Anytime I see a story like this, it just ends up making me more cross than happy. Hydrocephalus, like many early-onset, terminal dog diseases, are due to how inbred they are. No, his nose isn't supposed to be caved 2 inches into his skull (this makes breathing extremely difficult). No, his head isn't supposed to be shaped like an crab-apple (ignoring the hydrocephalus, this does, infact, hinder brain development).
Dog breeding...frustrates me.
That all said, he WAS bred, and he DOES exist, so he should be given the chance to live like any other animal. It's only right.
But this kind of negligent abuse (by the breeders) has got to end.
PaperFlare I’m so sick of monsters who breed animals over and over to make money, regardless of the toll on the animal’s future. Years ago I took in a puppy mill beagle that was dumped at a shelter when her reproductive system was discovered to be full, and I do mean full, of pus. She’d been living in a cage just like all puppy mill dogs for three years having litter after litter. I was going to foster her until we could find a good home. She was four years old and so traumatized by those early years that she never recovered. We did adopt her out once, but the family brought her back. They had an over active child and Sadie, the beagle, couldn’t cope. She peed in the kid’s bed after an afternoon of the boy bouncing, laughing loudly, running and screaming, etc. I decided she wasn’t gonna go through that ever again. For most ppl she wouldn’t have been a good pet. She fit in with my dogs fine for 12 years. She was not particularly loving, but she knew she was safe and ppl cared about her. Occasionally she’d want our attention which always brought us to tears. She should have been treated with love and respect in those first few years.
About 3 years I took in a 4mo pit bull bc a man said he wasn’t allowed to keep a pit bull in the apt complex. I got him to my vet where he got his vaccinations and was neutered. I had him boarded for 6wks for training with a wonderful trainer. She’s trained dogs for 25yr and had never had a dog she couldn’t train for at least the basics. That was the first sign that something wasn’t right. About a month later he had to go in for surgery on both his back legs. The vet said the bones were very brittle bc of inbreeding. Next we saw signs of neurological problems. My vet said tests indicated that he could have sustained a head injury soon after birth or, once again, it was inbreeding. Finally he became periodically aggressive. He’d go from sweet and cuddly to a dog ready to go to my through. I couldn’t let him around my old dogs or cats, when before they’d sleep together. I made the decision to have him euthanized. I told my vet I’d NEVER put a healthy animal down. He was only 10mo old! My vet said I needed to understand that, BECAUSE OF AN IRRESPONSIBLE BREEDER, he was not and would never be healthy. Such a waste of an innocent life not to mention the loss of money and emotional toll for us. All so some puppy mill owner/backyard breeder could make money off cruelty/abuse. I always support legislation than bans/strictly regulates breeders. FL just voted to ban greyhound racing. YES!
Btw, after having my little pittie put to sleep I had to do the same for my 16yr old golden retriever due to kidney disease. I was a mess! Sorry I seem to have gone in and on, but I was so pleased to read your comment.

I know what you mean! I agree with the other person who commented they should either ban or *HEAVILY* regulate breeders. Not all are bad,but the ones who just inbreed and inbreed need to be slapped and neutered themselves. I’m just glad there’s people who will almost give themselves up to help these poor animals-who mind you did not deserve this!!!!-when they can’t help themselves

Christmas Day 2018, I hope this little guy is still with us. Amazing parents. How can anyone fault them for whatever therapies they've used? Continue to do what you're doing, parents. For this dog and for others.
"Crystal and sound therapy" Pretty sure it was the love and patience from the parents, and medicine from some docs but hey, you didn't hurt the dog while doing so more power to ya 👌
sound and vibration are very useful for healing. we are all affected by it. he wouldnt have lived past the 6 months without those extra healing modalities.
The sound therapy definitely helped, but idk about the crystal therapy...
I think the attention and love mattered more, but you never know what might give someone a boost.

I have a 4.5 month old Basset Hound with hydrocephalus. He is a sweetheart and a trooper! His mom, dad and I are giving him as much love as possible for however long we are blessed with him and he is not suffering. ❤️🐶❤️

The Stuport we had a Jack Russel that we adopted that had terminal cancer. Well he survived and beat this cancer and we got him a little sister. I truly believe that the energy of a new puppy helps. He actually had 2 sisters. But our lab was turning 10 like him and she was allot slower than she use to be. With a lot of love, a raw diet, herbs, probiotics and nutritional supplements. He passed away at 16/17 of natural causes. There was no option of fighting the cancer with chemo because the tumor was so large and against his spine. In less that a year with my nose to the grind he was cancer free. Our vet was unbelievably shocked! As so were we! Talk about a seat of your pants moment. We knew he had just 6 months to live. And my son chose him. This video brings me to tears of happiness and a bit of melancholy, only because I miss him so...🤧😪😇

WOWZA.....what a story indeed too....soooooo many parts to the struggles AND it all started with your Son picking the one pup that needed you and your Family to help. I've always said that when a person or Family "Rescues" an animal...THEY in turn are "Rescued" as well. I'm so aware of the melancholy feelings too. When I feel those I remind myself that I'm also Very Thankful to have had my time with those that I'm grieving for! Thank you for sharing your love and sadness and melancholy moments with us ALL. Yoshi Prime it actually works really well. I used sound therapy to heal my syphilis and my friend healed his ALS with crystal and sound therapy.
Well, i used to get really aggressive whenever someone tried to convince me to try ANYTHING esoteric, it was absolute bs to me (I'm a geologist) ...but then i got really sick and gave it a try. Working with crystals and healing frequencies do wonders, i cant explain it but i am ashamed for having laughed at it in the past...

Don't knock Reiki and crystal therapy till you've tried it! I was very closed minded about crystals also. I have had several debilitating, painful diseases and it was suggested that I carry a crystal in my pocket and pour my illness into it. It sounded nuts! I did it, lost 100 pounds, got out my motorized wheelchair and actually started dancing again. It was a miracle. When I finally really looked at the stone in the light, it was black and eaten away like cancer.
