      This video bought tears to my eyes when you mentioned having a lack of confidence. It touched me deeper than you know. First I want to say God Bless You and Your Business 🙌🏾🙏🏾👏🏾 I just started designing balloons about 3 and a half weeks ago to date (October 22). I started off with balloon columns because it’s fairly easy to grasp the concept of structure and how to put one together. My true passion is garlands but I am so afraid because they look so complexed it’s like I know I can do it but because I’m hard on myself I doubt. I’m starting to get business inquiries since I launched my page on IG last week and I’m already struggling with prices FOR COLUMNS. How do I not give discounts to my friends and family. They don’t get it and a simple price of 45 dollars or 2 columns for $90 regardless of the look is a problem. I would love to know how you overcame this. People you don’t tend to know is either interested or not but with family and friends it is so much harder. I would also love to take your designing class!! As I continue to practice I know I will be there indeed!!! I just wanted to say thank you 🙏🏾 very very impactful message and that meant the most!! KNOW YOUR WORTH💕🙏🏾

Rn it's making sure i set a starting price & sticking to it nomatter who it's for...Doing it for free, but always putting your best foot fwd just leads to an early burn out! so, since you're just starting off..It's best to set your prices right off the rip !! It saves you the headache that I'm currently dealing with..which is trying to grow my prices as I grow..people get spoiled & feel like you should continue to do them favors even when you outgrow $20gigs!!! Build up your portfolio! Do mock set ups at home & take pics! They don't have to know that wasn't a booking 🤫..Show them you're staying busy!! High demand = $$$!!! @@MsLadyyTv it’s okay I really needed to hear that!! I wish I could show you picture of what I created so far😩 the pressure is really girl and I totally agree with you. I’m going to take the time to come up with a pricing plan. Starting from today I’m going to start timing myself to see how long it takes to blow up every balloon plus constructing the column or arch or Garland. And I love to work with feathers and silk flowers and all that good stuff, up until yesterday I discovered that I was supposed to be charging for those additives, I didn’t even know I was just love the overall look but I’m learning now those things cost extra and right now it seems like I’m losing more money then making any and that’s extremely disheartening because I love what I do! @nelzee7410 3 года назад +2

    I def went higher than $350….
    I price according to balloon cost so….
    3 colors 3 sizes
    (prices are just examples)
    18” $30,11” $20,5”$10= $60 a color
    X3colors=$180
    + travel time + labor= $200+ 3 prop rental @about $20 each.
    Total= $440 and if I have to pick the props up I’d charge $25 a prop. That’s usually the formula I use. My goal is to always use 3 sizes it makes the garlands fuller and gives it the beat organic look if that’s what we’re going for. It may seem pricey but my arches will last bc I buy ONLY quality balloons. Beyond that I’m not looking to book 5 parties a weekend I’d rather so 1 or 2 and give my undivided attention and attention to detail. I also have a full time job and 2 boys that are sports crazy. So my time is absolutely priceless. My first mistake in under pricing was a Chanel party I did……. If I showed y’all everything I did for $550 you’d all band me. Balloons, Chanel props, back drop, mannequin with personalized tshirt and when I tell you not to toot my own horn it all came out absolutely GORGEOUS. I beat myself in the head so hard after that one bc of the time and effort I put into it and my reward was basically less than $300 after I paid my partner. That isn’t the kind of pricing I am worth. I do ALOT of research and trails to make $300 for work that took me weeks to prep for. I’ve learned my worth and I’m ok with telling customers to do their research on other companies. I keep them educated so that they can make the best decisions for them. It’s what I would want in a vendor. Are they reliable, what quality balloons are they using (especially for outdoor settings), how long does it take them to set up, Look at their work is there any details such as gaps…… I’m not trying to burn no one else’s hustle I’m highlighting why mine is $450 and there’s is $300. The decision is theres I follow up max 3 days later and so far I’d say out of 5, 3come back and book….. and I am totally ok with that number. We can all eat but me personally I prefer to eat Kobe rib eye no chuck. 😂…… I’m not perfect but I’m perfecting. Justine Thank you!!! for your inspiration and videos I always take something away with me when I watch them I appreciate you. Now do a 1 on 1 giveaway please 😂.

    So, I am brand new at this... I actually thought you would charge somewhere between $400- $450 for this with props. I would expect prop rentals and backdrop rental would be roughly $30-$40/item. How do you decide on prop rental fees, especially if you purchase for that specific client?

      That's a really good question and thank you for writing this comment. When it comes to pricing, in my coaching program, I usually tell my designers to rely on what they think is a good price and then we usually breakdown the price together. This way they feel comfortable charging their price and to ensure they're not undercharging like how I did when it came to my balloon business. Hope this helps!

    350-400 plus delivery and pick up fees. If I supply the props, balloons, delievery, set up and pick up then it has to be profitable for me and worth my time and effort. If I don't make enough money to justify being away from my husband and not spending time with one or more of our nine grandchildren then it is not worth me doing the event and they can do it themselves or hire someone else.

    I'm assuming the amount you put on the screen does not include the materials (balloons, flowers, prop rental, etc, because making balloon garlands are a lot of work. Thank you for your videos. I just found you today and you give great advice! What about deposits when they place an order? Would you charge a big non-refundable deposit to be sure they will go through with the order and also, do they pay the balance on the day of event?

      My prices have definitely gone since this video was launched. Thank you for watching and welcome to my channel.
      I always require a 50% deposit of the overall total. I used to take payment the day of the event but it never worked in my favor because you cheated on the client to pay when they’re already stressed about their of it. Instead what I do now is require the payment to be paid off at least a week before the event. That’s usually the advice I give my designers when it comes to collecting payments within their than business. I hope this helps and thank you so much for watching.

I know some people charge a fee to come back and get their stuff and while they are there, they will take it down. It doesn't take long to take it down anyways!

      If you need that’s fair, then that’s all that matters. However, if you wanted to turn your side hustle into a business, I would say you’re not charging enough. Plus I don’t recommend for my designers to take on events where they aren’t able to buy their own supplies
