Stunning at 60, yes being financially stable keeps the wrinkles away BUT she has had as many emotional challenges in her life as the rest of us, I find her profoundly comforting.
Yeah Botox and fillers keep wrinkles away too. Stop commenting on women's looks. Go comment on a man's 60 year old face and tell him to use face cream why don't you. Being non wrinkly isn't an achievement to celebrate in women. Stop commenting on women's looks as if it's the most important thing.
I've been a (mostly) vegan for a few years now, for health reasons, but I was, in my younger years, often the host of family get-togethers. So I would combine 2 of the questions in one response : what to do with picky eaters & what to say when they ask what they can bring ~ as a vegan I like to bring something that I can eat & enjoy, and enough of it for everyone to at least try (and it Must then be delicious). And I add this on vegan chat sites too, when the conversation heads towards the "oh poor me, there was nothing I could eat at the party" stage. I start with : be glad you were invited, be a gracious guest, and contribute something.
Nigella's cranberry orange almond pudding is a staple for our Christmas dinner dessert. She cooked it in her Christmas Bites Christmas show about 20 years ago.
Vegan stuff to have/add: White Beans with sage and olive oil. cook down (with salt, if you are not using canned) remove the "spent" sage, add some curated sage leaves at the last minute, finish with good olive oil, and black pepper, Great for crostini the next day. Never had a complaint from anyone.
My all time girl crush! I have many of her books and they have never failed me, she is always generous in spirit and if more people followed her philosophy for relaxed dining, I think there would be many more folks saying with sincerity ‘Happy Christmas’!
I adore nigella so much. People wonder what has made her so successful and I think it's nothing more than she's real and genuine and simply shares what she loves with love.
My favourite Christmas Eve supper is canned tomato soup with bought but high quality crusty bread, heavily buttered. Very delicious and minimal trouble. Thank you for the video!
We won't be doing regular Christmas this year, so I thought I'd make the meal-I absolutely have that "please don't go in the kitchen while I'm cooking unless absolutely necessary" mindset, too-so these were good tips!
omg its so nice to see the queen of the kitchen back on our screens i have watched all of her older stuff on you tube and its a must for me at christmas and nigella you are looking so well love from south wales hope you do loads of christmas things this year for me its just not christmas without a bit of nigella
Just had to say this I am a pastry chef partly inspired by Nigella and since I made her turkey recipe for the 1st time more than 10 yrs ago it has changed our Christmas dinner for ever
Jansson's Temptation - the most underrated dish! Thank you for recognizing this one Nigella; and I am sorry your family is not a fan of the fish. We usually make our own twist on it with the addition of some Cod, to create a one dish meal.
Speaking as an American who loves nigella, if you’ve got someone who doesn’t like Christmas pudding. You can easily Win them over with ginger bread, or a really big batch of cookies served with milk or hot chocolate. If you want to make it super holiday special with low effort; I live in the north east and molasses cookies are really popular here. Grab a store bought mix and make the cookies, and then turn them into sandwich cookies using ginger perseveres.
Nigella is a gem. I loved her response to dealing with fussy eaters... I'm thoroughly sick and tired of adults who eat like toddlers with their self-imposed dietary restrictions (not talking of people with legitimate allergies or religious prohibitions). When I'm a guest at someone's home, I don't try to dictate their menu -- I eat what's served and at least pretend to enjoy it. I blame this food pickiness on why the dinner party has died.
I don't like people in the kitchen either so I dish out jobs (for those who want one) like ''drinks monitor'', making sure everybody stays topped up. Men love fire so I often ask one of the chaps to keep the fire going with logs. Have a great holiday.
I can't understand some of these comments - if you're going to say nasty things about Nigella or different kinds of eating or dishes, don't watch a video of Nigella talking about food!
Honestly as a picky eater when I was younger her advice is so right. I hated drawing attention to myself and what makes it worse is when people question you or try to OVER accommodate and go to extra trouble which then makes you feel guilty, eating was my issue you can just ignore it leave me to chill and I could happily enjoy the party atmosphere (and alcohol) without some of the food the last thing you want to feel like is a burden.
Re: Fussy Eaters, I totally agree with Nigella...if they have that much of an issue with the food they dont have to come...sorry but people that make an issue often dont know exactly what goes into planning a Christmas meal. A lot of time and effort goes into it.
For a juicy delicious turkey deep fry it! Once you do that and you will never go back. My husband deep fried our turkeys for twenty years and it was always the hit of the party. I have to do it now since his passing in 2019 but it's not the quite the same. Still delish though. I love Nigella's Christmas videos the best.
If christmas is stressing you out, you’re doing it wrong. Be like the Swedes and keep it minimal. Do only your favourite things and forget what other people are expecting from you, especially this year as most of us will be having very small intimate gatherings anyway.
Love you Nigella. Love watching you cook. As for all the picky eaters? Christmas is stressful enough. That’s the last thing I would worry about. Just don’t invite them.
Totally agree. I’m vegan and I do not bang on about it. I eat Christmas dinner with my huge family and eat all the veg. Spuds. If I need anything special I bring it. No fuss. Good practical ideas from Nigella. Oh visitors can bring a small present wrapped and simply exchange with others. Do not bring wine or food hate that.
Nigella is right. Brining the turkey over night yields the juiciest meat. Did it one year, was delicious , Last year did more traditional way, wasn't as good, so back to the Nigella formula
Why can’t people just enjoy the gifts people bring \ why be the critic 🔎 Can you imagine how it is🧐 jeez you never know what’s going on ... just be grateful 🥰
Yeah true. How dare those fussy eaters complain...make them eat food that may cause them an allergic reaction and they could maybe even die...but yeah...they're just rude and ungrateful.
@@Skiptondesigns don’t pretend that someone’s meal cooked for you is completely compromised of ingredients that would induce anaphylactic shock. There are alway elements you can eat. Just ask may I just take some vegetables and rice. Or whatever is there. Or better still don’t go.

@@NN-fz4pd I’d celebrate anyone that looks that good at 60. It takes a lot of effort. Personally I couldn’t care what the sex is of the person.
I concur with your sentiment.
Yes she looks great as ever but I’m sure she’s had a lot of help!
I met her at a book signing a couple of years ago and she is simply charming and warm and lovely, and I am so happy to share a birthday with her.
I love this lady. Everything about her screams generosity, with herself and with others. She’s just wonderful.
'Generosity with oneself' sound like selfishness or gluttony.
OMG I think exactly the same 💗
She's lovely

She's still beautiful after all these years.
I'm really in awe of her beauty and humbleness.
