I really enjoy the way you make your videos. A lot more "scientific" rather than having the viewer rely on impressions of how it feels. You certainly eliminate most if not all of the ambiguity associated with mice feet and the amount of friction the mouse has with mouse pads. Also kudos for having the guts to take apart the Logitech GPro Wireless. I look forward to more of your videos!
Thanks, glad you like them. I agree with what you are saying here. I know these tests are still subject to some unknowns, but I was fed up of just hearing impressions with no one providing even some basics facts/science to back them up. I hope now going forward people will be able to make a better-informed decision using these stats. With every mouse, teardown comes a lot of knowns. Having to apply the right pressure is one. If you get that wrong, you will break all off the clips lol. I've always wanted to know how things work, granted as a kid I might not have been able to reconstruct them but now I can :-p. I was surprised how light the G Pro is and yet how much there really is to it compared to others. I want to really start making my own shells using a 3d printer but atm I just don't have the spare time. If this does free up though I'm going to do this as it will be awesome.
Dude you are a legend! Very good content, would love to see this type of video in the future with different pads as well (for example black gs-r, swift rx, dm pad l, glorious helios, maybe some artisan if you could get these)
KrenZZie i saw you under a video from another channel, telling them the MP510 isn't a controlpad. And thats true as you can see in Bob's video. Its actually the fastest.
Nice video bob! Glad you took you community suggestion and made a video about it. I have more suggestion for you though, maybe the gram should be written as "g" not "G" as they stand for different meaning (g for grams, G for gravity). Also I notice the divina forward test is still for MP510 :D Glad to see this quantification test for the measurement anyway, thanks again!
Yeah, I hope this is what people want. This is what I would want to know when deciding which pad to get. It's all good hearing people say it's fast or it'sslow but it's hard to see it. I hope videos like this to help you decide which will work for them. Yep good point on the GGGG to ggggg I'll start doing that from now on. This is a good point. I did find a way to test this so I could do another video showing this if people want to see this. I agree the MP510 was smooth once you were going.

Some more pads have arrived and I've ordered some so we shall see if we can get all of them measured using the FK2 as the baseline.
Yeah, The arm would help consistency, but it only registers the max weight used, so that helps with keeping it even. I have to avoid going to close to the edge as this can skew results as well as the cable. If I could get a Terminators arm to help, me perform these tests that would be great though.
I could try pulling it, but I would need to work out a way to attach a cord or loop to hook into. I have to ensure that when I start to push, I don't ram the point into the back as this gives a false reading. There is also a difference in when it's moving and the first start. Open to some ideas if there are any on how we can improve this test.
Beardedbob physicist here, found you from reddit. What you could do is try to calculate the coefficient of friction. This is more math heavy and would require you to create a block at an angle to let the mice slide down, and something to measure the time it takes to go down the ramp. This is good for 2 reasons: 1: you don’t have to worry about air resistance on such a small scale and mice are roughly the same size 2: should be more accurate than pushing with a pin point The only issues with this are figuring out what to do with cords and maintaining proper direction of the mice. If you are interested in this I could help you calculate, but it may be more trouble than it’s worth. Edit: I may do this myself if I get more mousepads lol
Thanks, glad you are enjoying it. Yes I agree I've started to do this now going forward to show if there are any differences in the texture and friction 👍
