pitch hopefully for say the Zibo 737-800 WXR. Been waiting for this for years in both sims.
Great vid, great sim, great work and thank you so much for supporting other platforms than Windows! I am using XP12 at Linux (Debian) and it works great!
Austin, note that the surface winds are entered in MSL not AGL. I have seen this at multiple locations that are located above sea level. Surface wind reports dont match METAR.
This is indeed a new level of realism that is impressive. My only disappointments are the fact that when I upgraded, I lost the use of many 3rd party products I had invested in secondly, being from Canada, I was very disappointed seeing no ground accumulation during the winter months even if this data is available. The only time I saw the white stuff was when it was snowing, otherwise green grass in Quebec in January is killing the realism. I hope this gets addressed sooner than later. I saw the fine particle programming in a recent UT video and how it will translate for helicopter landings in snow, I hope this will not be “green” snow…
X-plane is still my primary sim. No need for weather addons in XP. One issue I hope you can have a look at: when in crz, temperature changes between grid cells and some aircrafts struggle with the rate of temperature change. Could you have a look at the rate? Been up to 700ft off assigned flightlevel before the aircraft is able to return to correct level. The zibo is just able to maintain, but inisim a300 is not. Makes it no fly on vatsim :(
I do like the improved dynamic weather, but there is one issue that I have with the weather--specifically wind direction and speed in X-Plane 12. For example, Skyvector (which I used for real-world flight planning until I was medically grounded) showed winds at KIDA 330 @ 9, but X-Plane 12 showed winds "Light and variable," which wasn't accurate. The "Light and variable" shows up quite often in X-Plane 12 when I click on various airports along my planned route, when the actual winds are neither light nor variable in the real world. Why is this?
I'm using X-Plane 11 real weather, but sometimes it'll cause 0 knots wind and I have to go update weather again, even during the flight in sky, sometimes it just once but sometimes I have to go update by manual again and again. When the 0 knots wind comes my plane will meet a strong turbulance, and after winds updated it also like this. Someone knows why?....
Im using the latest version of XP12. I love the weather. But could you please put some effort into getting your real world weather to match the default air traffic controls active runways. It gets frustrating having to choose between one or the other. Thank you.
This has gone a looong way since X-Plane 5 and its 3 layer manually adjusted weather with an option of downloading METAR in a form of txt file from some university ftp (long defunct) 😊
You can talk about how great your weather system is all day but why does my aircraft jump up and down in altitude in cruise because of the sudden temperature fluctuations all the time? Don't get me wrong, I love X-Plane, but this has been in the game since launch and it's still not fixed.
yes, runways can simulate snow, ice, or both snow and ice at different intensities. and the ground will actually show up white covered in snow as well, the leaves on the trees will be covered with snow, its really pretty
Weather aside why is the 737-800 a piece of crap with limited FMC input? I had to download Zibo mod to get a descent experience. You should make the Zibo the default 737-800
@@Nemura12 I ditched MSFS a long time ago for X-Plane, and never looked back since. All the eye candy in MSFS is absolutely meaningless to me, and sick of being stuck on a crappy UWP platform and a developer that keeps taking one step forward, but ten back.
@@Nemura12 With their planned addition of professions to 2024, how can you not see them going more towards a gaming experience instead of a flight simulator? Do you think they will be able to realistically portray all the professions they want to add or will they have to alter things based on how they want to score you for each profession and what level of difficulty you chose? It is perfectly fine for Microsoft to head in this direction if they think it will open up their product to a larger audience, but that larger audience is going to be less concerned with a realistic flight simulator experience and more interested in the gamified aspects that Microsoft attracted them with. If successful, it is quite likely that Microsoft will move further away from being a realistic flight simulator and add more game play in future titles. They might have a good flight simulator now, but you should be wary of the direction they seem to be headed and whether or not it will continue to be good for flight simulator enthusiasts.

I just bought ActiveSky in May and now it’s useless compared to the default weather😢
Oh that is fantastisch.. we will enjoy this new feature
Xplane has the best user interface.
Love the AZ in summer time comment where the summer temperature can cause delays because of density altitude.
I think you're doing a pretty decent job looking out my window too.

Hi Austin, really loving the X-Plane 12 experience. With all this new weather system, as there any practical use for addons like Active Sky anymore?
nope, save money and save fps
Finally! 🎉🎉🎉

Sometimes when I use live weather it just generates huge chunks of red areas and when i compare it to the live weather radar it doesnt just match it??
After years of nothing it’s much too little too late

Dear AUSTIN
did u see ground zitter as last few seconds of video, kindly solve that because of this frame-rate fluctuate so so much.
Nice weather! dont mind if i yabadabado

A fix for that is in internal testing and should roll out fairly soon.

Hi I'm a New Sub
🛩🌄
Does it work the same in xp11?
kind of, but on a much smaller scale and with less accuracy
@@wg.anthony but soooo smoothly and with best optimization ever seen in any flight simulator.

As someone who lives in Phoenix, I feel triggered.
Pup
should add to xp11 😂😂😂
we should forget 😄
X-Plane 11 is at EOL
Can we have the pause menu that doesn’t pause the sim while changing settings.
"globally" ... shows map with only North America and parts of Europe, Africa and South America 😅
Nice try
MSFS 2020-2024 left the chat.
they have officially become a roleplay game and not a sim anymore lol
@@wg.anthony Well, I disagree with you in that. Both sims are very good.
