Hey, Buckin, went out to help somebody today after some hail damage. They had a damaged tree we took down. Thanks for the cutting lessons over the years. I dropped it safely, right where we wanted it.
Billie, you must have tough skin walking through brambles and blackberry bushes. Those things go right through denim pants. I went through 1/4 mile of them one time that were over my head and have hated them since. My hats off to you. You have been a huge educator to many of us about power saws. Thank you very much. Just Love, Love,Love this video BBR! This is more the type of work that we might be doing in the UK, we don’t tend to have the huge fir trees that you have forests of. Slashing does build confidence with a saw because you have to learn to move more with it and as you said you need a tight chain when cutting multiple stems or the chain will spit off and trash your drive links! Thanks again for inspiring us, ( I’m a 1969 baby too!) 🤣

Buddy just did the same, finally had surgery two weeks ago, they completely disabled his arm, they don't want him to move it at all. He said they told him 50% chance it gets better 😮. Have a great day, enjoy what you have as long as you have it 😀
I’ve been doing hydro slashing and fuel’s management some of the guys coming in on with there new 500i looking at me like im to little n week to run the bigger saws I run husqy 394 and 575 for my fire wood but for slashing and fuels management cutting the small stuff and the brush I use my stilhl 026 and ms 170 and guess who’s still got All the energy come friday I can do my personal cutting on the weekends and there all beat Thanks for all your great work and videos buckin My sharpening has come along way in the past few years.

I was just giving 2 old saws from the 70s . One is a poulan 250A and the other is a 245A . 50 years old roughly and I got the small one running today going to work on the bigger one tomorrow. I love old saws .

Wow thats unreal. Ive been pruning large and small Avocado trees here in New Zealand. I trained a young fellow up on his new stihl and i have at it on my 350 Husky. Just a slashin and a rippin it up. The best mulch of all for Avos.1000 trees later and at 67 yrs old there aint nothing thats not sore.Its hard yaka hey.Took us 3 months.What a lovely smile on young Ewans face. You are so correct. I went from shop floor welder to manager and found the new roll was getting on top. I did some firewood cutting and splitting and felt revitalised. We do indeed need a healthy dose of hard work.

Fun fact from Norway. The moast used chainsaw are at the size of 50cc. Husky og Sthil. The diffrence seems to me are tree size. 3fts trees are rearly logged. And a 15" bar too 20" are often enough. Even 2ft trees are reare. Wierd right? Jacop, mr Guitly of treeson was in Norway doing treework, and he noticed this fact. I have quite a few 50cc saws that have 20"-24" bars on them .325 narrow kerf, with cannon super bars, they work nicely, my efco cs52, pawn shop buy runs 24" deep and keeps cutting, you can't push it but its still cutting fine, very impressive if you know how to do a good setup, i have many 60-70cc saws, couple 90cc saws, but at the end of the day my little saws are my favorite
Have a couple stihl 028-026, dolmar 5105, Efco345, stihl 170-180, stihl 290's to heavy but run good, stihl 270, husky 50-51-55, old dolmar that's in the 50cc range, 112 model i think, these are just all fun to use, my 038's are my favorite saws, and I have a 460 365-372-272, dolmar 6400-7300-7900, my favorite bigger saws, dolmar 9010 is what i cut my slab wood with ro heat my house, just got a swindura saw, older before they merged with echo, got a screaming deal on a echo 590, that little saw loves me, I took the stopper out of the hihg needle on the nicest 290 you ever seen, now I need to buy a new carb that wasn't even restricted so i can tune it properly, I love saws, most manly tool you can own, stay strong guys
Absolutely love husqvarna saws, i was out clearing some new trails today with my smallest saw the 359, such a great saw for slashing. Also love my 365 and 372. Im going to start looking for a smaller saw. Can't have too many.
I love that slashing kind of work. Here in Nova Scotia we have tons of those little Alders and small maples everywhere. I love to help friends whenever they need a hand clearing some of it up. Especially now that I have gotten a bit into porting, I smile more with every blip of the throttle
I used power saws exclusively for slashing up until a couple years ago when i learned to fall and buck, suddenly i realized i didnt know what i was doing even though i thought i knew how to run a saw, so it goes both ways haha. I went from 50cc home owner saws to a Stihl 461, to a husky 395 with a 42" bar for slabbing which ended up being used more for bucking giant fir and redwoods. Btw ive got my 5 and 8 year old boys swinging axes with me and just got a 1 1/4 pound axe head to build for my daughter ( shes 2 1/2 and loves saws and axes ) thanks to Vandiemen Handles from Tasmania who makes amazing handles. lots of inspiration from watching you!
Personally i would use a scrubcutter for that, i used one on a big area of black nightshade and blackberry at work a few days ago, all cut close to the ground.
Maybe you should use a forestry clearing saw instead. Then you dont need one of them small saws 😉 I can really recommend the Husqvarna 545fr which is a "multi-tool", comes with sawblade, string trimmer and blade for heavier grass. It will let you "stand up and buck" instead. 👍
Buckin those are one of the best saws husky has made. I love mine! I’m curious to see the wrap handle set up. Is it a 357 wrap handle custom fit to the 346?
I had to do that same thing today in my front yard never have watching anyone do it before and I was swinging around my poulan wild thing like you are... thought I looked like a fool but guess I was doin it right😂😂 also had some fun with the machete at the end🫡
That looks like what I was doing with my brush cutter earlier on my Stihl weedwhacker. That might save your back. Eh, blackberries. Clearing out some land for a house. Got a buddy coming over with a skid steer, and delivering some top soil. My circular saw on a stick. lol
Hehehehe, so many times I've had to do this in the back of a trailer when our chipper broke down..... the worst......hawthorns. Or true honey locust. An old climbing saw works with a 16" bar too........

Shoulder and joint pain - ibuprophen every four hours helps me. Tylenol won’t do anything for this type of pain. Yanking those big saws will wear on your shoulders, elbows and wrists.
I built a Chainsaw starting tool for starting chainsaws with your leg, like a kickstarter type of device. I think It may be useful for someone with a hurt shoulder and still needs to start a chainsaw, any interest Buckin??👍 Thanks for your excellent instruction ❤💯🤠

I wanted to ask you whether you think that is a great all-around saw? I rarely use it for really big stuff and I feel it's also small and light enough to limb with. Put 11 hours in today with a 20 in bar. Im in the midwest ill throw the 28 in on for stump once in awhile but usually dont run it alll day. And to Ewan keep your chin up. Your going to be stronger than ever. Nothing will stop you after this. Its what we do after the fact that matters! ✌️
