Hey good on you fullas for showing the wounded ones, people have to realise that steel shot has pretty average killing power compared to lead shot. We here in New Zealand have steel aswell and most people would struggle to down birds clean past 50 60 yards. We use the pattern master chokes and our normal shot length is 60 - 80 max. Good video

There is absolutely zero justification for shooting a hen, Mallard buddy. This flyway struggles enough as it is.

If regulations allow it, then I have no problem shooting hens. I’m hunting to get food. If you want to shoot only drakes that’s fine but don’t bash others for shooting hens if we’re allowed to.

@watersedgetv you would hate to hunt northern saskatchewan then... no hen to drake or species specific limits... I always try to pick out green but can never resist a solo hen cupped up coming in, last hunt we went on, between 3 people we hammered 13 hens and 11 green heads lol

      If it’s flying it’s dying

Alot of experts seem to think that the hen to drake ration become 50-50 but only after the nesting season. So just shooting drakes isn't productive. Here in NZ ducks are increase population by 19-20% and are considered pests under our conservation act. Farmers can apply for out of season duck licenses in the summer
