I play both and the violin is so much more tiring for muscles and the cello is more comfortable and, IMO is much more fun to learn because of the much lower register is easier for beginners AND others within earshot to hear. My choice is cello all the way but, if you’re a novice, try both and see for yourself.

It’s much easier for a violinist to learn cello than for a cellist to learn violin
