For spiced pasta yes it does add umami. You can also save the oil for dry instant ramen, i know it's not healthy but the oil makes the noodles super chewy.
Here you go with another video with my favorite foods- tuna and pasta. I have a stockpile of tuna and pasta both. I’ve been eating up my garbanzo bean stockpile with your chickpea recipes. Oh my goodness- I have pine nuts too! I was going to make pinoles but never did. Thank you!!!
Yet another wonderful recipe, and this one is especially beautiful, with that dark-green pesto! I also agree with Madame Champagne, your speaking voice is delightful to listen to. (Do you sing at all? I bet you would be a very good singer, if you wanted to be! Maybe a lyric baritone?)
Tuna and pesto genovese have a natural affinity. I often make a pasta salad that I had in Rome years ago, basically genovese, tuna , potatoes, and green beans /haricots verts. I say genovese because there are many different types of pesto in Italy, but it is the most well-known in other countries.
@@Berrymore84 to better bind the sauce, to soften the bitter edge, for texture. No need to put a lot and make a creamy pesto but just a touch of cream at the end as well as a hint of chili to give it a small kick made it better for me and my GF. But hey, taste and seasoning is rather subjective. Just enjoy any way you like!
@@ohhellnokamon4166 I actually love the idea of adding a bit of cream as a finishing touch, especially if i don't have any cheese on hand. I use whipping/heavy cream in my milk tea as well, along with sweetened condensed milk. It really gives it a silky and velvety feel. But as a good rule of thumb, more is not better 😉

I would use that tuna oil in making the pesto. 👍
I have in the past, but it over-powers the pesto sauce :) Much love!

Would a bit of cream to bind the sauce together at the end help make it more silky and rich?
If you have enough olive oil why would you need cream? Unless you wanna make creamy pesto which is another variation.
