We couldn't run new wiring (which would have been expensive if we could), so we got our first Echo which completely solved our problem for about $40 (Echo Dot and smart plug). We just ask Alexa to turn on/off that light. Heartily recommend it to solve this kind of conundrum!
you should have done it using broadlink rm mini 3 or rm mini 4 instead or rm pro since your not using rf, that would have make your cost 1500 lesser and even better tagline
Can we use it for lights, fan. Secondly what about multiple rooms. Thirdly,Appliances we are using are wifi enabled or alexa compatible?? Or any non wifi compatible traditional apppliances be connected as well?

Actually you dont need echo dot devices itself, you can simply use alexa app which is free just set up, you can command one drawback is whenever you need to command you need to open the alexa app. So, what I am trying to say is no need of 4 echo dot device just buy one and experiment, in rest less usage area use alexa app
This method is excellent for old devices using infra-red remote and without Bluetooth or wi-fi, as the Broadlink device is a Universal infrared remote connected to wi-fi. If you don't want to create a login on the Chinese Broadlink server, India's very own Oakter is available for a similar price.
Looks like you bought echo dot and that IR blaster for 5k each 😂, today we can get echo dot in amazon days at 2.5k and oakremote IR blaster less than 1k.
