Great flight outta the box! 10% expo is hardly noticeable. Feel free to toss 30-40% at it and every plane on all surfaces and rest easy doing so. Less is needed on rudder on most planes but it’s fine to set all the same and adjust as needed.
Agreed. Look at the control curve and 10% is nothing. I like the 30-40% range because that keeps the middle third or so of the control curve very similar to the normally recommended low rate of 70% while still allowing full deflection when wanted or needed.

Very awesome video Nate. Some really great flying. I have mine on pre order I can not wait this is the plane I have been waiting for every since the original Timber X came out and I flew it.
I love my umx timber has helped teach myself and a few friends how to fly. That being said shes seen better days..... Pretty much a hunk of flying CA glue and tape lol. Definitely putting this on the "must order" list👍👍

The turbo timber is a better STOL plane than this, I have 2 because I wrecked my first so much its mostly glue and toothpicks now. I'm not the best pilot but this UMX looks like a blast!
I agree with the previous chap who posted. My son and I have UMX Timber and UMX TT and have squeezed pretty much everything out of them we can. What those excellent planes lack is roll rate and you will certainly not have that issue with the X!
Now....the big X was still a really good STOL flyer so If this is true of the smaller X then the X is the only Timber I will ever need but if it's not, then this one is a completely different animal and will be more of a niche model which will be a shame.
Looks great. I am not to that level yet, but I love flying my UMX timber often.

Expo helps make the controls smother. It's needed on some planes more than others and that's probably why Nate doesn't use it much because most of his planes fly great with out it. If you would like to learn more about EXPO I think The RC Saylors have a vid explaining it more if not I'd be glad to drop a link to a vid that does.

With the up flaperons you can high alpha around easier. I loved my original umx timber but sold it since it was pretty old and worn. This looks great, now to make some room for it...

read the manual. Hopefully you have the additional sheet with changes in the CG and where to set the elevator. Mine didn't have those and it flew like crap! I read suggestions on the internet, modified my settings and now it flys awesome!

Negative flaperon is used in sailplanes to permit faster airspeed and better penetration. Moving from thermal to thermal you want to move faster. Also to heading into the wind and you want to cover ground. How it is intended to be used on this platform I’m not sure.

I believe the "Reverse Flaps" are to be used as spoilers so you can loose altitude without gaining a lot of speed.

I have to get this one too lol love my arrows pioneer I got it after nate and abby reviewed it as always 😁 but I absolutely love these little planes especially since I don't have the kind of space around me to fly the big planes at the moment I just really wish they had a RTF version with a decent radio that would bind with all other planes 😫 however I am looking into getting the aero scout rtf with the dxs radio so maybe it will fit great with this plane😁 Thanks guys for the incredible content as always.... PS you have my son wanting a rc boat lol so I'm gonna be grabbing 2 for sure just can't figure out which 2 because you guys showcased some insanely cool ones the last boat week 👍🏽✌🏽
I have a AeroScout and that's exactly what I'm going to do is use my DXe remote when I get the UMX Timber. I want have flaperons but that's ok don't really need them that bad. The AeroScout is awesome but I like the smaller planes also so I can fly in my back yard. When you buy a plane boat etc pls use the link in the description it helps out the channel.

I have many 3s 450mah batteries ... they are about 46g in weight .. do you think that would be ok?
I used to fly a 400 mah battery in the original UMX timber (200ish recommended) and it could handle that weight. The UMX timber X having that much more power would probably handle the bigger battery. I wonder though how much longer the flight time will be as you'll need a higher throttle setting with the increased weight. So you might gain some extra time, but maybe not as much as you'd like. That's what I found on the original UMX

Oh, so much for your pull at HH... in a AeroScout 1.1 video awhile back you suggested that HH come out with a UMX AeroScout; they obviously didn't listen to you. 😢😊
HH has an Aeroscout mini. Unfortunately, it is RTF using an oddball protocol. I couldn't find a match on my multi protocol radio.

I just checked out the smart charger and battery combo from y'all's yesterday video, I'm pretty sure but I want to wait until I get home from work to make sure that's the same battery for the AreoScout before I buy it. Then I'll have an extra battery for both the AreoScout and the UDI Arrow 5 boat.

Hello, new to flying and was thinking of getting the Sports Cub S until I saw the new UMX Timber X! Do you think the UMX Timber is ok for a new flyer who never flew? I know the Sports Cub is for beginners, but I think in the long run this will be more fun. What you think?
As nate said, you could fly this in safe mode and never take it off. So yes, although you need extras to fly this plane.

It can! Just a little more challenging to “hover” with it. I think it will likely fall down quicker in a flat spin than the larger Timber X. So much fun! Flies inverted like a champ and those ROLLS!!
