A lot of feeding issues with the gen 1 and 2 smokefires are a result of the wire finger guard in the bottom of the hopper. I removed that on my gen 1 ex4 and have no problems with pellet feed. As for the glow plugs, i haven't had this problem specifically but i know other have suggested bad contact between the plug itself and the holder could be the issue. To remedy this, somw have used a small hose clamp to ensure good contact. Hopefully this info can help you out.

Just bought the elx6 (Sear+ Model) and hope its good. I have always bought weber products without review as they are known to be amazing. I hope this $1100 spend ends up working well. If not I think I can forfeit and return to Weber with their Money back. If this fails I think the next best up is Traeger Iron Wood but, I hope I don't come to that and this Weber works.

Thanks for the informative review. I just took delivery on an elx4, which is their latest model. I have not had any issues yet. I've grilled some steaks, chicken, and fish, and all came out great. I also smoked a turkey breast for four hours a couple of days ago and it also came out well. I have't cleaned it yet either - no grease fires. My only complaint is that it consumes a lot of pellets (compared to a gas grill, which is pretty efficient), but I guess that goes with the territory. Weber has a 100 day return policy on these grills so I'll be watching for the problems you identified.

first gen with the upgrades. But I've been told from people that the gen 2 isn't any better.

Agreed great video. I wasn't sure what way you were going to go bc of the flavor etc but good job calling out the big name brand

We will always call it like we see it. They have some of the best flavor out there hands down, too bad they ruin it with the problems.

Sounds like you gave it every chance and then some to impress, but in the end her flaws were just too significant and she had to find the curb
