Awesome, I'm waiting for this helmet for its compact form factor when open, and was hoping it would be as quiet as its predecessor the HJC RPHA 90s. But it's even significantly quieter! Thanks a lot for your review and measurements 🙏
Thank you for your comment, we appreciate it! If you have any further questions or feedback please let us know! What did you think, besides the noise, of the RPHA 91?
@@Championhelmets it'll be used for electric unicycle riding so the weight is a bit high - especially for off-road. So I wonder if HJC will have a Carbon version later.
Great video. First good video of this helmet. I've been looking for this for over a week. This video offers more than what I wished for. The testing is very well done. Is it better than the shoei Neotec 2?
Thank you, we appreciate your comment! The Neotec 2 performed better on the visor, ventilation and comfort compared to the RPHA 91, and the RPHA 91 did better on material and noise. You can choose the helmet based on your personal preferences.
Are the measurement items corrected after? Back wind instead of front wind helps to reduce the speed noise as there is less air pressure against the helmet when driving. The bike measures 130kmh and the anemometer only 115 kmh. Are the comparisons against the other helmets the same (is very difficult to have the same climatic conditions, so need to be corrected after)
That's what I noticed too. On the video of the RPHA91 the wind speed is 105 to 115 for 95db. On the video of the schubert s3 the wind speed in 120 to 125 for 100db. On the video of the LS2 Storm 2 the wind is 140 km/h for 105db... A 30km/h difference in wind speed could explain a 10db noise difference between the LS2 Storm 2 and the RPHA91. They claim the wind speed is 120km/h on both but I really doubt it is. Is the RPHA91 really the most quiet helmet on the market on did it just benefited from good conditions and back wind on the test ? Unless ChampionHelmets bring proof about a scientific method they used to make their results reproductible independently of the weather conditions I think those measurements needs to be taken with a pinch of salt as the conditions of the day could easily introduce an margin error that could put a helmet from great to bad, or the opposite, on their rating.
If you could give me an answer to my question, that would be great : Size L Which helmet has the smallest outer shell size ? Schuberth C5 Neotec 2 HJC Rpha 91 I was just about to buy a C5 from your site it looks like it has the smallest outer shell ,and it has interchangeable inner lining, so I can make it better for my round head . Thank you
@@problemslayer3538that’s what the producer measures in their test conditions The C5 here scored equally to the Neotec 3 at 98db Then, any rider/bike/windshield/ riding position combination is gonna affect your perceived noise, consider that I found my Arai Tour X-4 without the visor and with padded speakers as silent as this Neotec 3 one, because my head conformation blocks almost all the noise even without dedicated flaps

@@Championhelmets do you know if the optics on the visor and sun shield are better on the 90 than 90s? Is the fit different? What is the weight difference?
I just got RPHA 91 and it seems that chin bar have slight movement (like it not closed all the way) in closed position is it just mine or they all flimsy?
wondering how do you view this one compared to C5 and Neotec 2. I have round head, and really care about the comfort of the liner. Do you feel any bite on your ears?
Sadly, HJC made a change some years ago to their lining (maybe to reduce the material) and they tend to produce sore spots in the upper top side of my head. This was true for the RPHA ST. I really do hope this is not the case anymore...

Hi Chris, the RPHA 91 is indeed heavier than the RPHA 90s Carbon, this is due to the fact that is isn't made from carbon and has the 22.06 certification! (22.06 certfied helmets are on the heavier side compared to 22.05 certified helmets)
@@ChampionhelmetsWe should be asking why 22.6? Where's the data showing fatalities from 22.5....thanks to the EU we now have heavier and bigger shells in helmets to accommodate the excess crap....Did we, as riders ask for this? Of course not, just more crap forced upon us...ride free lol.
I purchased this helmet over a month ago. I have an issue with the exterior shield slamming closed at any speed over 45 mph. The retention mechanism for the shield in the open position is weak compared to all the helmets I have owned over 35 years. I sent my concerns to HJC and they sent to their quality control dept. I have not heard anything despite me sending two follow up emails. I would not recommend this helmet as this is a major issue for me and due to the lack of support from HJC
Shield slams shut at low speed. After a recent trip I learned the shield leaks during rain. None of our group who had different helmets had this issue. No support after 3 emails. Garbage helmet and absolutely no support from HJC.

Is this really the most quitest helmet ever you guys tested? 95 Decibel seems incredibly quiet

@Championhelmets how can it be when you reviewed the schuberth c3 which came in the 80's decibels?

+40k kms with the RPHA 90S (probably 2/3 of that under rain) and never had a single drop inside the visor!

Any news on an attachment kit for cardo like the ones on the shoei neotec 2/gt-air 2 (i know there isnt one for the threes 😢)
If i wear size M for RPHA90 will i also be size M in the RPHA91?

What is the biggest difference between the 50B and 21B comm systems?
Hello Balazs, Thank you for your question. The biggest difference between the 50B and the 21B is the Intercom Pairing & Voice Command!

You ride with the helmet open at such speeds?
The helmet seems far too heavy for me. Will there be a carbon variant just like the rpha 90s has?
Wondering the exact same.
I also have this question.
There could be a Carbon Version in the future just like they did with the RPHA 90S, but we don't know when!
I want to see the hjc i91 results 😅

I'm sorry, but can anyone explain to me what language is he speaking?
English. But It's not his first language as you can hear, but I can clearly understand what he is saying.
You might need some english lessons if you cannot understand this. He does have an accent but it is pretty clear
