I really like using torrent for the Elden Beast fight. It may be too easy now, but before it was plain unfun. My head canon was always that Torrent is the tarnished trump card. Trivializing the cosmic god thingy because of Torrent just feels right in my mind.

Fun fact that makes Malenia's great rune a bit better, briar armor rolls heal you the same as an attack, on top of keeping posture damage up and staggering low poise enemies.
@TheRealJohnHoopercounter some of its effects with the Full bloom guardian garb (+10% flask healing but -22% fire absorption) or the crimson seed talisman (+20% flask healing), or the crimson scarab headpiece works too (+10% flask healing, -5% to all absorptions)
I feel like any skill expression for elden beast is now gone. Most of his attacks don't even come close to hitting. Is a final boss supposed to be easy now

Like if they were to revert malenia's waterfowl to her 1.0 version because people thought it was too hard. I'll take an easy but epic looking final boss over an annoying one any day, as someone who literally beat the game a couple of days ago, fighting EB for the first time was a fucking NIGHTMARE, from the perspective of a casual player it just felt like running back and forth getting Your ass blasted by lasers non-stop, it was just plain unfun as hell, now I get to look cool on a horsie! Also, before EB there's still a bunch of difficult bosses to get through, if my reward for all these fights is a cool spectacle, I honestly don't mind at all

Nahh, i may sound a bit salty as i just finished my RL1 run and i had to perfectly time stagger so elden beast doesnt cast elden stars, because there was no way to not get hit. I dont think this boss is suposed to be fought on horse back, yeah i get it, it dives and swims away and shit, but that is for a reason. The whole thing is a joke if you can never get caught in the circles or the fast pew pew homing projectiles, theres 0 skill to it now. It either needs a patch to adjust it to players having a horse or revert the change.
I feel like Elden Beast is going to get a buff at some point to compensate for it's lack of challenge against Torrent. We'll just have to see what FromSoft thinks about that. But I'm happy they allow players to ride Torrent when facing the Elden Beast. Not only does it make gap-closing less annoying, but it feels climactic in an almost "full-circle" kind of way.
Seeing the patch notes and finding out Malenia's Great Rune rally effect was seemingly buffed had me excited to finally be able to play more aggressively like a Bloodborne Hunter, but now I'm disappointed to see that it actually wasn't that big of a buff and the Great Rune still sucks, just slightly less than before.
I'm of the opinion that Radagon is tough enough that Elden Beast being "trivialized" by Torrent isn't really a problem. Besides, it feels very narratively appropriate to finish the adventure with your steed who has been your constant companion for the entire journey.
I've always felt like Elden Beast should've been a spectacle boss fight, instead of an actual 2nd phase for Radagon. I'm at the point where I can do both phases pretty consistently, but I feel like this is way better from a design perspective.

There is a 0% chance they designed a boss that ends 99% of its attacks by teleporting across one of the largest boss arena's from has ever developed, in a game in which the player can ride a horse in many other boss fights, to not be fought on horseback. We can only guess as to why they were so reluctant to implement this change when literally everyone with a brain from the moment we first saw the Elden Beast fight knew it was a mistake to not allow the use of Torrent.

dude i wanted to like malenia's great rune so bad but couldn't. now i might try it out again because 85 percent is so much better than the 70 that it was. and the hits heal you for more which makes it seem a lot more appealing. i might use it for the dlc tbh

It's genuinely too little too late for Elden Beast. Everyone's memories are already tainted by how ass it was for 2 years. Why did it take 2 years to add this in?
I only had a few mins to test, but pretty sure the Moonlight GS Projectile also got a sneaky damage nerf alongside the poise. Compared the same 2 scenarios with 80 INT and I got around 374 less damage overall. 1816 from 2190, tested on sewer omens
i can't be the only one who doesn't like the torrent change, i mean yeah fighting elden beast with torrent is cooler, but it was clearly designed to be fought on foot and this change basically trivialised the final boss
Looks like Torrent trivializes half his attacks. Yeah the large arena made it somewhat a pain without him but it's the final boss of the game I'd rather they make that fight harder not easier

Torrent is my partner who's been with me since nearly the beginning, who's stuck with me through thick and thin, even if Melina decided to betray us if we joined the 3 fingers. And you mean to tell me that in the FINAL boss of the game, which decides the fate of the Lands Between and determines if we become Elden Lord... and you mean to tell me I CAN'T use my trusty steed? Honestly, even if the fight was better i'd still say that's a pretty big oversight. But yeah, very glad we can actually use Torrent to fight Elden Beast now.
I personally think they should tweak certain attacks like the rings by making them larger. 90% of his attacks are extremely easy to get through with little to no brain power.
This is great. One of my builds going into the DLC is a dual wield rusted anchor and pickaxe strength build. Although, my other build is a faith build with golden order spells and blasphemous blade. Sucks blasphemous blade got nerfed, but seems like a good update overall
Chasing that giant fairy shrimp on foot was so annoying. Also seems poetic that Torrent starts your journey with you, and now ends it with you as well.
Warped Axe gets an S in strength scaling if heavy infused but it also gets an A in strength scaling if blood infused. Not only that, but it has the bleed scaling of a greataxe while it actually counts as a regular axe. This makes it one of the best strength based bleed weapons since it swings so fast.
You only dismount i-framed the far part of wave of gold which you can just roll normally, it’s only the middle section that has overlapping hitboxes that you can’t roll, so it’s worth testing that again but I imagine you can probably i frame it with the horse since it has almost a second of i frames. Seems like horse makes the boss a little too trivial but Elden Beast did have some borderline unfair combinations especially if you were close to walls and it will make chasing him down much easier so i’m not mad about it. It’s more of a spectacle fight anyway

It's great for bosses, but for normal enemies the short range bothers me. Life is easier with more range.

Actually very thankful that they added Torrent for the Elden Best fight. It makes the fight so much more bearable for lower level runs.
Elden beast wasn’t ever a hard fight, learn to dodge the spell spam while closing distance was the intended gameplay to get your punish windows…

You can dodge wave of gold at mid range. You have to dodge to the side right after it finishes its swing. Can't do it a close range though.
