Are you Kashubian? I'm a quarter 3rd generation Kashubian, can't speak the language, but I'm going to learn as much as I can. Have you looked at vintage Kashubian clothes?
If you can, please make some videos on our people, etc.? I want to learn more but there's not much compared to general Polish culture. Btw been a fan since 2018~.
Thank you for the hint. Gotta run 4now
Lol you look so much better with no make up..
"Here's my cringy modeling"
Me: "oh yeah show me some cringe!"
She pulls up gorgeous shots that I wish I could have done
my thoughts exactly
Then again, look back on your own pics from a decade ago. Perspective. I wish I looked as good now as I did ten years ago.
She is beautiful now, but when she had long hair, she was drop-dead gorgeous. I hope she will let it grow out again.
She looks like an Esprit model!
I THOUGHT THE SAME
When I was a teen, I used to literally cry whenever I looked at my photos, so I never took any. Most of all I hated when someone took them when I was having fun, the contrast was too grotesque to bear. Each time, I thought I looked even uglier, more repulsive and inhuman - and each time I thought "oh, those previous ones aren't quite as bad, these are the absolute worst"; and yet somehow I never connected the dots... Then one day I looked at those earliest ones, and what I saw was a normal kid, precious in her vulnerability and youth. Now I look at that very modest documentation of my adolescence and regret so much I have so little memories pictured. I've started regularly taking selfies, especially when I'm having fun or feeling happy. I still feel ugly and unworthy, but now I know I'll keep on growing more mature and healthy about it, and I'll be so glad I have those photos to look back on. The most valuable ones are those with your friends when you're just having silly fun... Looks don't matter. Cringe and cool don't matter (Lord knows they're just made up and extremely fickle, it's not even gonna register in a couple of years yet alone stay valid). It's my life and that's why it's beautiful and worth preserving. Personal photos are time capsules, not works of art.
I relate so much to this. I developed BDD (body dysmorphic disorder) when I was around 14. It was focused around my face and I hated how I looked. I literally thought the sight of me made other people feel sick. Never took any pictures, never let anyone else take any pictures either. The only ones I have from that time are extremely overexposed and edited selfies where you can't see anything other than my eyes. I met my best friend at 14 and we barely have any pictures together because of that reason. 11 years later and I'm regretting it so much. But at the same time, I'm a lot better now and I'm slowly getting to the point where I can take unedited selfies and not cry. I hope you're doing well. You're not alone. ❤
Me too!! I felt that way, I didn’t know it is an actual thing I’m slowly realizing things and getting better. Thank you for making me feel not alone ☺️
Damn, this comment made me feel understood. Thanks and have a nice day!!!
i’m going through this right now...
@@wistfulvictoria me too, I still hate getting photos. When I had to do the photo for my engineer diploma I had been stressed for a week before that... And of course I hated the result.

Your discussion at the end of how you think you're so grown-up at 18 is SO REAL. I'm 26 and every time I see that one of my peers from high school or college is getting married or having a kid, I think, "Aren't you a little young for that???" before remembering that getting married and having kids at 26 is...actually normal. Wild.
In my head everyone I went to school with is still 19, even if they're actually like 35 now :P
U should watch the new ish vsauce about time. Will make u think more of the same kind of thing
@Vicar Amelia yikes! That must have been hard for her. I'm the first AFAB person in my family for four generations not to have a child by 20. It makes me sad to think about, because none of them wanted to be parents that young, but had no choice.
I’m shocked when I realize my kids are now adults. I mean, they were just littles a few years ago and I’m not ready to be an adult, let alone having adult children!
@@battlebear437 Some years ago, one of my sister's friends became a grandmother. She said "My baby's having a baby!"
Unreachable aesthetics: period cramps in a mountain cottage.

I have gotta say how thankful I am to be in menopause even with the side effects. Those are so much better than having cramps thst would take me to my knees.

I had the Modelling Phase as well.. Meeting men with cameras in basements. Sometimes I marvel at the fact I did not get murdered.
It's strange to think that it was a safe environment before unlike now. Idk I remember hanging out with strangers when I was very much young and nothing bad happened.
what do you call a volunteer modeling job and where can you find photographers that are interested ? :O
I want to try exploring too but I can’t seem to find any photographers like that.
@@yoouamour I signed up on a website where photographers, models and makeup artists could meet. It accommodated both paid jobs and hobby type people. It was a Swedish site only, though, so I am not sure where to find something similar internationally 🤷♀️
Karolina: omg ew stop, these old cringe pictures
Also Karolina: literally looks like young Lana del Rey
She looks like Arwen in some of them
@@dreamslikememories544 Yeah, definitely reminds me of some early Liv Tyler photoshoots!
Some of those modelling pics are seriously good actually. The more “masculine” looks were very high fashion.
As someone who is nearing 50, my eyes welled up a few times watching this. It's easy to have more cringe than wistfulness when you don't have the benefit of more years behind your eyes...but when you do, you'll be so very glad you have this wonderful library of memories you built. I think it's amazing.
One thing I remember from being 18 was a conversation I overheard in college of the drama students asking "what if hell is just you reliving every single cringeworthy moment of your life"
Also wishing someone to step on lego is a crime against humanity
So... you were the one on festival who pushed our meme mom away? 👀

You really exposed yourself for this video 😅
Your modeling photos aren't as bad as you think. They look good and definitely capture the early 2010s
“early 2010s” just made me feel ancient 💀😂 but thank you!

I love her whole vintage vibes, but honestly, seeing her in more "modern" styles is kind of amazing and I love it. She gorgeous all the time, but I love these modeling pics. You're amazing Karolina, and I hope you enjoyed looking back on this. Also, the modern hair was actually incredibly flattering. But. Again, still beautiful now too
meme mom being taken aback for 23 minutes straight
Karolina: wears the same sweater from 2012-2016. "I told you I would be wearing this sweater 'til the end of time... I was still wearing it... in 2016"
Me: still wears most of the same cardigans I got when I was 14...
I am 29.
It's called having emotional attachment to clothes
It means you had at least one thing right at 14- cardigans are great
Still got the same summer jacket as 12 years ago. Yup...
(I should get a new one though, only one of the two pockets works.)
That's great :) We should all value our clothes a lot more, the fashion industry is one of the worst polluters
I’m a photographer and I would totally hire you still today...you have a very photogenic face , really gorgeous! Don’t lose your confidence in that! There’s nothing wrong with that 🥰🥰🥰
Young Karolina: *breathes*
Present Karolina: DISGUSTING
The „Modeling Phase“ was unjustly judged. These pictures look soo good! ♥️♥️
“when instagram was photos of your feet with heavy filters”
i feel attacked
I just uploaded a trio of foot selfies yesterday. Sue me.
Good times
This is an official petition for karolina to make a video trying to style her old beloved sweater in new.... i guess not new but vintage ways, who’s with me
"Oh that's Buster Keaton smiling". We've all been there😭😭
Nice try faking those "old images of you" we know you are a time traveler
And you are 150 years old
You missed three zeros when you typed that...
"They had us in the first half, not gonna lie"
Hehe
Karolina was actually there when the big bang happened alongside Queen Elizabeth
She's been here way before the dinosaurs btw
It is wild to know how universal some experiences are. We're almost exactly the same age and I did so much of that with my friends, only I grew up in Indiana, USA. It's strangely comforting to see that we were like that the world over.
I have a feeling the hair flipping photos were from the time when everyone tried to take a photo of flipping their wet hair at the beach. I vaguely remember such a time a few years ago :D
and here i am afraid of mirrors
Are you a vampire?
"everyone goes through a classy phase" I feel so called out.. I'm in that right now. And then you switch back and forth between that and the "streetwear phase" :')
This is exactly the quality content I'm here for :D
Also I applaud your bravery in facing those old photos and videos. I have a hard drive of my own with stuff from my old computer, and I am not going near that thing any time soon!
it did cost me a little bit of my sanity 💀 but the nostalgia was worth it!
“That was back when Instagram was like photos of your feet... with heavy filters”
OMG YES MY FIRST INSTAGRAM PHOTO IN 2012 WAS JUST A PICTURE OF MY FEET IN MY ELEPHANT HOUSE SLIPPERS WITH THREE LAYERED FILTERS AND A BLACK FRAME 😭😭😭😭😭 the good ol’ days of the interwebs
SAME THOUGH???? Like literally my first pic on insta was a pic of my feet in my woollen slippers with a filter and a black frame wtf did we all have the same teenage years

You've just had the weirdest connection :D :D It's so cute, though.
Video idea: how to pair bonnets and vintage hats with modern clothes? Or trying to mix vintage clothes with modern accessories?
The last clip almost made me cry?? Anyway, I am 16 and I feel that as a child I would have find you the most interesting person ever, and you would most definitely be my crush.
This is my exact thought and I'm 16 too! (just realized this comment was from a year ago so ur probably 17 now obv) Yeah i know. I'm so late for going through all Karolina's Videos)
Aww you’re beautiful! I think all young girls go through that stage where they are getting into their confidence and first feeling their own power of sensuality. The playful poses and expressions are all a part of it.
Oof, that nostalgia video hit hard. I also feel like I thought I was such an adult at 18 and 19 years old, and now as an almost 32 year old lady I look back and realize I was still so naïve to the world. Crazy. That modeling stuff though, that looks fantastic. The right photographer definitely brought out some amazing and expressive sides of you.
I was 18 in 2012 and this was a nostalgia trip for me 😭
also those modeling shots are gorgeous. don't sell yourself short, just appreciate them for what they are ❤
Please don't take me back to my cringy writing I wrote when I was 12
Well, we can conclude that your 18 year old self was creative and beautiful and you did so many projects
"putting my face in a cake while wearing an edwardian outfit" sounds like a pretty great video title tbh
When the music started at 20:59 it actually brought a bit of tears to my eyes. This is youth and our old selves will miss it ❤️
I'm jealous of 18 year old you, you were so tall, beautiful and confident. The fact you still like vintage stuff was so awesome. I expected you to have like an emo scene phase, which is just as awesome as vintage in my opinion
the proud face after she said "youve heard about meme review but have you heard of me review???" she's naturally funny
This video was refreshing, it made me realize how much my life has changed in the last year, simple things like going for a walk with friends, filming funny videos, laugh, hanging out...so many things that used to be normal, they don't feel so normal at the present. Also thank you for sharing with us all of our memories, you are gorgeous, talented and I think all of your videos I have seen so far, are also great, great content. Thank you again Karolina Zebrowska!!!
just the expression in the thumbnail makes me know this is gonna be top-tier comedy
The modeling picture of you in the lacy dress where your head is slightly tilted back is absolutely gorgeous! I know it's not your style anymore, but oh my goodness it is such a good picture! I love your hair in the modeling photos.
Alternative title: That time I looked like a brunette Bridget Bardot.
Younger Karolina looks kinda like the princess in the princess diaries movies, I think it's the hairstyling that helps but now I can't unsee it.
I'm 22 and suddenly I don't feel so old anymore. Lately, I've been feeling like my life is going down a predetermined path without my control, and I'm too old/out of time to change or start anything new.
That last little montage with the dreamy music hit me hard.
Spring is coming faster than it seems, my son is finishing school and organising to move out. It'll be just me and the cats, and the cats aren't interested in discussing music or books.
♥️
im so proud of myself for understanding the "how are you feeling" in Polish with no previous exposure to Polish (I do speak Russian though)
Other people: lol Karolina was so silly
Me: damn her hair is on point today
your reflections on the past are so spot on. I was 18 ten years ago and I feel exactly the same.
Ahhh the webcam photo days 😂😂🙌🏻let’s all forget that ever happened hahaha
I'm so happy that I speak Polish so I could understand what you're saying in those videos, there's nothing more authentic than hearing my language actually being used haha. Also that video at the end made me so nostalgic for something that I never experienced and it made me realize how much I miss my hometown (I was also born in Krakow)
I LOVE that sparkly font you used to put text on this video ahh it's so nostalgic and campy :D
the maribor sign literally made my heart flutter omg
18:40 I will never look at the benches in Tatranská Lomnica the same way ...
Loved all the photos and little videos. That photo of the random gentleman you took is excellent! You’ve really got quite the eye! Fun to see experimental stuff and just having fun with the camera and posing and making little universes.
Bravo! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
You’re such a neat person! Through all the tears! So beautiful too!
bb Karolina was so cute! You are working those modeling photos. I think we all look back on the stuff we were doing when we were 18 and cringe, but others don't think it's cringy at all. We're too harsh on ourselves
Honestly, alot of this stuff shows how creatively inclined you were/are and how much you liked experimenting. I think you should be less hard on your former not trained in industry standards self.
But GORL your modeling pictures are *so* gorgeous !? :(
As someone who has also come across some of their old creative writing on their computer, I knew Karolina wouldn't share the details of her story 😂
I wasn't expecting such an emotional ending with that outro speech and that background music playing when just a moment ago we were making fun of meme mom's young self (idk why I even said that your photos from 2012s looks better than my 2021 photos)
I mean who isn't obsessed with Buster? One of the greats.
Cops is still a masterpiece along with laurel and hardy's lucky dog
How dare you post it at the moment I was looking at my pictures from five years ago with immense mix of nostalgia and realization, how much of a child I was back then (and knowing that a few years later I would think the same about my current self)
15:25 i absolutely adore you for having had the courage to do this
The photos you shot are incredible, and the model pics too.
Carolina: "my hairs not good..." Several times
Me: sees actual hair perfection and has trouble keeping simple curls in my hair....
Why do you apologize? You were such a beautiful young girl . You are still beautiful and talented woman. Never apologize for being you. We all love you . You seemed to be a great sister and a wonderful friend.
17:09 the cake moment masterpiece, the answer to your questions, the solution to your problems.
This is so sentimental for such a fun video lol (and you probably won’t read this), but I just wanted to comment how much this video helped me rn. I came here thinking “oh it’s going to be a fun video about cringy pasts” but the videos and pictures from when you were 18 or 20, especially the last part, were so soothing to me. I’m going to be 21 in a few weeks and I don’t feel ready to be an adult yet. I find that my teenage years were kinda unfulfilling and I still want to experience many things before “adulting”. I always thought we were around the same age, but now that I realized that you’re older than me and that you still get to do all the fun stuff and express yourself, it gave me a confident feeling about the future. Thank you!
Karolina's pictures were amazing, like that hardisk was a complete treasure chest. It is so nice she shared it with us.
Karolina's 18 year old self was so amazing (not that nowadays she is not, but now she is the Great Meme Mom), I'll turn 18 in two months and really hope to look back on it someday and find it as awesome as she did rediscovering her 18 old self.
I tried to do this. Opened a 10 year old folder, saw the first image and closed it immediately.
you look GREAT in those modeling pictures
"Firstly we have a folder which is called 'funny stuff' and OMG--"
*proceeds to look at Tumblr images*
I love all of these. You were so cute, and all of your different projects and the things at you pursued them- that’s all so charming. Don’t hate on past you!!! She was really beautiful, and gave way to who you are today.
Karolina: so here are my cringey old pics
Also Karolina: *shows those modelling photos*
Hello?? I thought they looked amazing, my 18-year-old self could never, she had bad hair AND bad camera presence 😅
Ok so the 2012 nostalgia hit me hard--I was living in eastern Europe that summer and the sight of red-headed villages in the mountains is *chef's kiss*
The ending (20:55) is actually quite moving :)
im 18 right now, and i am so excited to look back at myself and be like "who let me do these things, why was i like this" because its so much fun to see how much you can change over time, heck ive changed so much in just the past 2 years, idk its a nice compare and contrast of human experience sometimes
2:12 i didnt recognize you for a second there karolina wow you are ✨gorgeous✨

"What year is that?" that's what your time-traveling self said.
You are gorgeous now and you were gorgeous then, and none of this is cringey, it's all adorable and sweet.
This is so cathartic
I feel like I've seen perfume ads here on RUclips that look exactly like your artistic photos and videos. Like they are trying to get that sweet sweet 4 pixel gold.

You actually were a pretty decent model, hair panic aside, in your teens. But obviously when you are wearing an Edwardian dress then sticking your face into a pie pretty much is the pivotal moment of your life. My inner Pole loved this. Thanks Karolina.
YOU ARE STUNNING 😭
Also WOW that last video reminded me so much of the choir trips I took in college and just took photos of absolutely everything and uploaded them all to Facebook 😭💖
Please save every one of these modeling photos somewhere safe. It can feel a little cringe now to go back and look at them, but when you're 60 or 80 or 100, you'll look back with much kinder eyes and instead of seeing how hard you were trying, it'll be easier to just see a beautiful young girl just having fun, and you'll wonder why you were insecure in the first place.
Girl, your modeling photos are GORGEOUS!!!
"would not recommend"
Well now, that's up to me to decide isn't it?
so pretty and CONFIDENT in her older pictures! I hope you gain that confidence back. None of this was embarrassing or cringe. Be kinder to your younger self when you get older.
