Former Crips leader-turned-activist/peacemaker Eugene "Big U” Henley spoke to VladTV about growing up in South Central L.A. and having uncles that were OG Crips.
He also spoke about meeting Tookie Williams, who is known as one of the founding members of the Crips, and Big U said that he didn't run with Tookie because of their 10-year age gap. To hear more, including how the Rolling 60's Crips were formed in the 1970s, hit the above clip.

Believe it or not NYC was worse than LA in the 70s and in the 90s LA was worse, the 70s is when LA was just starting to get bad with all the gangs while in the 90s is when new york was starting to calm down. I read that from the late 60s to the mid 90s nyc would have over a thousand murders a year and this was before gang banging even started to migrate into ny.
It isn’t watered down it’s just a lot more people in prison and the Mexicans moving in to south central. There’s a new law that might free 7,000 la gang members this year that were affiliated with a homicide but didn’t pull the trigger. I wonder what will happen to the city if that happens
