Jase, I have subbed after seeing your performance on Spanians vid. I am 46 and from the housing commission of Wollongong nsw and now I have made it out, owning a place in Mooloolaba, the one thing I want lads to know is that we all can do better and not forget where we came from. I look forward to hearing about your journey mate, you articulate very well and don’t worry about saying “umm” just be authentic. Spanians videos have gone wild and I really don’t enjoy the chaos of them lately, the one you stared in was perfect.
Im a 50 something year old mum and i enjoy Spanians videos. Ive mentioned them to many people and mostly i get a groan from them, i then explain to them why i think he so important to the Australian culture. No one else is showing this side of Australia, no one else is giving people the opportunity to tell their story, no one else is documenting these areas which are being knocked down for gentrification in the most part, most people come around once i open their eyes to the positive side of it. Ill keep on supporting Spanian as i find what he is doing invaluable. Great video with Spanian, I wish you all the very best with going forward in life, and that you too find your path to success, we all deserve that chance. I have also hit the sub button. :)

👌 Respect Jase, after following Spanian’s vlogging ride for over a year now I just wanted to reach out to congratulate you for doing a great job in showing him around your area and simply say, and I’ve never met you man, but after listening to this video of yours I feel you are talking from the heart and speaking some truths which personally I find refreshing, as too many now just don’t like hearing them. I’ve grown up and lived around Melbourne for about 50 years now and know your area reasonably well now that I’ve settled in Hawthorn to help care for my father who is unwell. I have also been through some immense struggles with D&A, crime and mental illness but now have finally found some peace and contentment and really could relate to your story. I too can’t stand fake people and actually call myself “politically Incorrect” as I now read out of the book of common sense and tell the truth. One more thing, now in my early fifties and having tasted success and also many failures, of all the things that I’ve lost as far as my career, my marriage, all my money and more recently my health, the one thing I lost that I most regret as none of these things come back, and that is “time”. Time is precious brother so don’t listen to the people trying to bring you down, as remember, they are already below you, and stay strong, take care and good luck with your case. Cheers 😎

Thanks for the tour man, it was unreal seeing it all again, I lived in the Prahran flats for a time in the 80s as a young kid then later in the Richmond till I was around 10 then we got moved to a commission estate/hood in the east till I was in my late 20s, while I don't live in in that estate now I'll never forget growing up in these communities, my fondest memories are from where i csme up, I had real friendships,heaps of brothers and sisters.. we all grew up together and families had real bonds we were all poor and struggling so we all looked out for each other... you don't get that anywhere these days bro ✌🏻you have a new subscription from me looking forward for more

Great work, you did real good for your community. Keep telling us your communities story, it would be fantastic to see where you grew up, the surrounds, maybe interviews with people you grew up with and their story.

I was robbed out of the Parahan flats as a teenager in the late 90s, I couldn't believe how many dudes came out of the darkness and chased my mate and I. Later when I spoke with friends they laughed how naive I was to walk past the Parahan 'PJs' at night.
On another note, after watching the video, found out Rueben was same Rueben I used to skate with. Didn't know he passed away, such a nice guy and the video was a really well done tribute.

This is so raw and so real. I grew up in Carlton flats most of my life. I will always remember where I came from. This is absolutely amazing u doing this after @Spanian came there.. I really feel what Ur saying. I think this was one of the best Hood visits there was. Some of the hoods @Spanian visited Put on a show, u actually walked him threw the history and included people around u. I look forward to seeing more of Ur blogs. ❤

Jase, absolutely love the authenticity of the tour with Spanian you did. Including Union Heights was epic and I remember many weekends playing hoops at the courts at the flats on Malvern Road or the courts near the skate park.

Ive found over the years, there is two sorts of people... people that look at life as perspective "yea ive got it shit, but man it could be a whole lot worse".
Then there's the people that seem to be comfortable in the sorrow, where when someone positive tries to offer perspective they will always resort to negativity, i think it's because they're used to the shit that they're comfortable, and they are scared if they try to be positive things may not go perfect, theyre scared of change and not prepared to experience change while trying to better themselves for fear it wont work.
Ive said for years, positivity breeds positivity!
