I like the third doctors console and roundels but I can see why you like the 80s model, it has that hole vibe of keyboards and slim design. Its a cool video.
This is just eye candy, It's so great with so many controls making seem more like a tardis, a complex machine. It feels real, like you could actually see it in the show. It has many great tardis-like traits. The mechanics to make everything blink and move makes it seem like the Tardis is actually completing tasks to keep it moving and keep it flowing with the space-time continuum.
Still, this is incredibly impressive for a fan-made Tardis. It's really authentic to the original one in the show, and it's awesome that you got the cast to sign it.
I love that console! Amazing job! Got a big smile on watching this. Just found out I'll be working with the console designer Mike Kelt in the next week. Will try to play it cool.
SciFiAssasin Glad you got a kick out of watching this! I'd love to know if Mike has seen this video. I wish I could meet him in person and thank him for designing and producing (in my opinion) the best TARDIS Console in the show's history! Please send him my warmest regards! :D
Cheers Mark! Yes, keeping well and the console is being preserved well though sadly is remains in its shipping containers most of the time as I have nowhere to have it fully assembled. I make small tweaks to it when I get the time. :)
This design is perhaps the most dated console because it looks so much like a 1980s conception of future technology. That is not to detract from the workmanship on this duplicate prop, though. It is meticulously detailed down to the last button and screen graphic and looks as if it could actually have been used on the show itself. Just a beautiful job all around. A museum-quality replica.
I totally agree with you, LordZontar! Indeed it does look quite dated with the big clunky keyboard keys and CRT monitors. It’d be interesting to see an updated variation on the same concept, however that too would become dated quite quickly. Thanks for your kind words on the workmanship! It was quite a job but one worth the time and effort. I couldn’t have done it without the help of my friend and mentor over at PB Props and Models, and my best man who did all the programming and automation. Without their help it would still be in an unfinished state!
Well done, the attention to detail here is incredible I was convinced it was the real one so well done for that :) . Also Fantastic that it has been signed by Four Doctors maybe more now. Absolutely amazing
This would be a sick way to open your bedroom door to show off to your friends, like on button opens the door, the other opens the bed door, on for the coat cupboard e.g.
the one i call the computer keyboard console and very well done too. doctor who the show that just keeps giving for fans and old actors too, pity covid got in the way.
if you have a spare room in your house you could put your tardis in front of the door and redecorate the room with the console in it and the circle things on the wall
Hello, great work on the console! I have no idea if this will ever be noticed, considering the age of the video. But I am really trying to create my own life-size replica of the 80's tardis console. I was wondering if you have any tips on how you achieved this to it's fullest extent? Right now i'm quite busy with work, and won't have have a decently long period of free days to work on building it from wood for instance, but I am 3D printing switches and buttons and what not, not all of them are screen-accurate, (not the ones used in the show but like, little keyboards and switches I found online) but I like it this way. Anyhow, just passing by and wondering if you have any tips :)
I really like this console design, it's much better than the awful New Series designs! Problem is, this replica console can NEVER be cleaned again, as it will rub all the autographs off! 😂😂😂
Lol! Thanks for your comment! I can assure you that I hadn’t ever seen the original until I went to Cardiff in 2017, just months before the Doctor Who Experience closed down. As I live in Australia, I had to rely on loads of reference pics, prototyping, and help from a friend of mine in the UK who had acquired some measurements derived from parts that came from the original moulds. 😎
Hay man I’m wanting to build a TARDIS console of my own and I’m very puzzled on how you made the demat lever activate the time rotor and the sound effects can you tell me how you did it?
Cheers for that! Yeah, it does weigh a bit. Both the top and under-side panels lift off leaving six 'elbows' which also lift off. Then the time rotor and central mechanism are left over. All of the panels are transported in two road cases on wheels. :)
That's right. The switches and door lever are all connected in to a USB PC interface. Long term goal is to do away with the PC and use either arduino or Raspberry Pi.
Hi Ris Risov! The console screen videos used were slides that I made myself in Adobe Photoshop. There are also a couple of animations that were 'borrowed' from RUclips. :)
I never really liked this console, it felt like a pyramid. Both the buttons themselves and the time rotor just felt too angular (right angles). I preferred Davison's first console.
This literally is the best Tardis console I have seen, the 80's one is my favorite.

'Sylvester McCoy waz ere!' - Hahaha, I love Sylvester!!
If this is a replica then I'm very impressed, it shows you've got a genuine talent for design. Also, it's good to have a hobby.

Shut up and take my regenerations!
Seriously though, it's absolutely beautiful

Best replica tardis ever

Jarrod Lungley this is so amazing
Mcgann in a classic console room is amazing!
I do miss proper buttons, everything is so swipey these days.
A thing of beauty...
That’s just beautiful well done.
A beautiful piece of work.
A great recreation of one of my favourite consoles.
This is fucking gorgeous. Congrats on all of your hard work paying off!
With all the expense put into this fine instrument I would imagine it would pay off at conventions etc. Brilliant work done.
Remember you building this, and remember you posting this video.
Hope you're keeping well, and hope the console is too!
Cheers Mark! Yes, keeping well and the console is being preserved well though sadly is remains in its shipping containers most of the time as I have nowhere to have it fully assembled. I make small tweaks to it when I get the time. :)
Yes looks rather splendid doesn't It?

Wow, just like the original, great work.
God damn that is a beauty. Always loved this version. Great work.
got all the doctors who used that console there, which was probably the best thing they have done that day for memory sake and Paul Mcgann
Oh, my hearts!
And it's even been touched by McCoy and McGann ✨
Stunning, perfect
70s is my faveroute still but still amazing
Cool! It really looks "The Business"!
Sylvester McCoy waz here. I love it :3

Totally amazing! That's my favorite Tardis console!
2:16 I love that sound, this is one of my favourite sounds of the tardis.
That's just plain amazing. Not only it actually works, Doctors 5 - 8 signed it. You sir, are a whovian.
Lovely tardis

Awesome!!! Congratulations on a fine piece of work.:D
That's just beautiful
Wish I had a TARDIS console it will be… Fantastic!
Awsome! Love this console..I want one.
I had my photo taken with this console at Lords of Time 2013 in Melbourne. Fantastic effort!!! As impressive in real life as it is in this video...
I would so order one!
This would be a sick way to open your bedroom door to show off to your friends, like on button opens the door, the other opens the bed door, on for the coat cupboard e.g.
Amazing
You've done such an incredible job of this Mr. Lungley! that's a fanboy effort right there :P
I have a tom baker one too but its the one before this but agter secondary
really amazing work!

Fantastic.
"Approved" - Love it
That's pretty awesome
Remember watching this build back in the day on TARDIS Builders! Stunning work and my favourite console ever :-) Hope its still going strong?
Awesome 👌 👏 👍
OMG my favorite console
Hello, great work on the console!

WOW.
That is soooooo cooooool
Dear Santa...
I really like this console design, it's much better than the awful New Series designs! Problem is, this replica console can NEVER be cleaned again, as it will rub all the autographs off! 😂😂😂
Thanks Clive! Yes, cleaning was a problem until I placed clear adhesive PVC over the top of the signatures. Thanks for your comment! 👍😎
Does this thing still exist? Where is it based?
I want one!
wow.
that is so cool
Poetry... pure poetry! Do the console monitors all work as well?
Omg so cool :3
Cool 😎👍💙👏⭐️🤩😆😍👌💚
Wow!!!
wtf? u did this? great work man!
if the BBC did a classic remade and they didn't use the original cast but this console and look a likes I'd be happy
Don't lie to me, you just managed to get your hands on the original and pass it off as your replica.
Hi just wondering where did you manage to source all of the buttons from? Thanks, awsome console by the way
Hay man I’m wanting to build a TARDIS console of my own and I’m very puzzled on how you made the demat lever activate the time rotor and the sound effects can you tell me how you did it?
Which 4 doctors?
Peter Davison, Colin Baker, Sylvester McCoy, Paul McGann initially, then Peter Capaldi a couple of years ago. 😎
@@jarrodlungley Ok thank you
What was the venue location in Melbourne for Lords of time?
Jarrod, awesome effort mate, I'm curious, how do you transport it around and lift it? It must weigh a bit !!
Cheers for that! Yeah, it does weigh a bit. Both the top and under-side panels lift off leaving six 'elbows' which also lift off. Then the time rotor and central mechanism are left over. All of the panels are transported in two road cases on wheels. :)
So the sound plays when you pull the lever, if this using some sort of computer, like a raspberry pi??
That's right. The switches and door lever are all connected in to a USB PC interface. Long term goal is to do away with the PC and use either arduino or Raspberry Pi.
+Jarrod Lungley oh right that is nice, well congrats it is great
+Jarrod Lungley how did you get the time rotor to move up and down, is that also using the computer, which motor is it ??
it's wobbly wobbbly timeywimym
Perhaps you should use a BBC Computer to maintain authenticity, although probably hard to get hold of one these days.
Just shows how good this design could have looked in a less over lit set.
Is that the console at the drwho place in cardiff i was being bad and playing with all the buttons
No it was not the actual one. That one in Cardiff was a replica.
Ack. Wrote all over it. Hope you have a spare.
I love this console! But those buttons...
*Too much...*
Where you find a console screen video? (sorry for errors i'm a russian)
Hi Ris Risov! The console screen videos used were slides that I made myself in Adobe Photoshop. There are also a couple of animations that were 'borrowed' from RUclips. :)
I keep thinking how cool it would be to own one. Then I think what if it breaks. I’m screwed.
Tutorial to build plz
It's got the round things... oh i love the round things!
Hi , where did you manage to source your TARDIS console sound from?
So impressive. A shame to write on it though
do u have directions on how i could build one of these or buy one? thanks
0:45
Paul McGann Derp Face.
How did you get the sound fx and how did you get them to play?
Hi! All the sound effects and automation is controlled by a program that my best man wrote for me using Visual Basic. :)
The theme sounds like it's been reconstructed?
Cloister Productions no, its always been that in the 80s
I never really liked this console, it felt like a pyramid. Both the buttons themselves and the time rotor just felt too angular (right angles). I preferred Davison's first console.
did u get this from garry's mod
Bruh no
