While all the Phantoms here are phenomenal for different reasons, I particularly enjoy Ben Crawford’s Phantom the most. There’s something so special about his voice that I really like. He is amazing.
John Owen-Jones all the way for me. His anger is believable and you almost feel the way the Phantom must have felt. I prefer a Phantom who doesn't sing 'fool' exactly to the note, meaning it is more a spoken than a sung 'fool!!'.
For me, *the* Phantom is Anthony Warlow. The level of menace and madness he generates along with the sheer power of his voice make him the ultimate Phantom for me. Pity I'll never get to see him in the role. Out of the Phantoms I've seen live, John Owen Jones is spectacular. So... Who sang it best here? 1. Anthony Warlow 2. John Owen Jones Thank you for your hard work. These clips are wonderful. Have subscribed!
My dream Erik is one who has a good healthy operatic technique and voice and who tries to be faithful to Leroux’s description, and makes the character believable. Very few achieve that. Those who did closer to that, on this list of yours with the clips you presented are Michael Crawford, Josh Piterman, Anthony Warlow, John Owen Jones, James Gant, and Peter Lockyer. I will give a shout-out to Brent Barrett for his excellent delivery but his voice is not operatic or suitable for the character.

My favorites would be Ramin Karimloo and Michael Crawford
There are many great Phantoms, but Anthony Warlow and JoJ just do it for me.

This lucky Aussie saw him twice, c.1990 and c.2007. 😉
@@rickardroach9075 Oh, I'm very jealous! How wonderful.

Ramin Karimloo is a very close second!
Butler, Ramin, Crawford

Forgot Howard McGillin. I love his mirror scene-he explodes!
I love Colm Wilkinson but I can only see him as Jean ValJean and no one else
Michael Crawford is the only one who gets it. He sounds like an actual ghost! The others are great but they don’t have the same atmosphere to them.
Killian Donnelly hands down 🤍
We love Jon Bourne!!!
Ramin
Tony Crivello
Killian Donnelly. No need to think
Gerard Butler hands down
Agreed! I loved the raw, masculine and passionate tone in his voice! ♥️🔥😍🥰🎭
He sounds way too harsh imo Phantom shouldn’t sound growls and masculine.
