Republic Venator Class Star Destroyer Fleet Exiting Hyperspace - Short Animation

- Again, I wanted to create an interesting Star Wars Animation.
I spend way to much time on this clip. Especially in blender (3d animation).
Luckily I didn't had to model all the ships by myself.

Venator Class Star Destroyer Model: • Blender - Free Venator...
Arc-170 Model + Droid Control Ship + C-9979 was from one of those links:

I do not own any rights to the characters (ships) and soundtrack/ sound effects. I only created it out of pure joy and fun.

If anyone is wondering that is the R-22 Spearhead, It's a prototype version for the A-Wing.
Thank you I was so confused by what I saw as an error in an otherwise perfect animation
Thanks for this, it caught my eye
Yup, that was the step between the Aurek Class Strikefighter and the A-Wing.
I was wondering what an A-wing was doing in the middle of a clone wars battle. Thanks!
@@Macky4941That sounds like there was only one step between two starfighters millennia apart, lol.
The fucking powerful cracking sound when the Venators drop out of hyperspace is outstanding. You really made their weight and power clear just with that one sound effect, like they were breaking the space they landed in just by their presence alone. Fuckin spectacular
FOR THE REPUBLIC
No sound in space though! 😄
@@MacrossJet technically true, but anything travelling at the speed of warp must be imparting an incredible amount of gravitational force, when they exit warp that forces is suddenly transferred to every molecule of matter in its surroundings, so even if you cant hear it per say, you can absolutely feel its vibrations, and what is sound if not just a series of vibrations?
@@chloekaftanallso want to back up, the gravitational waves of the venator exiting hyperspace should travel and hit the ship that is the pov, and likely create sound in the ship itself. so it is not sound propagating directly it is gravity battering the point of wiew ship
@@MacrossJeti like to headcanon that its like how we can “hear” black holes and saturn in our world. The drop from hyperspace being dressing enough to cause spikes in EM waves that if u changed to sound would be these booms
I love that you actually showed a common fleet tactic by having the ARC-170’s coming in on their own hyperdrives, sending fighters in immediately without the Venators needed to open up their own hangers
so i was actually wondering if the ARC's had their own hyperdrive. that's sick though
@@adamgraffigna1816 that was one of the biggest draws for the republic. The ARC, much like its successor the X-Wing, had its own hyperdrive, so before a venator got into a shootout, it could put out a full fighter screen before actually getting into a fight, saving precious time fighting against the vulture droids of the CIS, which, because they were droids, the CIS naval forces could scramble fighters in a fraction of the time that a human crew could.
ur awesome for that explanation. thank you.@@venerablebrothergoriate5844
🤓🤓🤓
@@venerablebrothergoriate5844 You could also stack fleet assets, as 2 different fleets could deploy one fleet and the others fighters to one fight, then swap and the surviving fighters could all join fleet 2 for their fight.
Holy crap, this is chill inducing. I swear the prequel aesthetic of space craft is unrivaled
@@WanderingMiqo Makes sense actually. The Republic aesthetic wise was a blend of mid 1920s to 1950s Americana features. Made sense the ships would reflect that aesthetic. The Venerators having resemblance to that time periods Battleships and carriers, and the fighters carrying at times graceful lines. Its to reflect the individuality and character and creativity of the Republic.
The Empire would have more hard edged designs reflecting the loss of character and individuality. In favor of intimidation, efficiency, and cost.
They look like Jar Jar Binks' head TBH....
@@Quetzalcoatl_Feathered_Serpent Wouldn’t the Empire reflect the Nazi’s?
@@ryandunham1047 Yes and No.
The uniforms and general feel and aesthetics are similar to the Nazi's especially on their views of efficiency not to mention the whole Authoritarian government. and sharp edges. Also arrogance and ego. Use of terror weapons etc. The entire culture of the Republic after the Empire took over literally took a 180 losing much of the creative looks and views and more in line with yes what the Nazis and indeed most authoritarian governments wanted.
It also reflected the US military as it was already a sizable force, had influence across the world, and its navy had a tendency to have greyish ships. Oh and super carriers were already a thing by the 1970s So his movie was also reflecting the harsh and cold environment of at least what he saw was the military industrial complex as well.
So it was a number of things in the movies when one looks close enough.
Scratched that nostalgic itch having seen this again 🤝
This looks absolutely dope! That hypertunnel looks gorgeous. Animation is a feast for the eyes. Great sound design too!
Yes we have all seen it hundreds of times during the last 20+ years. Something new perhaps would be nice
you know what the soundtrack is called?

Lovely work. Having them drop out at intervals, rather than all together or in rapid succession, really adds to their presence.
Doesn't make any tactical sense though..
Looks cool and is indicative of the difficulty of hyperspace coordination that thrawn solved waaay later with force users
@@XSquibX Maybe it could make sense psychologically, because if ships are constantly coming out of hyperspace instead of together, it could make the enemy commander think that there are more that is constantly coming.
@@XSquibXnot so much in this exact scenario BUT there are instances when it does make sense. Thrawn is used a tactic of 2-step-deployment, For example when using Interdictors for rapid deployment close to enemy forces.
By first having an Interdictor fall out of Hyperspace and bridge the gap to the opposition, the interdictor can then use its interdiction to pull out several Friendly ships out of hyperspace close to the battlezone. This A) shortens the period before the battle commences and B) keeps the enemy commander guessing what forces hes actually dealing with before its too late for him to enact precautions to counter the looming threat.
@@XSquibX Could simply be two different groups travelling separately, they're still arriving within minutes of each other well outside of enemy range
Seeing the Arc 170 in action is ways amazing! I feel they were underutilized in the Clone Wars show
They were underutilized period, even in ROTS, they were showcased a bit but I wish we saw more
@@steel749Yeah, I have an inkling the GAR Z-95 Headhunters were easier to animate, not sure. For TCW, at least.
Problem is that the ARC-170 was a mixed-role heavy fighter. Too slow to win most dogfights against dedicated attack fighters, and not heavy enough to properly fulfill the role of a bomber against more heavily-armored targets. It was a jack-of-all-trades, master of none.
The biggest weakness of the ARC-170 was its speed: it was very sluggish for a fighter-type starship. In dogfights, speed is essential, and lacking it will result in your death. It could barely hold its own against Vulture Droids, and stood no chance against the likes of the Tri-Fighter, which regularly slaughtered ARC-170's in great numbers. There's a reason the Republic started to replace them with V-Wings more and more, gradually shifting to a V-Wing/Y-Wing dual-pronged setup, as each ship covers the other's weaknesses perfectly and are purpose-built, role-intended starships that do their jobs masterfully.
@@sergeantassassin3425 Speed is not the most essential in dogfights, maneuverability is. Dogfights are also overvalued. For example most fighter kills in WWI came from when pilots surprised their enemies from above or below and then flew away. That's way speed was still the most important attribute for a fighter to prioritize.
@@sergeantassassin3425 also needed 3 crew to manned 1 fighter, waste a lot of resources when droid start trimming those ARC fighter as example in intro Star Wars 3 ROTS.
THE DESIGNER OF THESE SHIPS IS AMAZING
I admit. Malte Ullrich (his youtube channel) did a fantastic job. And all of that for free.

These fan animations prove that money can't buy talent
more like passion. Money can buy plenty of talented people, but do those people have the passion that is required? also if they are hired, they have to animate what they're told to, not what they want
The thundering roar of them coming out of hyper space. And the turning of the heavy terbo lasers truning to prepare to fire was Spine chilling, sending a message for sure
Secession from the Republic will not be tolerated. The GAR is here to bring your wayward system back into the fold.
This just hit so many spots for me. The thunderous sound when a Venator exits the hyperjump, the camera angle on the ARC wing and the distorting effect when it exits. I can rewatch this multiple times with an ever growing dumb smile on my face
Hey guys, I wasn't expecting so many positive comments from you. A big "thank you" from my side. ✌Yet still feel free to point out what should be done better
You should throw in some other fighter variants next time! Like Y wings, Z95 headhunters, V 19s, or V wings. It would be super cool!
Either way I'm subbed!
I admit I’m not enough of a lore buff to comment on the accuracy of your models, but they certainly look at least as quality as the Clone Wars models.
The sound design, though, is absolutely pristine. Each hyperspace exit, the sound of the turrets rotating, even the fighter engine noises are perfectly measured for impact. The Venators sound like proper massive ships groan-slamming back to normal space, the turrets sound as heavy as they look, and the fighters get that electronic whooshing that’s so iconic down pat. Had I closed my eyes and had someone tell me this was a clip from one of the official series I’d have absolutely believed it.
Your direction (so stuff about shots and angles and so on) was really good altogether! And i am certainly picky
@@TheDakkamanwell the sound stuff is taken from somewhere else. But it works really well with the animation, lovely put together.
"Silly aliens if god were to make you in his image you would've looked like us"
There's actually very few aliens in Star Wars that aren't descended from lost Human colony ships or aren't the result of the Rakata experimenting on Humans, which is why Humans are so common and can interbreed with almost everyone.
I hope you know this is basically how the Empire thought. So. Congrats on destroying democracy?

It blows my mind that one small 30 second short feels more like Star Wars than the entire Disney era of Star Wars. This sent chills down my spine, great work!
hit too close to home on that one
Such bullshit
Entire Disney era? What about Rogue One, Andor, the Mandolorian, CW S7? Those were all Disney.
Um, they were great shows like Clone Wars, Bad Batch, Andor, Mando, Rouge One, Solo, and Tales shows,
The cannons rotating with the SFX was gorgeous!
I love how the ARC-170’s are coming out of hyperspace on their own. ARC-170’s have their own hyperdrives , so strategically this would free up a lot more space on the venators for more fighters. Cool little detail for me. Great work!
Gave me chills, brought back the good old days of Star Wars
The Venator Class Star destroyer is my favorite Sci-fi ship of all time. I don't know why, but it just hits every spot for me. This animation is fucking fantastic.
Same man, same
The absolutely dumb smile on my face watching this... it just feels GOOD to see some classic star wars stuff, and this nailed the look/vibe 100%. Well done 👏
It was especially fascination the see an Arc-170 exit hyperspace alone. That scene alone got me going and I love the entire damn video. It's quite literally a work of art.
one of the best fan animations I've seen in a while; got chills while watching. Absolutely amazing.
the soud effects for the cannons moving, its so great, this was a 20/10
That was epic! The music, the models, the cinematography. Everything worked. Good job mate!
Ps: 0:53 this shot reminded me of the first time I watched Rogue One

Whoever made this, you've earned my like, my sub and a shout. "FOR THE REPUBLIC!" Like even the animations and sounds of the Main Broadside Heavy Turbos locking into positions had me really going. Well freaking done!

Ah the Venator, such a beautiful ship.
Also this video is awesome great work.
the force behind there arrival is so great that space allows sound to travel through it out of fear
Now THATS how you a make a entrance like a badass. Also love everything about this, it just go to show how much love & care was put into this and Star Wars as a whole
Absolutely awesome! It's so authentically Star Wars from the lighting to the weighty feel of the ships as they dead stop out of hyperspace... fantastic work!
0:35 nobody talking about the turrets switching to frontal attack? That was cold
no, why is no one talking about why there not firing
Because they arent in range.@RichardWFE
my favorite was the turbo lasers and the sound effects! as you see them getting into position... that was really nice!
Thanks for ACTUALLY making my day. This was awesome.
I enjoyed every second of this and in my opinion the Venator was an underrated ship that didn't get enough credit but this gives it not only all the credit but it glorifies the hell out of it and no ship is more deserving than the Venator
holly fuck this looks awesome.
the sound of the Venators dropping out of hyperspace is a eargasim
So good! The Venators are so much better than later Victorys and ISDs, such a good design, and you've brought them to life here.
Oh its beautiful, i love that shot of the ARC-170 exiting hyper space just like that one shot in rogue one with an x-wing
The Venator is hands down the best-looking ship in Star Wars. I absolutely adore its design and capabilities. Wonderful animation! You blended the sound and music very nicely!
You may feel like you've spent way too much time on it, but from our end it seems like you've spent the right amount. Good job.
Thanks
Easily one of the best animations i have ever seen. Everything from the musical choice to the hyperspace drop sound as the Venators arrive. And the ARC 170 dropping out of hyperspace is probably one of the best hyperspace declarations I have ever seen. Glorious. I would love it to be longer. Please make longer animations. Love it.
Amazing quality. Definitely looking forward to more!
Gives me goosebumps and a little sci-fi-ograsm. So beautiful!
Absolutely LOVE the echoing boom of them coming out of hyperspace. And the air raid siren for the CIS ships was a great touch.
I’ll always love how the hyperdrives work in Star Wars. Entering hyper speed isn’t a gradual acceleration, it rockets from potentially near idle to literally gone, then when it exits hyper speed, it appears just briefly, traveling at extremely high speeds, then decelerates to, again potentially idle in moments.
Animation, lighting, camera work, and sound editing. All immaculate. Amazing work.
I love seeing this. I feel like a kid again when it is saturday evening and a new episode drops. This brings me pure nostalgia. Thank you.
RAH! the republic is here! amazing animation
Honestly, Venators / Republic Fleet dropping out of hyperspace is always chill inducing! Amazing work!
Great animation, can't wait to see more! Love the music timing too.
Absolutely amazing, one of the most imposing animation of the Republic Fleet I’ve seen, keep up the good work! Looking forward to your next project 😅
Amazing work! I loved seeing the closeup of the ARC-170 coming out of hyperspace. Hopefully we get to see more of them in your next video!
I've probably watched this about 20 times. It's exquisite. The sound design (even beyond the already great music) is phenomenal. I would love to see a behind the scenes of this clip, even just showing off your workflows or the raw models to better understand how you laid out and planned specific elements.
This was incredible. Well done. The music mixed with the continuing cruisers coming out was just perfect.
The subtle rolling back and forth of the ARC-170 as it exists hyperspace really sells the vibe preventing that overly-perfect cgi sensation. Excellent work!
One of the best animations I've seen, keep up the good work!
This is really epic, cool to see this made in blender too! I wish I can make animations like this
Oh my god, this was the best thing I’ve seen with Star Wars in a long while. Could you imagine this scene in a movie theater
I love the subtle head movements you can see of the clones in their ARC-170s. Even the small jolt back as they come out of hyperspace, then checking around them for a moment.
Absolutely beautiful! And great tactics by the Republic, deploying your hyperspace-capable fighters pre-jump so they can come into the fight immediately.
Badass! I think the sound design really makes this. Big bassy thumps when the ships exit hyperspace, the sound of the turbo lasers turning into position, all very nice.
I love how you can see the clone trooper in the ARC-170. Really shows the love that went into the animation.
0:52 has got to be one of the coolest shots I've ever seen

I like how they’re all coming in sort of separated displaying that they might not all come from the same place

This is really cool man, your effort wasn't wasted
This hits hard. For the Republic!
Incredible. Please continue doing this, you are amazing!!
This ship It's so beautiful!
OMG.
Honestly, this is impressive if you truly made this solo or with some mates, bravo you managed to out-do the original Star Wars creators with the warp dropouts as they feel, how I think most would image dropping out of controlled light speed with a larger ship considering they carry more weight and stop like slamming into a Brick wall the screen shack makes a little more sense with that; Oh, also like the unlocking of the turbo weapons right after nice touch.
Side Note: No need to be ashamed about spending longer time on a project as that just how it goes sometimes.
